A new character

It was already night and started pouring when I had to leave my work. Everybody opted for different ways to go home and I was left alone near the building. I had no time to think about what happened in the morning after the nap but now I'm here alone in rain which made me feel shallow as everything reflected back on my senses.

I looked up on my cellphone for time and time passed watching social media thinking the rain may stop anytime but my heart wouldn't stop thinking about incident with John. Few minutes passed by then I received a call from Kevin asking my whereabouts. I replied honestly to him and to my surprise I saw him stopping his Black SUV infront of me.

He got down and ran to me holding his brown jacket to protect him from rain. I couldn't stop staring at his handsome figure. He wore contradict to morning, it was black shaded Jean with light shade of blue t-shirt showing off his new gym figure. His hair rested messed up down to his forehead due to few drops of rain.

He came to me with his enthusiastic look and asked me my plans. I said I got no plans for now. He then popped up question about having dinner with me cause he felt bad that I cancelled our lunch plans. It is then I realised I had not had my lunch and didn't want to upset him by putting him down twice in a day and said yes.

He made his gentleman way to car holding me from rain with his Jacket and we drove to nearest restaurant.

We could see almost all the restaurants crowded due to this unpredicted rain. Finally got a distant one with VIP area half unfilled where we sat comfortably. He placed the order for me too as it was clear on my face I wasn't still okay with the incident. He sat staring accross me not knowing how to divert my attention. He started playing with tissue papers on the table, making origami which turned me cheerful. We started guessing the names of what we made. As for my mood it lightened up.

After a while of our playing we started chit chatting.

" What made you come out in rain?" I asked as I know he disliked being in rain."

"Nothing. I just had some work" he replied ignoring an eye contact.

"I don't think so. As far I know you, you would happily sacrifice your work rather getting wet in dirt"

He just hummed to it.

"Seriously you don't need to hide it. Spill out, what's the matter?"

"It's just home issues..." he said wading my curiosity.

"You can tell me I'm your friend. I won't market it to anyone besides I don't have any customers" I said in playful tone to which he gave a smile.

"... it's my brother. He came back from abroad today and we started back arguing for our rooms..." to which I couldn't say but laugh out.

"seriously is it for the rooms you are tensed and out" I said laughing pulling my hair back from my face and moving to and fo on my couch.

"it wouldn't be only that Alara." I listened carefull now not to hurt his feelings.

"He's always wanting what I have. I give up everything thinking he ll understand and he's my younger brother but he won't get it. This has let him become a spoilt kid. You know he wanted his University abroad so we did as he pleased. He has been suspended from 3 colleges and expelled from 2." He said this in anger and in a pace of time that he paused to drink water that had been untouched till now. Sipping down the water he started again " now he is back. I brought him from airport and he started over it again. He still wants to go outside country to study, in the name of studies he is just into messing up things around. Dad asked me to take an application from your university to which I did. For which he is blaming me. "

I dint know what to advise as I'm myself a self relying person so I sat there looking this agitated person. The dinner was on time to smoothen the silence. The dishes were served on our table. He relaxed himself and thanked the server for food and smiled to me like a complete another person. We started our dinner and the topics changed on food.

"Why don't you try this sea food this is tasty here take this one" I served him.

"No not this one I'm allergic to this fish" he clearly denied, and I took back "try this kebab here" he served me, "I know you like spicy meals don't you?"

Yes I replied with smile.

"I see your taste hasn't changed from the last time. Do you remember last time my mom prepared this fish when you had come to visit ?"

"Is that why you ordered it now?" I was happy to hear that he still remembers.

"Yes and you said you like spicy food back then."

"Yup" I replied and suddenly my eye fell on a distant person who was staring at us. He came walking towards our table. A part of me jumped in excitement that he resembled someone.

As my gaze fell on Kevin it got to me he must be someone related to him.

Kevin saw my face and turned to the direction to see behind him. He stood next to Kevin just like a carbon copy except he was less muscular than Kevin himself.

He had worn sleeveless white t-shirt with some motto written on it with blue hipster pants which looked bigger than his waist and white shoes on this rainy day which had turned half earth brown. A blue jean cap to hide his messed wet hair.
