Bondage

Theo's death has struck the entire household with great devastation. Tesa held his hand and sang for hours despite him already dead. His body was buried 5 days after his death.

She cried for 7 days straight and was told by her father to stay in his (father) room to avoid her harming herself. The Marquis stayed his office for a week but comes out at night to greet his daughter goodnight. Ever since her twin brother's death she has not uttered a single word and only responds with a nod.

She was broken and lost. She considered herself guilty for her brother's death. She cried everytime she remembers him. Everynight she was haunted by the memory of the night of their birthday.

The Marquis did his all to cheer her up by bringing her gifts and treats, talking to her, and hiring a musician to perform for her but just like everytime she just nods and walks away.

It was like that for 5 month but one night rather than her usually nightmare of the night they were attacked but that night it was different.

She dreamt of herself standing in an empty plain. She was fascinated and curious. As she walked forward it was as if she's been in the same spot since nothing changed, but then she hurt a small thud.

Then she decided to yell, "Hello? Anyone there? I heard you, Show yourself!". Then a voices came rushing to her head and various clips of someone's memory.

"The next target is in NorthEnd Academy"

"We will be departing and make sure to bring him alive"

"What if that person is there?"

"Don't worry there is no chance that "that" person could have withstand the attack"

She sees that those people had the same symbol as those of the people who attached them and she the thought came to her head, "There is more of them? but dad said all 10 assaliants were lying dead on the floor when we were found, how could there be more, if they were really part of a group why would they target us?!". Then more memories flashed before her eyes.

"Theo, get down I can handle them"

"Vince, get Theo somewhere safe, he can't walk in that condition"

"But Daniel, we can't leave them alone with you"

"Nancy, please bring Theo somewhere safe, I have to stay here with Daniel."

"But my lord","Please, run, Daniel can't handle that many"

"I understand"

"Tesa, Please hold on, I know a place where we can hide"

"Theresa Fredrick, we meet again, its a pity for your brother to have sacrifice his life and ypu just end up dying in my hands, I would have spared you if you were obedient last time but it seems it will be easier if I killed you"

"Tesa! Let her go"

"screams*"

"tell your brother I send my regards"

After those words everything went blank. She then yelled to the emptiness,"What were those?! whose memories where those? Anyone! Someone! Please answer me!".

Then a sudden headache came and she closed her eyes in pain but the moment she opened her eyes she find herself in the place where her mother and brother were buried. She sees mother and brother sitting in the grass lawn talking to each other.

"Mommy, Theo, is that really you guys?", she asks. "Silly, who else could it be, come here let's have a talk" Theo responds. She sits beside them and their mother then tells her "How have you been Tesa?".

She answers, "It has been awful and it seemed as if I was at hell and I can't tell dad about it, he might feel guilty and it will make him sad so I have no one left to talk to it about.".The Marquise then tells her,"Tesa, me and Theo are here you can tell us."

" When you died I was devastated and sad but when I was sad people around me became even more sad so I smiled so that they won't feel bad but when I smile it only makes the pain even worse. The only things keeping me sane were the smiles of others liek dad's and the servants'.-

Theo was also sad but seeing him sad hurt me very much so I tried my best to make him smile. I tried so hard but one day he nearly jumped off the balcony but I held him tight and told him how I felt and since then he finally started to smile so I became happy and the pain was still there but it didn't hurt as much.-

Then our 14th birthday came and I was happy because dad said it would be a big celebration and I really wanted to make friends my age so I was so so excited.-

The day came and it was way better than I expected, the smiles of peole around me made me very happy it was as if the pain had gone away but later a group of assailants came and tried to kidnap me but brother came to save me.-

We thought we defeated them but they magically healed and they stabbed brother in the chest. I was too weak and afraid, I was powerless.-

Suddenly I felt a weird energy inside and then lost consciousness. When I woke up brother was in the brink of death and despite dad's efforts he still died. I felt as if I was the one who died and despite dad's efforts to make me smile the pain grew more painful as days past.-

I-I don't know what to do, I know very well how much dad is also suffering and yet doing his best to please me but it seems I don't have the willpower to do anything. Mommy, Theo, what should I do?!", she tells them as she releases all the pain she has been hiding.

After uttering those words the Marquise gives her a hug and tells her,"Tesa, I'm sorry you had to go through something like that but you can't give up, let mommy tell you a story, once upon a time there was a little chick, because it was special, it was never let out of its cage.-

Day by day the chick grew bigger and became a majestic phoenix, by that time it was the most powerful creature in the kingdom but becuase it was afraid of the outside world it had no knowledge about. -

It never left its cage so the little chick's life was spent all inside the cage until the day it passed away. It may not be the chick's freewill which decided to enter the cage but it was its decision to die inside it.-

Despite being the most powerful creature it was never able to reach its full potential since it was bounded, Not by the cage but by fear and its own self. Tesa, you are a very special child full of so much potential but if you chose to stay in that cage, your fate will be no different from that of the Phoenix."

"Mommy, you're right I will not stay in this cage. I will conquer my fears and insecurities. I will find the power to do so."she answers. "That's my girl, it seems our little meeting will be coming to an end, I think this means goodbye" she says as she starts to fade away.

"Take care of your father okay? make sure he knows how much we live him, and take care of yourself and always know you are stronger than you think are" she adds then fades away.

"Tesa, it seems I am also fading away so I will only tell you what is most important-",then he whispers in her ear and then she cries. "I believe in you Tesa, and remember I love you very much"he says before fading away and so she bids him farewell with a smile.
