Episode 4

(Third pov) 

    Kaname and Akatsuki head deeper into the clearing close to "Shota cemetery" as daylight begins to fade the sky into multiple bright blue shades. Piles of dust are scattered about on the snowy ground, various types of woodland animal corpses drained of blood are tossed in random directions. Akatsuki instinctively sniffs the air while walking up to a lifeless body. He kicks it until it's neck is facing him. 

    "Looks like level Es hit this place. All of those dead animals are completely drained of blood," he mumbles matter-of-factly, narrowing his eyes at two fang marks carved into its flesh. Kaname makes a disgusted sound and quickly examines the area one last time. 

    "There's a pair of two footprints leading in the direction of (Y/n)'s clubhouse. Plus, there's an extra set of distorted prints tracking it. (Y/n) and Zero mostly likely headed that way to escape an ambush. We better hurry up before anymore viral level Es show up," he demands, tilting his head in the direction to his left. The other boy nods his head in agreement and they both immediately begin following the path. They continue on their way as the scent of thick metallic grows stronger. A gentle breeze blows against Akatsuki's face, determination flickering in his amber orbs. A wooded area is on both sides of them while snow starts silently falling from the clouds. They track the trail, coldness latching onto his body. 

    "I think I caught onto (Y/n)'s scent. She isn't that far away, actually," he mumbles more to himself and automatically charges past a group of trees. He shoves a tree branch out of his way, spotting two shadowed silhouettes surrounded by at least five dark unnaturally distorted shapes at the bottom of a snowy hill. He races down an incline as shouts of protest break the heavy silence. Dust mixed with snow sprays from behind his feet as he lands gracefully on solid ground. He runs in the direction of the horrible scene playing out while realizing (Y/n) is in deeper trouble than he originally thought. She's holding Zero protectively, struggling to keep back a group of level Es. 

    "Stay back. Leave me, alone!" She continues yelling and sparks of electricity appear around each creature. It forms into the shape of a cage to keep them away from her, blue sparks circulating into their bodies. Their movements automatically grow still and their bodies remain in a paralyzed state. Their skin begins bubbling like acid, dust splattering in every direction. 

(Y/n) pov) 

    You sigh in relief for a moment as you quickly scan your surroundings for any-more enemies. You cast a glance at Zero, noticing his chest is rising and falling at a normal rate. 

    "At least you're okay for now," you whisper while focusing your attention to the scarf pressed against his neck. The blood flow has slowed gradually over the last fifteen minutes, but his blood has already soaked through the fabric completely. You brush his sliver bangs away from his eyes and slightly smile at the fact he's still somehow conscious.

You hear something move from a shadowed spot nearby, another group of disgusting vampires ambushing you. You growl in frustration, trying to use your abilities for a more powerful blow. 

Electricity flows throughout your veins as you watch purple sparks flicker around your fingers. You hold Zero like it's the last time you'll ever be able to see him, closing your eyes tightly. You steady your racing heart while gathering the remaining energy in your body. You quickly release it, a bust of sparks mixed with pure power exploding around you in a sphere. It blows everything back like a strong gust of wind and fries anything near you into a pile of burning ash. You hesitantly open your eyes, suddenly feeling lightheaded. Your vision blurs to a hazy grayness and your limbs are too heavy to move. Darkness latches onto your soul, your body colliding with the ground like a puppet whose strings have been cut.
