Chapter 3:The Artifact

As Reiko uses her flame techniques on Raijin he knows for sure it was her.

"The two legendary shinobi Danzo and Amaterasu are married. Interesting but it is unfortunate that both of you will die here unless you give me the artifact".

Reiko launches endless flame towards him but he managed to dodge most of it, but the burning heat of her technique were able to harm him.

Reiko's technique makes it difficult to attack due to her flames protecting her. In this situation if Raijin keeps dodging her attacks Reiko will have an upper hand for her burning heat is harming him, it is only a matter of time before he would be defeated by her burning heat.

Raijin left without any other option decides to attack as he was harmed more from her flame techniques.

He constantly moves to dodge and attack at the same time in immense speed to the point that she starts seeing multiple afterimages of him.

Raijin pushing his limit finally decides to finish this once and for all, he uuseshis most powerful technique and strikes Reiko as she was about to release her technique.

Reiko can't match his speed and was strike down by his blade but at the cost of his body being burned from the intense heat. Raijin was injured because of her.

"You keep up a good fight. Indeed as expected of Amaterasu but it is ashamed that it have to end this way.", he spoke as he quickly retreated.

In Reiko's dying breath she talks to Danzo whose running out of blood.

"I wished that we could see this world in peace and see our sons grew up together and watched them live happily."

"Their future will be rough from now on but I believe our sons are strong enough to endure and persevere. In the future they will change the land of Nihon together and end this war, my dear".

"I'm sorry Jino and Nataro for I can't accompany both of you anymore.",she muttered her final breath as tears flowing onto her cheeks.

Danzo looks to his wife and said "Don't worry my dear I believe in our sons and Jino, I will leave the artifact to you", he muttered as he embraces his wife's body one last time as the flames slowly engulfed their surroundings.

As the sun has finally risen all that is left are but ruins and ashes. Jino and Nataro finally leaves their hiding spot and quickly tries to find their parents.

After a few minutes Nataro found a body of a couple embracing each other. He burst into tears and started screaming. It was a scream filled with pain and sorrow. "Why am I so helpess? Why can't I do anything? Why? ", countless questions appears on his head.

Upon hearing a scream Jino immediately runs towards him and witness their parents bodies and followingly his tears starts flowing through his cheeks.

For a few hours the brothers released all of their emotions. Soon Jino as the eldest son compose himself to be the leader his father taught him to be. "Time awaits for no one. You may grieve but the day will still continue with or without you", he thought remembering his father's words.

The brothers decide to bury their parents besides the place they formerly called home.

As the soils finally covered their bodies. Jino promised to himself that he will get stronger to rebuild the Hattori clan but Nataro as his eyes filled with anger holds a different vow.

"I will avenge you and our clan, I will destroy the Fuuma clan and make them suffer multiple times worse than what they did to us!".

As they finished, Jino decided to search for a survivor while Nataro decided to search things that they could use from his home.

As Nataro searched his parents' room he found a large wooden box covered in dust barely hidden in a floor after it was burned, he opened the box and found 3 scrolls and a small wooden box.

He opened 3 of the scrolls and notices 2 of them are written in an unknown language and the remaining one looks like a message. He decided to read through it.

"My name is Ryuji Hattori the grandmaster of the Hattori clan, currently the war has been held for 20 years now and our clan is losing manpower, but more enemies keep trying to attack us for our region because of that I seek for some kind of power, and recently I heard about a powerful artifact but from what I heard this artifact also has the ability to destroy Nihon itself, I don't know what to do, but for my clan's safety I must seek this powerful artifact."

"After 10 years I have finally found the artifact it was located in the far west of Nihon it was unlike other artifacts I have ever seen. This artifact has an incredible sense of dread and anger in it, I felt it when I touched it and I fear this power is too much for me but I must use it for the clan so I finally decided to brought it home."

"I succeeded to invent new powerful techniques with it. With this artifact I believed then one day we will need this power to protect our home. For that I wrote two of my jutsu I created within this 2 scrolls that I also kept in the box but only the one who could truly mastered the artifact could truly mastered it. For that I trust the future grandmasters to hide it and only use it when the Hattori clan needed it the most. And that is all I need to tell you about the artifact."

"Well its useless now when Hattori clan is now destroyed", Nataro thought to himself, and thus he decided to open the wooden box and within it he found a mask.
