A battle for myself.

Nanami and Devin

looked at each other in the center of an arena , it was fancied with

stone just high enough to their waists. “Brother what kind of

battle are we having today?” he looked to her “You have to use

these today” he grabbed a body suit and two sword hilts “mock

battle to the death” she looked confused “brother I am sorry I

dont understand what you mean , why do we want to do this ? He petted

her “there are some thing I will wait to tell you when you pass,

dear sister” they stood at arms length from eachother “lets get

this thing started,” it was as if his sword flung out as he turned

around to face her once he was ample distance from her. She prepared

herself “Sister one thing any hits will shock your body depending

on tactic and damage that would inflict a same amount of pain.” she

began to think on this “” if brother is serious about this like

this I think I might be in trouble” her ears folding back to her

body, her tail swaying behind her “I am ready” it seemed like a

long time before anything happened both waiting to see who would make

the first attack, placing themselves in a light disadvantage “We

aint got all day!” Nanami dashed at Devin ‘Brother you always

tried to “teach me how to defend myself” she swung the hilt at

his side, he jumped back dodging her swing “Fast as ever sister,

do you think you can actually beat me?” she smirked jumping into

the air swinging her sword at the floor of his feet, “but I think

today is the day you are actually giving me the motivation to beat you m

brother” she hit the floor causing him to be covered in dirt,

swirling with the hilt, her feet kicking him in the face, making him

fall back “Oh sister you always did try to go for cheap shots “

Nanami took her hilt up and threw the hilt at his head making him

have a shock to his brain, making him foam at the mouth, it was a

minute till he was able to function, it was barely enough time for

he to pick up her hilt, “Brother your finished” but she was too

sure of herself. “Sorry, sister” He plunged his hit into her

shoulder making her fall to the floor from the painful shock. “Hmm”

she was holding her shoulder rolled over and flipped to her feet

“Time to get serious,”” I don't want to feel that again” she

rubbed her shoulder “I have to end this quick brother” Nanami was

looking around and new she could go further out to distract him,

jumping to the trees hiding and shifting through the leaves. Devin

catching up to her “Oh sister now your starting to think” he got

excited “Still your so silly I can beat all of our brother's skills

“ he began to listen to pinpoint her location, she was still thou

and let the trees hide her as if she was part of nature. “Brother

why don't you tell me about my past?” she looked as if she really

wanted to know “Sister after we see if you are ready “ He looked

all the way around then threw some sleeping darts aimlessly hoping it

might hit her, but it didn’t. Nanami sighed and grabbed out of her

pocked a smoke bomb, covering the ground in a quick smoke, where she

stabbed the hilt into where his heart would be, but in that instant

he moved to let her hit the tree, “sister a cheap trick won't work

on an expert” he laughed as they both seemed equally into the

battle “Oh brother why did you dodge were you afraid it would hurt

?” she taunted him knowing he had to be in one of the trees “Sister

still trying to taunt your older brother?” he smacked down clearing

the dust “AHHH!” Nanami slammed down from the tree and hit him

knocking him back to the floor making him pass out from the strike.

It was now dawn

and everyone was waiting around a quiet table waiting for Devin to

wake up “So no ones going to tell me?” she was a little upset

having to wait since it was already a long time that she felt she was

keeping secrets “I proved I was ready“ Devin walking down the

stairs “Sister, I will tell you.” he looked sad at her holding

her hands “You are a goddess and a sun clans chieftains daughter”

she looked at him confused “Oh come on don’t play such a joke,

isn't ten years or long enough to keep things to me. John slapping

the table “Your mother is a Nekojin and she was executed to bring

you out of your clan town.Melly spoke “ Nanami, you are our

friend reborn since your father killed the previous goddess” she

can't make sense of anything of their saying and almost refuses to

hear it “Why are you guys playing around!” she was confused and

more unsure, when her brother grabbed her hands off of her ears “I

know It to be true because you are you, but I see her in you, you

are definitely her, from the way you look, the laugh, the giggle…..”

she looked up at him “Brother why do you look at me like that, with

eyes that are dead” she cried seeing that it was true “Brother...”

he looked at her and smiled “Because I loved her, now things can

never be the same..” she hugged him “I am your sister I still

love you brother” he petted her “I know you do but in your other

life you were my beloved and It fate that you are here, I couldn't

protect you in your previous life but this time I won't let you go

out in the world unprepared for the evils of this world.” she

covered her face in disbelief, one by one they left the room leaving

Henna’s note on the table. She grabbed the letter going to her room

to read it. “This can't be true ?” she debated by herself “they

must be crazy!” she held her breath before letting out her

frustrations out on her lips “Why would you hide something like

that” she covered her face falling asleep on Henna’s letter.

Devin stepping in her room “Sister I have done all I can teach you”

he kissed her forehead “But I must do one thing, this must be the

last time I will see you “ leaving a letter on the desk as well. He

left the room, she watched him, viewing him with hazy blurry eyes

“Brother...”
