"Wake up! You lazy kid". mom said slamming the door

"Mom just 5 more minutes please". I exclaimed. "Today is your graduation day. Now fresh up and come for breakfast”, mom said while pulling out my blanket and that's her strategy to get me out of my bed.

Today is the last day in my college. Ah! I don't know whether I should be feeling happy that I got placed in Dixit Interiors or be sad that I have to leave my friends and my college memories.

Suddenly ( heard a crashing sound outside. I peeked out from my window and I noticed a big truck carrying loads and the broken pieces of mirror which was broken by the people moving things into the house. I think someone is moving into my next door.

It was vacant until recently. It was the place where my first love Arnav used to live. He was 2 years older than me. It's been 10 years. I thought I could forget him after the joining the college and find my next love but couldn't

"I still love you Arnav, I think I will keep on loving you forever. I want to be loved, I wish you were alive Arnav", I whispered looking at the photo of Arnav and me when I was12 years old.

*Alarm sound*

Oh no! I am running late. I rushed into the bathroom.

After getting dressed I went down. "very good morning pretty". I said while placing a kiss on her cheek. "morning dear, oh I forgot to tell you. Someone from Dixit Interiors is moving to our next door. Let's greet them in the evening". mom said.

The moment I heard the word next door, Arnav's image flashed into my mind. "No mom. I don't want to". I said. Noticing a teary eye's Mom said," it's fine dear forget about the past. Don't be a kid and sulk about someone moving into next door"

I sat down quietly and had my breakfast.

"mom! Dad! I am going to college bye". I shouted and took the bus to reach my college.

As soon as I reached my college. I entered to my class and greeted everyone. I met my friends Geeta and Tina we hugged each other and cried. "I will miss us." I said. After crying and talking about our college memories, how we used to tease Tina and bunk the classes and we entered the auditorium where the ceremony is being held.

It was 6pm and the ceremony is finished. We said goodbye's and greetings to everyone.

When I finally reached my home, I saw my mom rushing outside carrying a containers with food. "mom, where are you going?" I asked. Mom suddenly drabbed my hand took me along with her and said, "I going to greet our next door family and you are coming with me." I know she wouldn't let me say no.

Its been a long time since I visited Arnav's house. We stood before the door and Mom knocked the door.

A tall man with messy hair and charming face in pajama's opened the door saying, "who is this?".

my, you are so handsome." mom said placing her mouth on her face. "We are from your next door. I thought you would be busy, so I brought food for you", mom added.

He was like an idol and I couldn't help myself from not staring at him.

"huh-uh, thank you very much. I am Vikrant ", he said to my mom and caught me looking at me and glanced back to my mom.

As soon as our eyes met. I turned my eyes away. " I am Mrs. Mehra and this is my daughter Akriti and she is going to work at Dixit interiors next week” My mom said.

"oh hello, I work at the same place. Nice to you, it you have any queries about the company meet feel free to talk to me” he said looking into my eyes.

I could feel his stares waiting for me to reply. I didn't know what to say. I know I am being greedy but I do not want anyone to move into this house filled with my memories of Arnav.

"nice to meet you too". I said hesitantly and glanced at him. He was looking into my eyes and smiling. Luckily I got a call, now I can escape I thought.

"mom I need to go", I said and glanced at Vikrant who was still looking at me "uh- bye", I said and rush out of the house.

I could hear him say. “ it was really nice meeting you. see you soon kriti!".

My face flushed hearing his words see you soon "kriti'. Why did he call me that? We just met and he is already calling me with a nickname? And why is my face so hot?
