5. A busy afternoon

I ended up having lunch with Nathan and his friends, they were all so nice. They didn't hesitate to help, unlike one person in particular *cough* Ethan. We talked about anything and everything, they made me feel comfortable around them... Then they mentioned something which sparked my interest:

"hey, Nathan? Found anyone for the football team this year?" said one of his friends

"there are quite a few interested, but I dunno, there's nothing, how would you say it, interesting? I guess..." Nathan replied

"I see, you haven't had much luck then"

"not really, but it is only the first day back..." Nathan said

"true, true..."

"hey, wait up a sec, Nathan? You're in charge of the football team?" I asked

"yep, interested?" Nathan asked playfully

"definitely!" I said

"so you've played before? How long? You any good?" he asked, seemingly interested

"yeah, I played all through middle school, before that even, and I was on my high school team. If I'm any good, that's for you to find out" I smirked

"now, I'm interested!" he said "what about a little game after school? So we can really see how good you are!" he said

"I'm down, I accept your challenge!" I said enthusiastically

"am I hearing about a 1 vs 1 this evening?Emma vs Nathan? I'd love to see that"

Arthur appeared out of no-where. He seemed really interested about this match. I was so exited. I hadn't played seriously since before the summer holidays.

"don't worry Emma. I'll go easy on you!" replied Nathan

"why would you go easy on me. There's no need. I'm ready for this!" I told him

"so enthusiastic! Haven't seen anyone win a 1 vs 1 against Nathan, but you can try." said Arthur

"you trying to get my hopes down or something, because that's not happening!" I got really exited

We all laughed so hard right then. It was almost to hard to stop!!

Once we had all finished lunch, we headed out to the schools stadium. It had an athletics track on the outskirts of it, and in the center, my pride and joy, there was a football field.

"this is where our little competition will be held" said Nathan

"alright." I said confidently

We decided to go to the bleachers of the stadium, we continued to talk about some things.

I was sat down in one of the bottom bleachers. I sat down, my back turned to the field. We talked for about ten minutes until: someone was approaching, I knew who it was. I kept my back turned to him. Nathan who was on one of the top bleachers elbowed Arthur who was next to him. I felt a hand on my left shoulder:

"what do you want Ethan?" I stared at him

"hmm? Oh nothing" he said with a smile

I looked at him from over my shoulder.

"if you won't answer to that, then why are you here?" I asked calmly.

He just shrugged his shoulders and tightened his grip. I flinched a little, wich seemed to please him. He continued to smile, his grin growing incredibly wider, a bit creepy.

The other guys just sat there, not intervening, since nothing serious had happened. They were letting me handle the situation, which I found nice.

I then proceeded to turn around, so I was looking directly at him.

"it would be great if you could loosen your grip or even let go completely, and leave me alone while you're at it" I said

No reaction.

"Ethan let go!" I told severely

Still no reaction, he even tightened his grip. Staring at me straight in the eyes. He had an amused look.

From behind him I saw two figures. They were, Ein and Lucas. Both approached me with amused looks.

"really? Reinforcements? What stunt are you trying to pull here?" I asked

"you'll have to find out!" he laughed

I saw Nathan stand up but I gave him a quick reassuring look. He understood, and backed of. What the three didn't know is that my father, was trained in martial arts, he tought me self defence.

Ethan still had a tight grip my shoulder. Ein and Lucas got close, and each grabed an arm.

"you know that this is harassement, at this point" I said

All three of them looked at each other and laughed.

"you know what, fine. I didn't want to do this but, what choice do i have?" I said

"what are you going to do girlie? You're traped, you have no-where to go? A mouse in a wolf's claws." he answered "pity!" he then laughed amongst his trio

"is that what you think?" I said

I didn't give him time to respond. I kicked Lucas in the stomach. Freing my right arm. I then punched Ein in the face. I ducked down avoiding one of his punches. Freing my left arm from Ein and my left shoulder from Ethan. I kicked Ein to the ground and punched Ethan in the stomach. Lucas managed to get up and I kicked him in the balls. Ethan sat up and I punched him in the nose for good measure. Once they were all out cold, I turned back to the guys. They were all shocked.

The bell rang.

"I'll go tell a supervisor that they're out here. I'll just tell them that they were harassing me and that I took care of them. Which is the truth. Don't mention to anyone that you were here with me, I was alone, minding my own business and reading a book." I told them "I'll see you all later for the match" I smiled

I then walked away, going to class.

~The Guys POV~

"she is extremely surprising" said Arthur

"I agree" said Nathan

"we better get out of here if we want Emma's plan to work" replied Arthur

"good idea" answered Nathan

They took one last look at the three bullies on the floor and left.
