There’s no place he’d rather be right now. The girl that seemed to understand him the most was wrapped up in his arms, laughing with him and he felt like for the first time in a long time, everything was right where it’s supposed to be. In fact, he was so happy that he didn’t seem to notice the pair of eyes that were watching the both of you from afar.

“Well, if it isn’t Mr. Jung Hoseok,” Mr. Jeon says as he leans back in his chair and rests his feet on his desk.
“Sir,” Hoseok says as he bows.
“Had enough of being posted at that side town?”
“Yes, sir. I think I’ve served enough time there.”
“What makes you think I’ll have you back at headquarters after that failure with Y/N 2 years ago?”
“Well… you’re working on figuring out diadem aren’t you?”
“What do you know about diadem?”
After Hoseok broke things of with you, he told Mr. Jeon that he had failed in getting any information out of you. To be perfectly honest, you had absolutely no idea about the inner workings of Y/N Logistics and this whole operation was a bust anyway. Hoseok knew though that if he stayed in the city, he’d bound to run into you so, he lied to Mr. Jeon, saying that you had an inkling of Hoseok’s true intentions and Mr. Jeon then decided to banish him to one of the side offices in a nearby town.
Although it was a small town, Hoseok enjoyed his time there. It gave him time to heal and to forget about you. Every month, Hoseok took a trip back to the city to visit his parents and catch up with old friends. He’d kind of forgotten all about you and your family with time. He had pushed the incident so far back into his mind that it was almost as if you never existed but the universe…. The universe just loved to torture him.
It was a relatively hot day in the city and Hoseok decided to get himself a smoothie to cool down. As he picked up his drink he spotted a young brown haired male sitting in the corner of the shop. Kim Taehyung. 2 years ago, Hoseok had taken it upon himself to befriend Taehyung by frequenting his favourite shops and attending coding conventions (even if he had zero knowledge about coding) just so he could grow closer to him. At the time, he was an essential piece to the puzzle because Hoseok had heard murmurings that Taehyung would be the one who was in charge of the safety of all high security level information at Y/N Logistics.
“Taehyung?”
“Hoseok? Buddy, where have you been?” Taehyung looks absolutely shocked but he quickly recovers. He stands up and pulls Hoseok in for a quick hug.
“Ahh, my job sent me to a remote town so I’ve kind of been off the grid for a while.” Hoseok answers with a slight smile.
“It’s been almost 2 years, no? Since I last saw you.”
“Just about I guess… How have you been?”
“Argh, I had the worst day yesterday. I used to work on this project called diadem and—“ Taehyung pauses for a while and he furrows his eyebrows worriedly. “a-and it’s just a mess… but whatever seeing an old friend like you almost outweighs that whole situation.” He continues with a smile.
Taehyung continues talking about his current job and how he’s been in general but Hoseok had zoned out the moment he heard diadem.
Diadem.
“My dad you know he has a slight obsession with our family code. Diadem. Each letter in the word stands for something and… I’m boring you aren’t I?” You said as you looked at your feet.
To tell you the truth, Hoseok hadn’t really been paying attention to all that you were saying. Here at the lookout point, you looked absolutely gorgeous as your skin bathed in the moonlight. He didn’t want to hear about your family because it reminded him of how getting closer to you was supposed to be a job. He wanted to think that in this moment, it was just you and him and nothing else.
“No, no… I’m listening. Family code. Diadem. But… Y/N let’s talk about something else. Let’s talk about you. Talk about your dreams… like where do you see yourself in 2 years?”
“I see myself… with you.” You reply sheepishly.
“So, how have you been then?” Taehyung asks. Hoseok quickly snaps out of his daze and returns his full attention to the young man seated in front of him.
“Huh? Me? Well, good enough I guess,” He says a little unconvincingly. “Listen, I’ve got to get going but I’ll see you soon alright?” Hoseok says as he gets up and waves Taehyung goodbye.
The train ride back to his home in the neighbouring town seemed to take forever. Flashback after flashback kept replaying in Hoseok’s head and a sharp pain seemed to settle in his heart. Hearing the words diadem reminded him of the time when he had first arrived at his new office. Everything reminded him of you and he’d come so close to calling you. His finger hovering over your contact number almost every night. He’d switch off his phone and pulled the covers up, stifling sobs as he tried to catch some shut-eye. Here he was 2 years later and he was back at square one.
A few days after the run-in with Taehyung he saw news articles online of you with Jeon Jungkook by your side.
The End of a Long Standing Rivalry?
