Chapter 4: The Void That Needs To Fill

In the still of the night you hear the crickets chirp, an encounter upon light will bring you out to lurk, the wind blows with all of its might, sending you to a state of flight.

As Alia and I were walking she tripped over a tree root. I did not hesitate to help her but she ended up having a sprained ankle. So I carried her, it was kinda awkward and I could hear my heart beating fast, I wonder if she hears it too.

After some time I felt her put her hand on my chest, so I looked down at her, she was blushing and I quickly turned away. My face was hot, I could feel my face blushing but I had to calm down. This feeling again, why am I feeling this way, I’ve never had any interest in females but here I am feeling nervous and embarrassed. We were reaching the end of the hill, the Wolf Village was at sight when suddenly Alia speaks to me.

She had grabbed the ring I put in my pocket and then she put it on. She was glowing, I was confused and shouted what was going on when she disappeared out of my arms.

Once again I’m alone, the wind sweeps away leaves and the chirps stop. I had this feeling of loneliness with sadness, I have everything but nothing at the same time. After processing what just happened I head back to the village where the animas greeted me. Of course I had to act tough, the Wolf Tribe was a prosperous village where all its citizens had a home.

I was heading back to the palace where the maids, servants and my sister lived. My sister is Amalia, she is 18 years old and is very energetic. I do everything I can to make her happy and try not to make her worry. She was scarred by the assasination of our parents because she was the one who found them, she was only 16.

Everyone in the village is a wolf, there are a very few interracial marriages. They are starting to become quite common but some tribes chose to marry within their own tribes as part of their culture. As the second most powerful clan, we have some strong warriors that practice martial arts, magic spells and weaponry. The Wolf Tribe specializes in martial arts and weaponry but we also have some really powerful mages that protect us with long range attacks or by putting up magic barriers.

I myself am the most powerful martial artist in the Wolf Tribe, I also excel in weaponry and I prefer to use a sword. My magic is not the most powerful though but I’m pretty good at incorporating it while fighting so it’s average. My fighting is more of close combat than long range but I’m powerful enough to defend and protect my village from evil and monsters.

Nearing the entrance of the village, I found myself thinking of that female. Where could she have gone? Did she use some kind of teleportation magic. I wonder if she was scared of me, maybe that’s why she disappeared. I didn’t want to force her into anything but I at least wanted to talk to her. I wonder if I’ll ever see her again.
