The guy who couldn't see her cry

The king whom everyone feared was struggling to talk to her. It was a rare moment to watch king trying to do something he was not used to, and that was friendly communication.

He was good at killing and giving orders but not at consoling. The name of the girl was quite an irony in Kai's life. The only thing that Kai didn't feel his entire life was joy.

He was cold, ruthless and dangerous which made him feel like there is no place for joy now.

He kept his distance from her, knowing that she might misunderstand if he came closer.

"How old are you? and what are you doing in a place like this?", he asked and held her gaze like he wants to see what lies behind this beautiful innocent face.

"I...I am 21...I was looking for money and someone suggested me to work here. I didn't know that this would turn out like hell for me.....i needed money.", she said and started sobbing which made his heart clench in pain. He couldn't see her cry like that.

Kai thought why would such a young girl need money so desperately that it made her come to a place like this.

He raised his hand lifted her chin to look in her eyes and said, "How much money do you want?"

She looked at him with utter shock and wiped her tears with the blanket.

"You didn't even ask why i need money....and why would you help me?... nobody helped me when that guy was forcing me to sleep with him", she said and went silent for a second. The moment she recalled of that guy made her feel disgusted and her hands started trembling again.

"Where are your parents?", he asked again but this time she couldn't control her emotions and she let it out all at once.

"My parents are dead....leaving me with a huge debt and my uncle threw me out of the house and i am running away from the debtors and that's why i wanted money....And now i am stuck here....with people who seem cruel to me because no one helped me except you and now you are giving me money....so you must want something in return too.... I won't sleep with anyone.... it's better if you kill me...got that?"

Someone was yelling at king and it was a fun sight to see. Usually king kills people who dare to even point a finger at him, but she....she was different. Instead of saying anything, King smiled at her and said, "Your debt will be clear by today and you are free to go. Let's just say you have earned with your work here and all the debtors of this city are familiar to me so consider it done and leave."

He stood up and moved towards the door but before he could leave, a pair of hands came from behind, hugging him gently. Her hands were resting on his torso and her face was sticked to his back. He didn't understand how to comprehend this situation so he turned around to look at her face which again made him feel something he had never felt before, Something that was new to him.

"Thank you Mr... whatever your name is, i am always indebted to you....if you ever want me to work for you....i can be your secretary or something", she said showing her full teeth smile like a kid.

"I didn't know you were that bold", he said and continued, "I have helped you because you were harassed by one of my people and it's my responsibility to take care of that. Now leave before i change my mind."

Her face turned pale because of his cold attitude but she didn't let it affect her. Without saying anything further, she opened the door and decided to leave the place but fate had some other plans for her.

"You look more beautiful than i expected", a voice came from behind and then there was Ethan with a glass of wine in his hand and evil smirk on his face.