At the Golden Gala last night, the youngest of both the Y/L/N and Jeon family were spotted together. They both belong to the families behind logistic giants, Y/L/N Logistics and Jeon Logistics respectively. Most in the upper echelon are no strangers to the intense rivalry between both companies. Perhaps, with a new generation comes a new change?
There was a rather large picture attached of you & Jungkook standing side by side. Jungkook’s hand was resting on your waist and Hoseok felt green with envy. Hoseok had to stay away from you and break up with you all because of his ties with Jeon Logistics and there stood the man, the very son of Mr. Jeon holding you while you had on the largest smile he had ever seen. She isn’t mine, he would tell himself but he couldn’t stand seeing you with someone else. Especially not with Jeon Jungkook.
He sat there contemplating the situation when he realized that… Jungkook was doing to you what Hoseok had done to you 2 years ago. His mind flashed back to Taehyung talking about the diadem project, which could only mean that it had to do with Y/N Logistics. It’s a mess, Taehyung had said. Then suddenly of all people, you’re pictured here with Jeon Jungkook.
Mr. Jeon must be using Jungkook to get information about diadem.
All feelings of jealousy that he felt bubbling inside him seemed to dissipate. He knew how he could get you back. He wanted to be there for you when Jungkook broke your poor little heart, he wanted to pick up the pieces. He wanted you to let him in again.
Soon after his discovery of the whole diadem plan, Hoseok went back to the city to meet an old friend. He thought maybe he could go have a word with his boss while he was in the city too. He took his old friend, Jisoo to the coffee shop a few blocks from his parent’s home and when he walked in he glanced over and saw a familiar face. It can’t be. You were standing alone and you quickly turned around when you met his gaze. It was you.
“Y/N? Is that you?” He called out, finally seeing you for the first time after that fateful night.
Then your lips were on some other man’s and Hoseok’s face fell. It was Jeon Jungkook. Hoseok quickly navigates his way through the line, dragging a confused Jisoo along with him. He stood there awkwardly waiting for both you and Jungkook to pull away from each other.
After the awkward exchange of greetings, he threw question after question towards the both of you but Jungkook answered almost all of them. Hoseok felt like punching Jungkook when he saw him resting his hand on your waistline and then you would look up at him with dreamy eyes and Hoseok felt intense anger bubbling up within him. He wanted to scream right there and then. He’s using you Y/N! Can’t you see? But that would only make him a villain, that wouldn’t make you come running back to him so, he simply tried to block out all the intimate actions that you were sharing with Jungkook. He continued badgering the both of you with questions because he just needed to know how hard you’ve actually fallen for the man standing next to you. Hoseok didn’t stay for long though because he could feel Jisoo fidgeting beside him so he left feeling slightly unsatisfied.
After a short lunch with Jisoo, they soon parted ways and Hoseok made his way to the park. It was the one place in the city where he could spot the lookout point… the one he shared with you. He sat on the bench, reminiscing all the times he brought you on those little adventures. He loved the way you smiled at all the little things in life. You always said that he was like sunshine to you and likewise, to him you were his sun. You brought pure happiness into his life and he cherished every second with you. He smiles at the thought of having you back in his arms again. This time, he would be free of guilt and this time, he’d never let you go.
He leaves the bench to make his way to the subway station that would lead to Jeon Logistics HQ. Then, he hears an all too familiar sound. The warm sound of your laughter filling up the air and it surprises him. He turns around to look for the source and he sees you in the distance, wrapped up in Jungkook’s arms. He’s planting small kisses on your cheeks and Hoseok has to dig his heel into the ground to stop himself from walking over to physically pull the both of you apart. He turns away from the scene and walks toward the subway station with even more determination now.
“I know that it’s their family code. A collection of things Mr. Y/L/N thinks are important. Each letter has a story behind it.”
Mr. Jeon nods, slightly impressed by the young man before him.
“Also, smart move… getting your youngest to date Y/N so you can break the code.”
“Date Y/N?” Mr. Jeon questions. He shakes his head disappointedly while pinching the bridge of his nose. “The boy actually has feelings for her?”
“You mean… you’re not behind this? That he’s dating her under his own accord?” Hoseok asks with tightly clenched fists.
“My youngest… he’s always been a weak one. Even if I asked him to, he’d never agree to the plan.”
Hoseok looks down dejectedly. This day really didn’t seem to be turning out the way he wanted to at all.
“I’m moving you back to HQ. Since you’re already familiar with diadem, we won’t have to involve anyone new.” Mr. Jeon adds.
