Chapter 5

Satomi's pov

He's different; after we got ready for the day he sent out a notice to the people to gather for the big announcement

Then we went to a dress maker who took my measurements. Anytime she got too close for comfort he'd glare holes in her head and growl

"Are you finished now?"

"Y-yes your highness" the woman said sweating profoundly and fidgeting nervously

"Good, now leave" he demanded

She got up and ran out while I just stared blankly at them

"Satomi?"

"Hm?"

He gave me an unimpressed look as if telling me to use my word with only his eyes

I looked down blushing lighting

"Takeshi?"

"Come, we must depart now, the jewelry-"

I shook my head

"Its too much"

"What do you suggest then?"

"Flowers"

He looked at me for a minute before smirking

"Well let's go then" he helped me off the stool and led me to a large garden

My eyes widened

Flowers of all types spread around the garden leaving  a pleasant  fragrance 

I turned  and looked at Takeshi in awe

"Did you do all this?"

"Yes indeed I did, I do gardening to calm my inner rage" he joked 

Knowing he had a calmer side to him sort of helped my anxiety

I smiled warmly and sat on the grass

He looked at me then sat down

"What do you like?" He asked while carefully watching me

I looked around when my eyes caught sight of creamy white petals  that folded outwards, it was gorgeous

I pointed at them and looked up at him

"What are those?"

"Rose's, beautiful aren't they?"

I nodded

"Would that be all?"

I nodded once again. We sat there in silence for who knows how long, it wasn't awkward at all though 

"Why?" I asked

"What do you mean?" 

"Your a great emperor at such an age, you have beautiful men and women basically falling off you. So why would his highness choose  such a lowly peasant as his Empress"

I whispered staring ahead

He was frowning deeply when I looked at him again

I smiled and used my fingers and trance his frown lines until they were no longer there

"You will get wrinkles  if you frown like that"

He grabbed my hand and kissed it 

"I'll remember that'll, I like you, i had to have you, out of every concubines or queens you are the most beautiful, it feels as though fate had brought us together and I will not squander the opportunity to make you mine"

He said while staring into the depths of my soul with his red orbs

He placed his finger under my chin and smiled so pure that the words clogged  my throat

"Has your thirst for knowledge been quenched my love?"

I nodded

"Then let us depart, we have to let the world know that you are mine"

He really wasn't joking when he said let the world know. I'm sure people from far and wide just came to hear him speak. I guess that's respect

Hundreds if not thousands gathered to hear the news 

My face darkened, how could I go out there to face such people, what would the say about me?

"My loyal subjects!" His voice boomed over the crowd, ushering in complete and utter silence  

'Oh dear God' I whispered still hiding behind the large doors of the balcony

"You have asked for so long and I have decided to give you all the answer you deserve"

Quiet murmurs and questions were thrown into the air

Takeshi turned to look at me and I retreated even more behind the door

"Don't be afraid,  I'm right beside you"

I slowly slid from behind the door and into the open where all eyes stared up at me in utter shock 

The uproar of questions began again

I swallowed harshly and grabbed Takeshi's hand tightly 

"This is Satomi, he is now your soon to be Empress"

The place went silent before bursting into land happy cheers. Happy? They were happy to have me? 

My face became red as tears threatened to fall

"Oh no no, this won't do, we can't have you crying my love, especially on such a festive day" he said stroking my cheek 

I sniffled before I smiled at him 

"The wedding will be in one month from now, treat him as you'd treat me, we'll be having a welcome party  in the ballroom tonight,  noblemen from different countries will come by, I expect only the best behavior from my people"
