Mysterious cave

The winner of the previous match was Elijah, and soon the next match began.

The opponents this time were Elijah and Lucas, Elijah had been waiting for a day like this one ever since he got beat up by Lucas when they were five, and now it was finally here.

Even though he wore a serious look on his face, he was filled with joy in his heart. knowing that Lucas possessed a grade eight Mana spirit, he didn't believe that Lucas would be able to reach second order within four months and his plan was not just to stab Lucas legs and arms like what he did to Peter but completely destroy his Mana core ,there by turning him into a waste.

With Elijah's dad being the strongest person in their village and him being the only disciple to the principal, he could get away with almost anything, including completely destroying someone's Mana core.

A Mana core can be destroyed by stabbing someone in their abdomen, this was where the Mana core was located, destroying someone's Mana core means completely stopping that person's cultivation, they wouldn't be able to use Mana neither will they be able to call out their Mana spirits.

The fight between Lucas and Elijah soon began and Elijah was the first to attack.

With his Mana spirit already summoned, he quickly activated his battle skill, ' demon spikes'.

For a grade eight Mana spirit, reaching second order within four months time was also enough to draw suspicious eyes , but he could always say he got lucky and found a spirit pellet.

Elijah successfully leaped up before the slash could come in contact with him and while in the air, he sent out more spikes which rained down towards Lucas's direction.

Lucas swiftly dodged and countered all the black spikes with his death slash, although Elijah was just an early second order , with his current reaction speed and strength he could defeat most people at late second order but he couldn't figure out the reason why he still wasn't able to defeat Lucas.

Although Lucas wasn't using his real strength, he had to admit that Elijah was a tricky opponent to deal with, especially because of the fact that Elijah was using his Mana spirit ability ' flight ' , Lucas was currently at a disadvantage, while he was on the ground trying to dodge and counter all the black spikes that rained down on him, Elijah was floating in the sky , sending his spikes down at a speed that seemed to increase as the fight dragged on.

The rest of class two students watched this fight with a look of envy in their eyes, they all wished they were the ones with talent, even Rick also held a look of shock in his face, he could clearly remember not having this much strength or speed when he was still a second order.

The fight dragged on for some more minutes, Elijah did the attacking from a safe distance, while Lucas dodged and countered, Lucas did try attacking, but his attacks had no way of penetrating Elijah's defense of dozens of demon spikes.

few minutes passed and the Lucas currently had one thing in his mind, which was, when would Elijah's Mana completely deplete, Elijah had been currently attacking and at the rate he was going, his Mana in his Mana core was supposed to reach a state of depletion soon.

On the other hand, Lucas had no problem of such, although his Mana in his Mana core does depletes, he could always use his Mana spirit ability ' instant recovery' to recover all of the depleted Mana.

The fight continued for some more minutes and Lucas could finally notice it, the amount of spikes Elijah sent began to reduce and the speed at which they came also reduce, this was his chance , the opportunity he was waiting for to strike was finally here.

In the blink of an eye, Lucas leaped up and sent a slash at Elijah's face, but Elijah was quick to react , he quickly countered the slash with one of his spikes there by blocking his front vision, when the two attacks meet each other, after they collided, they completely depleted, leaving specks of black Mana floating in the air.

Elijah could finally see what was in front of him and what he saw was a fist ,coated with black Mana aiming at his face.

In less than a second, the fist made contact with Elijah's face and he was sent down due to the impact of the fist hitting his face.

Elijah got up and he could feel a warm liquid on his face, he touched it and found out it was blood. Seeing the blood that possibly came from his broken nose, he fainted, but before he completely gave in to the darkness that was enveloping him, he saw a figure hovering above him, the figure of the person he hated to the extent that he wished this person could just suffer, suffer to the extent that he would wish he was dead, this person was non other than Lucas.

Lucas knew that Elijah would be able to block his slash, so his plan was to send it directly at his face, so that when he tried to counter it with his spike his vision would be completely blocked, and that would be the perfect opportunity to send a strike at him, but not with his battle skill instead with his fist.

If Elijah had choose to dodge instead of counter then his plan would have completely failed.

After some moment of silence, Rick finally announced "the winner of this round is Lucas!" And in the next moment the once quite hall became filled with loud gasps of shock.

After Lucas and Elijah's fight no one dared fight with Lucas, even if they got paired with him they would just surrender before the match even began.

Elijah was taken away by the school healers and before the principal left, he gave Lucas a weird look that Lucas couldn't figure the meaning behind it.

The remaining day went by smoothly, no one fought with Lucas because they were scared to, and just like that, school ended.

Lucas went back home and instead of cultivating in his room like he usually did, he went to the hill which he normally meditated on. Behind this hill was a forest, Lucas didn't know what was in this forest but he had always wanted to know, now he was in third order he felt he was strong enough to go in, and if he found something he couldn't handle his , he could always summon Nick who was in tenth order of the white core.

He went into the forest and after thirty minutes, he found nothing but trees, he went further into the forest but still found nothing but trees, at this moment he began contemplating if he should keep on going or if he should turn back but later decided on his first option and kept on going.

He had been walking for about an hour now and he still couldn't find anything but trees and just when he was about to turn back, something caught his eyes.

He went closer to it and found out it was a cave, this cave was well hidden behind leaves and Vines and it was very hard to spot, but in his former life, caves which held important things in it were usually hidden like this one and in his former life he had come across many bandit caves which held stolen goods.

He went into the cave, it was dark and he could hear the sound of dripping water, he followed the sound, hoping he would find something wherever the sound was coming from.

An hour passed and he still hadn't gotten to the source of the sound, he continued walking, hoping to find the source soon.

After another hour of walking, the sound of dripping water finally became louder, he walked towards the direction of the sound and he saw a light at the end of the cave.

He rushed towards the direction of the light and when he finally arrived at his destination, he was met with another cave.

But this time, the cave was bigger and brighter than the one he just left.

Gems illuminated this cave, these gems were bright and they all had different colours, that was the reason for the cave's brightness.

At the center of this cave, a puddle of water was made due to the drops of Water that fell down from the small crack at the top of the cave.

Lucas went closer to the puddle of water at the center of the cave, what actually drew his attention wasn't the puddle of water, but the object in the puddle of water.

After making his way to the puddle, he bent down in order to observe the object that was in the puddle of water.

At first sight, he could already figure out what the object was, it was a spatial ring.