Hoseok was beaming at the mention of moving back to HQ. Sure, his plan took a little detour but his end goal was still in sight. He would do anything in his power to make sure you were his again.
3 months later
“Y/N, let’s go on a roadtrip!” Jungkook asks excitedly as he takes his place next to you on the couch.
You looked up from the book in your hand to see Jungkook looking back at you with a wide smile. “Right now?” You ask.
“Yes… right now! It’ll be fun!”
“Jungkook, let’s just have a lazy day please?” You say as you set down your book to wrap your arms around him.
Jungkook grunts in annoyance and pulls you away from him by your shoulders.
“Aw babe, don’t be mad it’s just that I’m tired and—“
A shrill scream leaves your throat as you feel Jungkook get up and lift you over his shoulders. You thrash around, demanding him to put you down but he carries you out of the house and sets you down in the passenger seat of his car before coming around to the driver’s seat.
You fumble around with the door handle but Jungkook had child-locked the car the moment he entered.
“Y/N, please stop. It’ll be really fun, I promise.” He says as he holds your hand in his.
You let out a huff of annoyance, crossed your arms and sank back into your seat. “Where are we going though?”
“You’ll see… you’ll love it!”
You try your best to maintain your sulky face but when Jungkook starts singing along to the songs on the radio much too excitedly, you can’t help but smile at the dork sitting next to you.
It had been 3 months since the day Jungkook confessed to you in the park and everything about being with him had been perfect. The both of you took it slow and Jungkook would always show affection in the sweetest way. The relationship the both of you had were not about grand gestures but rather small ones every now and then which you thoroughly appreciated. The days he came back early to cook dinner at your house with you were your favourite because you liked the way it made your house feel like a home. It would always take extra long to get dinner out because you would both get sidetracked, kissing each other and essentially forgetting about the vegetables that were on the stove. The dinner would taste mediocre but it didn’t matter when you had him sitting across from you, sneering at you as the both of you throw the burnt vegetables at each other.
Sure, the both of you were sweet with each other but then the two of you still maintained that child-like competition of who can do it better. You two would line the floor with mattresses to have a wrestling match or have swimming competitions in the lake. Everyone in town would be utterly confused with the relationship the two of you had because you would be bickering like 5 year olds one second and then staring at each other with dreamy eyes the next but they found you two cute nonetheless. All the ladies in town would tell you how jealous they were that Jungkook was yours and he would blush beet red. He would only pull you close and attempt to hide behind you.
After a 2-hour drive, you had arrived at the place Jungkook wanted to show you so badly. He had brought you to this place specifically because he knew how much you loved the sea. It was beautiful, it really was. It was a small seaside town, littered with cliffs but the main attraction was the volcanic cone standing proud a little off the mainland. You thought he had brought you there simply to look at it from afar but of course he wanted to climb it. You protested at first but he flashed you those puppy eyes and you couldn’t say no. Plus, the climb didn’t look that bad… but oh you were so wrong.
“Y/N, come on, hurry up!”
“Jungkook, you said this would be fun,” You said as you put your hand on your knees, trying to catch your breath. “I wanted a lazy day, not a goddamn workout.”
“This is fun!” He emphasizes. “The view will be worth it come on.” He said as he walks back towards you to pull you forward by your hand.
For the last stretch, Jungkook offers to carry you and you didn’t even hesitate for one second before accepting. You reached the top still perched on his back and he was right… the view was magnificent. You close your eyes and took a deep breath. The peak of the volcano cone was actually a crater and green grass covered the vast expanse of it. The smell of the sea breeze mixed with the dew that sat on the grass seemed to linger in your nostrils and a wave of calmness washed over you. Jungkook sets you down and you took each step cautiously almost as if you were afraid of destroying the beauty that this place held. When you looked beyond the edge of the crater, you saw the sea, glistening under the sun and you wondered who was so capable of creating such beauty. The cliffs and rock formations in the distance were coated with some slight sea fog and it only added to the mysterious beauty of the quaint seaside town. Everywhere you turned, there was a sight to behold.
“Jungkook…. This is amazing…” You say wide-eyed with wonder.
Jungkook only smiles in return, delighted to see your awe-struck face. You continue wandering around, still at a loss of words to describe the sheer beauty you were witnessing. You could hear the waves crashing against the side of the volcanic cone and the seagulls cawing as they perch themselves on the edges of the crater. You didn’t know how to describe it but the smell and the sight of the sea, of everything just made you feel free. You took dozens of photos but no matter what, you couldn’t help but feel like the pictures could never encapsulate neither the view or the way you were feeling right now. It was simply one of those places where you physically had to be there to appreciate it all.
