Episode 8

"Congratulations!"

That's all what Kendrah recieved after Mrs. Bato announced that she is not a salesclerk any longer because starting for today she is now the Sales Department Manager.

The title makes her stomach became acidic. She is excited every day and thankful but never expect that this job is not that simple.

"So, originally it's you who got promoted but that woman...."

"Yeah, she stole it just like that."

"Do you want me to help you? I'll talk to Mrs. Bato."

"No, no. We are not the favorites."

The both guy laugh. It was their team leader Aries and the supervisor Matinni.

She clearly heard everything from the stockroom where she is. The moment the two came in she pretended nothing happened.

"Ma'am Kendrah, what are you doing here?" The supervisor surprised.

"Oh, just checking." She keep on acting holding a clipboard and writing something on it.

"Sorry, Ma'am for being late. Let me do that," the team leader Aries insisted.

"It's already done. I'm coaching some of the newbie." She glanced at the supervisor. "They need a proper way to display the product. I think you can help me, guys." And her eyes back to their team leader Aries, "Can you fix the new schedule? We have a lot of working students and they are too demanding about time."

"Yeah, yeah..." the two agreed.

Coaching, teaching what to do, guiding every single employee and so on made her think that she can't do all of this in just one click. And the whole day process ends that the happy Kendrah is now have a serious face, every night when she got home.

"Welcome back."

Nodded at her husband who is busy preparing food. Just like that, she rushed herself to the bed and fall asleep. So tired!

"Hey, Ken... wake up!"

"Mmmm..."

"Your mom called. She invited us on Saturday evening."

She open her eyes in dazed. Thinking what she heard.

"Is that really my mom?" She is happy.

"Yeah... and also get up now, we are going to eat." And Paulo carry her to the dinning table.

"This is... this is! Do you really have to spoil me?"

"Oh, Kendrah! If can do it every night then why not?"

"Y-you..."

He put her down slowly. And she wish that Paulo is always like this.

The Saturday night came...

Wearing their comfortable outfit shirts and pants, holding hands, the couple Paulo and Kendrah enter to the Ramirez Residence.

"We're here!" Kendrah said when they reached the dining table.

No one greeted back. The family there is busy eating. They are wearing formal attire and a color red. So, she is thinking what is really the occasions?

"You didn't bring anything for mom... it's her birthday," Karlito, the elder brother next to his ten year old daughter. The wife is also there.

"And what's the attire, Kendrah? Where's the respect?" Karina added after simple glance. The seven year old triplets boys is sitting there, chewing food slowly. Of course the husband of her sister is present too.

"Oh, I'm sorry... I forgot. I thought you guys want to see me after so many years. You know, no one accepted my wedding invitations so I was surprise that mom asking me here." She try to explain in a happy way but no one care. They are busy eating.

"Wife, I think we can eat something out," in a low voice, Paulo squeezed Kendrah's hands.

"Yeah, sounds nice!"

"Just leaving without saying hi to your mom... Is that what you learned outside?" That's her father Karlo.

"No need hon, let her be. It will be the bad luck if she stay her for long."

"Right! I am not welcome here so, yeah, we have to go. Happy birthday, Mrs. Daniella Ramirez and next time don't bother to invite us." Then, she nodded to her husband and they left right away.

And when they got out she can't control her anger and speak it out.

"See that? We're here for nothing. I thought they will miss me but no. They don't care."

"Come here."

Paulo gave her a hug and kiss her head. With that, she feels alright.
