#4

Blades of grass waver in the wind

The word is unshakable

The earth trembles as it is shaken

To the remainder belongs everything

—————————————————

Blades of grass waver in the wind

Petals flow in a stream of colors on the breeze

In the valley a single oak true lies a swing I find

A tree that has stood for centuries and has not made a sound, not even heard a sneeze

Of all places, where could this be?

[The garden of Eden]

Title: Highschool

A door in front of me

Closed-

I cannot pass through it

An open door,

Behind me-

It requires a plea

Though it was more of an entrance fee

After that door

There were more

More doors waiting infront of me

A field of opportunities

————

Title: Snow Glass

An igloo looms in frosty air

Inside people live with detail and care

Every action is precise-

A mistake unaffordable on the ice

A glass floor clear

A gleam, a sheer-

A sheer, cold, sharp, clear-

A very pretty piece of ice

An ear up to the glassy ice

A deadly treat of the sea

An orca or seal can loom behind the-

The glass that is the ice

An unfogiving field of beauty-

Is not generous or nice

But stone cold asking for life’s price

—————————————————

A weed can take over a garden

But when thier flowers bloom

Cold intentions are vieled in beauty

Despite delicate petals they grow

Ever so fast they drop petals like snow

Fast and quick theirs lies pass

Golden memories fade, thorns grow

Happy turns to deadly in a moment

It is sudden but weeds are cruel

Jokers, they can be called, as they rule

Killers is what they are, killing others

Lying dormant until they can strike

Momentarily they last until they don’t

Not just one but two or three appear

Openly flying seeds on whisks of wind

Pollen is your enemy as they thrive

Quickly growing to produce offspring

Right when you think you have em’ all

Suddenly a weed grows strong and tall

Too many, no, weeds are just quick

Under the patio and the plant pots too

Violently you have to pull them out

When eventually. . . bye-bye \~Weeds

X-ray vision couldn’t be enough

Yellow petals in your neighbor’s yard

Zipper up, you go, “Hi, may I help you”?

A New Arrival

A boy born in September

Had his first birthday

His parents a lovely couple

Smiling all day

He has never seen his other family

Because the pandemic

It’s past his second birthday

His shoes are velcro

And he wears adorable attire

It’s just first day of daycare

His parents will miss him a long while

This baby boy is unique

But you should never ever speak-

Not the words, “you are special”

That makes him seem too unique

So instead he is raised strong not meek

It’s now past his fourth birthday

His mother sheds a tear

As he goes away-

To preschool-

His very first day

He grows up quickly

Now he is five

Boys usually redo kindergarten

He doesn’t need to

And goes to first grade with a smile

He learns to read and write

He is a smart child

His parents are proud

But his parents expected more time

It’s now past his twelfth birthday

He found out how to write fluently

In poetry

His parents are proud of him

They smile joyfully with glee

They thank God above for their son

They never once regretted it

Now the little boy is not so little

Past his fourteenth birthday

And in high school already

At seventeen he graduates high school

His mother and father both cry now

As he moves off to college

They want him to be safe and sound

He graduates college after many years

He earned his masters degree

His parents were so proud

He was so unique all the way round’

And thier little boy soon became more

More than they had dreamed

They dreamed for more time

But the tears they shed for their baby

We’re the tears of happiness and glee

For he made his way to the stars

Little Leo became Leonardo

A great man of great talent

His friends call him di Vinci

His parents will always be happy

He visits home as often as he can

Plays cards, lots of UNO, with his dad

His parents smile with glee

As a very content and happy family

His mother may be short with sass

And his father tall and comical

But they make a perfect match

And as Leo went along

He found a perfect match to his song

A woman, beautiful, faithful to the Lord

And then they themselves were a pair

Leonardo’s parents in the isle

As he went down the chapel

In New Orleans just as his parents did

With his extended family

A bride walks down the isle

She can’t help but smile

Her smile could be a crescent moon

So life goes on

Even if time passes too quickly

Even if we can’t go back

Life isn’t perfect

Life has its’ ups and downs

But the world is round

We go around and around

We go to the finish line

We go to each goal

Leonardo will too

Welcome to life, my dear nephew