Back on the mainland, the both of you sat down at the café that had a clear view of the volcano cone. You looked out the window and you felt at peace. With a warm drink in one hand and your other sitting in Jungkook’s hand, you felt like if there was ever a moment you could relive, it’d be this one. It was a simple moment, nothing particularly special about it but there was an undeniable calmness about it.
“So, why the spontaneous trip? Going through a mid-life crisis already?” You ask cheekily.
Jungkook lets out a light laugh and continues toying with your fingers before lifting his eyes to meet yours. “You know, most girls would be extremely happy if their boyfriend took them on a spontaneous trip but here you are thinking I’m going through some psychological crisis.”
You smile in response. “You remind me of my dad,” You state nonchalantly.
Jungkook furrows his brows and a look of worry takes over his features because he knows your dad isn’t very fond of you and the feeling was mutual for you.
“No, I mean in a good way!” You quickly say when you realize how troubled Jungkook looked.
“My dad, he always talked about how we should be risk-takers. He always said how life should be an adventure,” You explained. “He once told me about the time where he eloped to Costa Rica with my mum and it was a trip that changed both their lives. I mean they got married sure, but the trip… it opened their eyes to a different way of life,” You say as you recall the smile your dad had on when he told you the very same story. It was a glimpse of what you considered to be your dad’s true self, a side of him you rarely got to see.
“My sister told me that he wasn’t always this cold… That he was a much nicer person to be around when she was younger. I wished I could’ve seen what he used to be like.”
“What do you think made him change?”
“Me,” You sigh. “It was me,” You confirm. “After my birth, he became extremely guarded and he established our family code, diadem. It’s almost as if he’s afraid he’s going to lose everything in an instant.”
Jungkook frowns at your explanation but curiosity creeps up on him and he can’t help but ask, “What’s diadem?”
“You know how from time to time I tell you things my dad thinks are important? Yeah, so like the E in diadem stands for elope. The story behind each letter are values we should hold together as a family.”
“What? That’s so cool…” Jungkook says fascinatedly. “Do you think I can get my family to do one? Wait, tell me everything. Tell me about each letter!” He exclaims excitedly.
You laugh at how interested Jungkook seems to be in your family code. Almost as if he’s ready to take down notes. You explain each letter in detail and Jungkook listens intently, nodding his head as he tries to commit everything to memory.
Tucked away in a corner booth, sat Mr. Jeon and Junghyun. They had requested Jimin to meet them at this quiet diner to further discuss their plans. It had been a long 3 months since he had been contacted by them. He had hoped perhaps that they had forgotten all about diadem but he knew very well that they didn’t. There had been a surge of upcoming logistic companies and just like Y/L/N Logistics, the Jeons were working hard to either crush their competition or buy them up. The Y/L/N had little to worry about since they were the industry’s leader but Jeon Logistics was starting to crumble slightly under the pressure hence forcing Mr. Jeon to turn his attention away from the business to finally complete what he had started all those months ago.
Jimin entered the diner quietly. He clenched his fists to stop his hands from shaking and walked towards the two men dressed in suits. He was so afraid that at any time, he’d run into your brother and everything would come crashing down. He needed your family to know that he was doing this against his own will. He needed to guarantee that the truth would be told.
“Park Jimin,”
“Mr. Jeon,” Jimin greets as he bows.
Mr. Jeon motions for Jimin to take a seat and signals for the waitress to come over with the menus.
In his seat, Jimin glances over at Junghyun to see him preoccupied with the drinks menu. His hand reaches up for Junghyun’s phone and replaces it with a decoy, silently hoping that no one saw anything.
“So, are we all ready to order?” the waitress says, with a high-pitched voice that startles Jimin. The three men collectively nod and murmur.
Jimin opts for water because he’s so nervous right now that if he had anything else, he was sure that his stomach would reject it. Jimin sits quietly, hands fumbling at the phone under the table as he waits for the waitress to bring their drinks while Mr. Jeon and Junghyun talk about trivial company matters.
The waitress comes soon enough with their drinks on a tray. Before she leaves the table, she sends Jimin a wink but he’s too stressed out to even notice. His palms begin to sweat as he hears Mr. Jeon start speaking to him.
