Chapter 7

Maria woke up to the sound of footsteps and mumbles. She rose slowly; one of the maids saw and yelled “Her highness is awake.” Maria stared at her with an expression showing that she was loud and the maid realized and apologized for her impudent behavior. Everyone in the room was ecstatic except Maria. Maria was looking around the room and her eyes caught on something. She got off the bed slowly and went closer to the book lying on the night stand. She hesitantly opened the book but to her surprise the book was empty. She was disappointed because she felt like that dream was telling her something , right then she remembered something “When it’s the right time you will find out everything you wish to know inside that book and we will meet soon, sister.” Maria let out a soft sigh and said “I will wait patiently brother.” Suddenly Maria felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see a maid telling her that she woke up at the right time as the carriage would soon leave. Maria then asked how long she had been asleep. The maid looked down and said that she had been asleep for two days. Maria was shocked and asked the maid to prepare her outfit immediately. The maid rushed out to prepare for her outfit while Maria was in her room alone thinking about her dream. The maid came back with Maria's outfit and Maria immediately changed into her outfit. She saw her luggage packed and asked some butlers to carry them for her. She entered her carriage and waited for the carriage to start moving. She stuck her head out and saw her father and sister sitting in the carriage fidgeting. She smirked and looked out the window thinking how free the birds were in the sky, not having to care about anything.

Chapter 8

Two weeks later, they reached the kingdom of Chinal and were heading to the palace. Villagers flocked the street to see the emperor of Libaher and his two daughters who were said to hold beauty and power. The villagers showed their joy by dancing on the streets as the carriage moved down the rocky roads. Maria looked out the window and started waving to the villagers until a man in a black hoodie, staring at the carriage caught her eyes. She was quite curious as to why he was staring at them with an unusual expression unlike the other villagers but she brushed it off and focused on the elections. After a few hours the carriage arrived in front of the palace. The guards opened the carriage doors and she exited the carriage taking a breath of fresh air and admiring the impressive size of the palace. She looked to see if her father and sister had exited the carriage and saw them standing as if they were half dead, she smiled seeing them in this state. Suddenly, “Ahem! welcome to the kingdom of Chinal. It is a great honor to have the royal family of Libaher visit our kingdom and it is also an honor to meet the sisters of the emperor of Libaher. It is said that one sister possesses the beauty of ten women all together and one princess possesses great power and strength which is quite unusual for a woman.” said the emperor of Chinal. Maria replied “Thank you for your kind words emperor and it is also an honor to see this beautiful kingdom. The people of this kingdom seem to truly adore their culture and are very proud of it which is quite admirable.” The emperor of Chinal was quite pleased with Maria’s compliments and turned for Angela’s reply but was disappointed on seeing that she was quarreling with some maids, not paying any mind to what he was saying. He let out a sigh and said “The elections will be discussed at dinner with the other emperors. For now I hope you will have a pleasant stay in this kingdom and I hope you can experience the different cultures our kingdom has to offer.” Maria bowed to the emperor of Chinal and was about to climb the stairs to enter the palace.
