Chapter 4

*Beta Chase's POV*

After finishing up the details of the new treaty with Alpha Jeremy and his son Jasper, I packed everything up in a neat and organized way, ready to hand everything to my alpha as soon as I got back to my pack.

I couldn't put my finger on it, but I felt like Alpha Jeremy and his son were hiding something from me. As they were showing me around their pack every pack member was keeping quiet around me and it was truly weird. Than when we went back to the pack house there was a strong scent of a female wolf, but no one I met had that scent.

I wanted to figure out who it was, but I was only a beta and I didn't want to show disrespect and risk the chance of losing the treaty.

As I finished gathering everything, I packed it in my truck and got ready to move back north towards my pack.

As I was leaving the pack house with the rest of my stuff Alpha Jeremy was waiting for me. We shook hands and politely said good bye. The weird thing was, was that it was nearly 12:30 and there was no sign of the alphas son in the pack in house.

I just shrugged it off and shoved the rest of my stuff into the back of my truck. It wasn't a very big truck, but I still liked it. It was black with red flames going around the bottom rim of the truck. I got it from my father after passed away.

After a final wave to that Alpha, I got in my truck and made my way to the northern border, but the smell of blood made me stop. It wasn't just any blood, it was mixed with the same female wolf scent that I smelled back at the pack house.

She was bleeding, and it wasn't from just a scratch. Than I smelled another newly familiar scent. It took me a second to remember, but it was the alphas sons scent. What is he doing out this late.

I quickly got out of my truck and slowly and quietly followed the scents. It didn't take me that long to find Jasper and a female wolf at the border. She was lying on the ground crying and almost unconscious and he was continuously kicking and punching her everywhere.

Her face was swelled up to the point that I couldn't see her eyes and she was bruised and bloodied all over her body. He was trying to kill her.

Before giving it another second I ran from the spot I was in and tackled Jasper to the ground.

"What the hell....." Jasper started before he looked up and saw me, then his face got pale.

"What? No more mr. tough guy act. You were just beating up a harmless she-wolf? and you're supposed to be the example for this pack. Right." I snarled at him while holding my hand over his throat.

"I'm leaving and taking her with me, then I'm going to tell my alpha about this and I'm pretty sure this peace treaty we just worked on all f.ucking day will just go to waste and when your father asks why, you can tell him that it was YOUR F..UCKING FAULT," I started to yell because my wolf was taking over and I couldn't do a thing about it.

My wolf never could just sit by and watch a female being abused by someone more powerful than them. It was despicable. I would normally end up killing the abuser, but I was told by alpha command not to harm anyone unless My life was threatened.

"I'm leaving now and if I ever catch you harming another helpless female again, I will come back and personally rip your head off your shoulders. Do you understand me?"

"Y...y...yes.." He stuttered and when I released his neck, he ran back in the direction of his pack house.

As soon as he was gone, I ran over to the females delicate body and listened to see if I could hear a heartbeat and I could. It was very weak though, I have to get her to my pack hospital and fast. I put her in the back seat of my truck and drove off towards my pack as fast as I could.
