Chapter 5

Angela looked up to see her father’s reaction, as she trembled in fear while Maria was staring at her with a smirk on her face. Angela slowly walked back, still shaking in fear and mumbling to herself ,then suddenly she tripped. The ministers tried coming close to help her up but she screamed at them making the ministers upset and they slowly walked back. Maria stood at her position looking at everything that was happening. She glanced at her father who was burning in anger but his eyes were flickering in fear. She smirked at the sight of all this chaos but the noise was too much for her to bear. Suddenly she said “Please be quiet! It is quite chaotic in here and if anyone from another kingdom was to see what’s happening here, it would put us in a really difficult situation don’t you think?” The ministers bowed and apologized for their impudence. Maria sighed and said “Well it has been quite a circus so can someone please answer the question I had!” The ministers looked at each other and then said “Your highness, your father has been king for too long and it is time for a new ruler. It has been tradition to vote in Chinal where other rulers will attend but your father is quite hesitant to give up the throne.” Maria sighed then spoke “Since father is quite hesitant to give up the throne let me inform you of the rules father. It is written in the law that the election of the next ruler must be held even if the king doesn’t wish to give up the throne. Should he or she refuse to comply, he or she will loose their status as did the previous emperor and will have the status of a commoner, is that correct ministers?” The ministers were amazed by Maria’s knowledge of the law and responded “Yes, you are correct your highness.” “So we should get ready to travel. It’s going to be a long trip , I hope father will understand what is happening and would put  his greediness aside and do what is right for the kingdom.” Maria stated. The ministers responded “Yes, your highness we will get all the preparations ready. Thank you Your Highness for helping us solve this problem.” “You’re welcome ministers and what I did was nothing, I just stated the facts but thank you for your kind words.” Maria walked away from her position and bowed in front of her father saying “Father I take my leave.” She left the room taking one last glance at her father who was shocked and terrified and her sister who was being comforted by the maids.

Chapter 6

Days passed by and the palace was a mess. Everyone was running around making last minute preparations so the trip to Chinal can be set out. Maria was in front of her verandah staring at the chaos that was happening when she heard a loud shriek. The noise was too much for her to handle causing Maria to fall unconscious on the floor. Moments after Maria got up hesitantly and examined her environment. As she stood up she was faced with a large steel gate, guarded by two guards on each side of the gate. She felt her feet on soft cotton balls and was shocked to see that she was standing on clouds .Then suddenly “Creak!” the gigantic gate was opened and the guards vanished. She walked pass the gate to see nothing in sight. Then suddenly an angel appeared and covered her eyes, even though she found this weird her body felt calm and her mind was at ease as she thought to herself “Most people would freak out if they saw an angel”. After some time the angel uncovered her eyes and she was standing in front of a mirror in a dark place. The angel unexpectedly started doing a dance in front of her which made her quite surprised then she saw herself standing ***** in front the mirror and her birthmark glowed. It grew more and more and was covering her body except her face. It grew from her neck to her foot and was giving off a light yellow glow. Maria looked back to see if the angel was still there but saw a man instead. As she stared at the man she started having an intense headache which made her dropped to her knees on the floor. She then asked “Who the hell are you?” the man looked at her and replied “I am your brother, you are the light and I am the darkness, I am the devil and you are the angel, I was forced to be like this while you were born like that but I must say even though you are an angel you surely don’t act like one.” Maria was confused by what he was saying angel, devil, what the hell was happening. Maria was lost in thoughts when the man coughed to get her attention. He handed her a book and said “When it’s the right time you will find out everything you wish to know inside this book and we will meet again, soon sister.” He slowly disappear which made Maria sad for some reason. Maria started feeling dizzy and was soon unconscious again.