Mr. Jeon begins detailing each step of the plan and Jimin listens intently. The phone in his hands long forgotten as he thinks about his upcoming chance at putting everything behind him. His freedom was so close he could almost taste it but he needed to be sure that it was true. He needed to know that he’d be free from the Jeons’ grasps after this final task.
“So, that’s about it.” Mr. Jeon concludes as he clasps his hands together. “I trust that you won’t mess up because that would be a very unfortunate situation.”
“Y-Yes, sir. But how exactly are you planning to get the code?” Jimin asks, trying to prolong the conversation. Hidden by the tablecloth, his hands are still fumbling around with the back cover of Junghyun’s phone.
“Never mind that. Just do as you’re told and all will be fine.” Mr. Jeon says. Both Mr. Jeon and Junghyun look at each other as if agreeing that it was time to leave.
“Wait!” Jimin pleads. He looks around, afraid that he’s spoken a little too loudly. The two men send Jimin a warning glare. Jimin ducks his head before speaking again in a soft tone.
“You promise that I’m free after this right?”
Jimin finally succeeds at inserting the bug, placing the cover back on. With the phone in hand, he places both of his palms on the table calmly and leans closer towards Mr. Jeon to whisper, “You’ll delete everything you have on me right?”
“Yes, Jimin.” He says with a slight laugh. “I’m cruel but I’m not that cruel,” He continues as he pats Jimin on the back. Jimin smiles awkwardly and moves to swipe the decoy off the table nonchalantly. After bidding Jimin farewell, Junghyun reaches for his phone and leaves the diner with his father.
As soon as he hears the sound of their footsteps fade away, he sighs in relief and smirks to himself.
“Babe, I won’t be home for dinner today. My family’s been up my *** for missing all those family brunches so I’m going to meet them for dinner alright?” Jungkook says as he pets Buster.
You let out a grunt to let him know that you heard him as you were too focused on your current wood carving piece to answer him properly. You had been working tirelessly on this piece because your client had agreed to pay a very hefty price for some detailed work. You needed the money badly because you hated owing people. Jungkook had brushed away the topic of Buster’s surgery fees numerous times but you wouldn’t take no for an answer. You were so close, just $200 more and you would have the lump sum. All you needed to do was finish this piece.
Your brows were furrowed and your tongue poking out of the corner of your lips as you concentrated on adding the finishing touches on what has been your hardest piece to date. Jungkook loved how passionate you were whenever you decided to put your mind to anything. He quickly took out his phone to snap a picture of you. He stared lovingly at the picture and then back at you. He’d seen you turn normal pieces of wood into art many times but it never got old. Just watching you never got old. They always said that you know you’re in love when you start loving the other person despite their flaws and Jungkook scoffed at the idea of that but as he looks at you now, he can’t help but agree with that idea. To him, everything about you was perfect so much so that he couldn’t understand how your family could just brush you aside like that.
Jungkook bows at his family and then reluctantly takes a seat at the family dinner table. He hadn’t been home in a long time and he hadn’t missed it one bit.
“Jungkook honey, I haven’t seen you in so long.” His stepmother says as she reaches for his hand from across the table. “Where have you been?”
“Sleeping with the enemy,” Junghyun says with a light smirk.
Jungkook rolls his eyes at his older brother. “I’ve just been busy with work… mum.”
“Don’t overwork yourself yeah? But also you know you should always make time for family no matter how busy you get,” She says as she gave his hand a light squeeze.
Jungkook looked away, feeling a little guilty for missing all the family brunches but he simply couldn’t stand being questioned about you and the reason as to why he was with you every time he attended one. No matter what he said, the conversation always ended with his family expressing their disdain for you and he defended you, he always did but he knew that they would never listen to what he had to say.
Mr. Jeon finally takes his seat at the large table which signaled the start of dinner. The food was amazing as always and the wine was especially good tonight. Perhaps, Jungkook felt that way since he hadn’t had a meal in this house for months now but something deep down in his gut told him otherwise.
Light conversation between the four of them continued throughout the night and to Jungkook’s surprise there was no mention of you. Jungkook was on his third glass of wine and was waiting for the classic sentence of Jungkook, I think you’ve had enough for tonight but it never comes. On his fifth glass of wine, Jungkook gets a little too talkative and Mr. Jeon and Junghyun share a look with each other before nodding.
“So, Jungkook… How’s Y/N?” Mr. Jeon questions.
Ah, there it is. In his hazy mind that was beginning to throb lightly due to the amount of alcohol that he had consumed, he felt like he should be cautious now as he detected an odd tone behind his father’s voice but he pushed that thought down to reply him anyway.
