Breakfast

I got out of bed and there was a low growl. I jumped and realize it was my tummy complaining that I was hungry. I made my way toward the bathroom, ready to get my day started.

I opened the white door and to my surprise, instead of the bathroom, the was a kitchen. There was a large countertop against the far wall. I approached the countertop, and to my surprise, a jade green color swirled into the clear marble. In the center of the countertop was an electric stove with a frying pan on it .

I looked to my left at the countertop, and I was surprised to see breakfast supplies materializing out of nowhere. What appeared in the formerly empty space was a wooden box of fresh picked of blueberries, three eggs, a carton of milk, and a bag of flour. On my left, a bowl with a whisk appeared on the counter.

I gathered all the ingredients and began to mix them. I started to dump small amounts of the batter into the frying pan. I turned the stove on to high.

As I watched the pancakes cook, a sad smile crept across my face. I had a sudden flashback where my wife, my daughter, and I went to a U-Pick Farm where we picked a pound of blueberries for pancakes for breakfast the next day. When we were checking out, I picked up a jar of blackberry honey and we headed home.

I remembered the next day our daughter awoke us by pouncing onto the bed and giving me the prettiest smile in the world. I reluctantly got myself out of bed soth a grumble and began to cook the pancakes in the shape of hearts. Once they were done, I put them on a plate that had peacock art on it. I put a couple of spoonfuls of the blackberry honey on to the pancakes and added a smiley face with whipped cream.

I suddenly snapped out of it when I saw the pancakes had shaped into the form of a single heart. "What a coincidence," I thought to myself.

I took my breakfast out of the pan, and I took out a plate with a bird that I couldn't describe because I had never seen one on earth. A table had formed with one chair pulled out in the center of the room.

I sat down, and whipped cream and honey appeared next to me. I put the honey and the whipped cream on the pancake, and the honey and whipped cream containers disappeared.

Suddenly a glass of orange juice took form on the table, and I started with a swig of that. It was cool when it passed my lips. Then a fork and knife appeared, and I gobbled the heart pancake down. By the last bite, I was stuffed.

I went back to the counter with my dishes, and there where the stove once was, there was a sink. I washed the plate and fork and knife, and they dissipated.

I turned back to the main room and opened the white door. I went through it into my room, closed the door behind me, and realized how late it was.

I was sure I must have zoned out, so I decided to go back to bed. I shut my eyes. "Hey dad, I found this puppy." Subconsciously I thought to myself, "Oh no, you poor creature."
