The Villainess Will Beat The Novel!
There once lived a girl named Avery. She was the most beautiful girl in the land- she had silver straight hair with a golden highlight and big green round eyes that anyone could spot in a mile. Since Avery was too unique, she had to wear a robe whenever she had to go out to the food market or the library.
Avery had one brother- Liam. Unlike Avery, Liam looked like an average person. He had light brown hair and brown eyes. Because he looked normal, people would usually want to become friends with Liam rather than Avery. Avery only had one best friend named Jeanette. Jeanette and Avery both met at the library and bonded over romance novels the first time they met. Because of their love for books, they have been inseparable ever since.
“Hey, Liam. Tell mother that I am going to go to the library today,” Avery says as she puts on her robe and walks out of the house. As if it was not new, Liam waves at her as she leaves.
Today was like any day- Avery went to the library everyday to get a new romance novel because she would finish each of them in a flash.
DING! The library’s doorbell went off as Avery walked in. She smiled at the owner and hurried to the romance novel section in the library. There, she spotted her best friend, Jeanette bending down to get a book on the lower shelf.
“Jeanette!” Avery whispered happily. Jeanette turned around and smiled a big smile.
“Hello Avery! What a lovely surprise!” Jeanette said in joy as she hugged Avery. After they hugged, they both went to talk about new books they have never read before.
“I heard they are bringing in new books to the library!” Jeanette stated to Avery, who was in shock. This local library never really renewed their books often so with this statement, Avery was super happy.
“That’s amazing. I was almost finished with all the romance novels in this library too,” Avery replied, “anyways, what book are looking at? Is that a new book?” Avery saw Jeanette holding a velvet book that was super shiny.
The red velvet book was a book that Avery had never seen before- the books in the local library usually had a green hard-cover.
“I-I won’t allow you to read this book,” Jeanette says nervously as she gripped the book tighter to body. This comment left Avery in shock because Jeanette has never told her that she couldn’t read a book. They would always share their books that they have read.
After a few brief seconds, Avery thought optimistically and asked, “Is it not a good romance novel?” Jeanette looked down to the floor and replied back to her.
“It is. Truly it is, but I don’t want you to read this book,” Jeanette says shyly.
“Why is she acting like this? This has never happened before. Maybe it is a really good romance novel?” Avery thought.
“Come on, I bet you’re hogging a good romance novel,” Avery playfully pulled the book from Jeanette but Jeanette pulled the book back.
“L-let go of the book!” Jeanette said in an angry tone which made Avery upset. But still, they both kept tugging on the book.
“N-no why are you hogging this book Jeanette?! You have never acted like this before,” Avery pulled on the book harder. Jeanette screams as Avery snatched the book from Jeanette.
Just before Avery opened the book to read the contents, Jeanette yells, “Please don’t open it Avery! This book is about you!”
