People were greeting the king and praising him of the work that he has done all these years. Most of the underworld was happy to thrive under his kingdom but still there were few who didn't like his presence.
ETHAN...The son of the top businessman of the underworld. Kai's dad and Ethan's dad were close friends in the past but it didn't last long because of the competition that rose with the coming retirement of the Kai's dad.
Ethan was crazy for the throne and he did everything in his power to snatch the reign from him but the biggest form of power was people's trust and people trusted Kai more than him.
That's what made Ethan bow down to Kai but that doesn't mean he was going to stop fighting for what he thinks he deserve.
Ethan approached towards Kai's throne and sat beside him behaving like a wannabe f**king prince.
He crossed his legs, pointed his fingers towards the room where Joy was resting and said, "She looks like a beauty.... where did you find her?"
Kai pretended to not care about the question and said, "None of your business Ethan...she came with me and she's gonna leave with me too...so keep your hands to yourself."
"I know you don't sleep twice with the same girl...and the way you were hiding her...i presume she is not from the underworld....so be a good friend and introduce her to me....you know i am a romantic type guy", he said and raised his eyebrows. He was trying to find any kind of emotion on Kai's face but didn't find any so he continued pestering him with his questions.
This went on for some time and Kai was nearly on the edge of punching him on the face. Every time Ethan mentioned the girl, Kai balled his hand into a fist. Although he had no relation with the girl but the mere mention of hers from that bas**rd's mouth was enough to make him boil from anger.
After no response from Kai's side, Ethan greeted him again went on to talk with other party members.
Suddenly Marco came running and whispered to the king, "King...she is awake and horribly scared...she is not even letting the maids come near her.... she has asked for you countless times."
Without wasting any time, Kai went upstairs to the room and saw maids standing outside the room with tired look on their faces. They must have tried their best to convince her but according to Marco , she is not trusting anyone except the king.
Before going in, Kai warned everyone to not tell her about his real identity, maybe because he didn't want to scare her more.
He entered the room alone and saw her bundled at the corner of the couch. She still had her same clothes on and through those layers, he could see the bruises on her thighs and waist. He knew where she got those bruises from and now he wanted to kill that man but he couldn't just kill a person because of a stranger girl.
She looked up and saw him coming towards her with those little steps. He wasn't sure how to approach so he sat beside her, giving her some space and said coldly, "You were asking for me?"
She didn't say anything so he tried again.
"What's your name girl?"
She looked at him again and this time she spoke.
"My name is Joy."