“She’s great, amazing, why?”
“Well seems like the two of you are really getting along… so why don’t we get to know her better?”
“So you mean you want me to bring her over… or something? To meet you guys?” Jungkook questions his father nervously.
“Before that, just let us know what she’s like I guess…” Junghyun cuts in. He glances down at the paper in his hand, silently counting the dashes in his head. “Like, I don’t know… what’s her favourite island?”
“Ko Lipe!” Jungkook exclaims excitedly. “Which is mine too coincidentally.”
Junghyun fits the word into the dashes and smiles to himself. Perfect.
“Look at that, it’s like you’re made for each other,” Junghyun says with a smile. “What’s her favourite animal then?”
“Dogs, she loves dogs. Especially her dog, Buster! You should all meet him. I swear you’ll love him too,” Jungkook says giddily.
Junghyun glances down at the paper, 5 dashes. Dog doesn’t fit and neither does Buster. He lets out a sad sigh. He had truly hoped that he would be getting all the answers tonight. Jungkook had continued on, talking about Buster but both Junghyun and Mr. Jeon had tuned out of the conversation leaving only his stepmum who was trying her best to pretend she was interested.
Junghyun sets the small piece of paper down in frustration as he gets up to stretch. Now, they would have to rely on Jimin to get the information but the boy was so jumpy that he knew your brother would figure him out in seconds. He wanted to go to bed so he could sleep away the feeling of disappointment.
Jungkook picks up the small piece of paper and his eyes widen. Junghyun freezes, afraid that Jungkook might suspect something now.
“Diadem. You know about the Y/L/N family code too? Are we getting a family code too? I was just telling Y/N the other day that—“
Junghyun’s ears perks up at the mention of family code and he quickly straightens himself up to interrupt his brother.
“Yeah you know they’re so successful… they must be doing something right so I thought why not pick up their code. Do you know it well?” Junghyun asks. A smile slowly growing on his face as he feels hope creep back into his heart. For the first time in his life, he’s actually thrilled by the fact that his brother was such a lightweight.
“Yeah, I’m obsessed!” Jungkook says as he points to the paper. He recites the code excitedly and Mr. Jeon and Junghyun look at each other with wide smiles. Mr. Jeon smirks to himself thinking about how easy it was to get things out of Jungkook… secretly glad that Jungkook played no part at all in Jeon Logistics. The plan was back on track and Mr. Jeon could just smell the money that was about to come his way.
Jungkook goes on to talk about you, about how much he loves the way you carry yourself and about how much you meant to him. Anyone looking at Jungkook right now could tell he was love-struck and in fact Junghyun felt like if he heard anymore, he would vomit.
Jungkook reaches for his wine glass. “She’s just amazing… you know?” He says dreamily. He brings the glass to his lips and Junghyun quickly snatches the glass from his grasp.
“No, no. I think you’ve had enough.”
Jungkook pouts and tries to grab for the glass again.
Junghyun pats his brother on the head and tries to steer Jungkook’s attention back to Y/N.
“Ah, our little Jungkookie is in love isn’t he? Don’t worry. If I were your age, I’d be with Y/N too.”
Jungkook frowns at this brother’s statement.
“Except for an entirely different reason.”
Junghyun lifts an eyebrow and nods his head.
“Information,” He simply states.
“I’m just not that kind of person. I can’t do that… I can’t imagine myself pretending to like her just so I can get information out of her. I mean not just her but just anyone,” Jungkook states adamantly
“That’s why I’m vice president of the company and you’re not even on the payroll,” Junghyun says as he prods his brother’s cheeks.
Jungkook stands up, ready to throw a punch at his brother when his father’s booming voice stops him.
“I think this has been a great dinner and that you should be getting home, son,” Mr. Jeon says. “Considering your state… we’ll just get the driver to send you home.”
Jungkook lets his head hang lowly. He knew he had way too much to drink tonight. He probably made a fool out of himself tonight, gushing about you but he won’t remember half of what he said tomorrow anyway so it didn’t bother him. He lets himself out of the house after bowing to his family. He gets into the back seat of the car letting out a deep breath as he finally makes his way home back to you.
The front door closes and a menacing smile grows on both Mr. Jeon and Junghyun’s face.
“Did you get all of that?” Mr. Jeon asks.
The earpieces in both Mr. Jeon and Junghyun’s ears crackles.
“Yes, sir. I heard it all loud and clear. I have the code written down too.” Hoseok responds.
“Alright then, let’s call Jimin and end all of this tonight.”
