Episode 2

IT'S already 3 o' clock in the afternoon and yet Kendrah's here at the counter. Punched items here. Put in the plastic bag there. No lunch break. Just biscuits and water. Her fingers are getting numb for the non-stop working hours. It's okay. It's okay. Her shift is about to end. She just need to wait for the go signal of their team leader. Then she can finally get home.

"Kendrah, Aimee is here you can check out now." The tall guy announced. It's their team leader, Aries.

"After this, Sir." She rush to display the 'next counter please' sign. With that, the other shoppers choose to step backward. She secretly happy about it. And after a minute or two she's done. "I'm okay here, Sir." Kendrah called their leader's attention.

"Yeah, I will check that later. You can go."

Five minutes passed. Here she is. Walking on her way home. Thinking about what to cook for tonight. Ah! She wants something new. She decided to went to the nearest roast chicken house. And when she came out she have the box of chicken in her hand.

Maybe I'll try to add a little spice.

In that thought she chuckled while pushing in the main door of the house. Her husband come home three hours late and that time she can do what she wants. She cook rice then take a shower. After ten minutes, she blow her hair. She decided to change from pajama and shirts to a sexy lingerie.

I wanna know how would you react.

In her mind while carefully checking herself in front of the human size mirror. And there, that makes her satisfied. At the same time the rice cooker is now on warm so it means Paulo is the only one missing. And she wish her husband will hurry up. She want him so bad.

She sat down while waiting until the 6 o' clock came. Checking her phone so many times and counting. And here it comes, the most awaiting time. She lie on the sofa and let expose her legs. Paulo has his own key so she can feel at ease to pretend to sleep.

But no Paulo. Her forehead is started to wrinkled. How many minutes? Five? Ten? Thirty? Yeah. Let him be. Until her phone vibrates.

Ken, you can eat dinner first.

After reading that, her tears fall down on her cheeks.

"Hey Kendrah! Are you happy?" She smiled bitterly. Her sweet Paulo is not the same as before.

Seven years ago...

It was the enrollment day for the senior high. Kendrah's big sister Karina decision to transfer her to another school. And now she's here in front of the principal's office and waiting for her sister.

"Hey! Need help?" a man voice asked that's why she turned her head and to see who's talking. And there it goes. A young man with a charming face staring at her. Grinning. A friendly one, she guess.

"If you do, you can go to the Student Council and find me there. Oh, my name is Paulo... Paulo with the u."

"Widayu?" she repeated. That word starting to spin in her head. And when she suddenly realize what is he talking about she burst to laugh.

"I'm sorry. I can't help it." She really can't stop laughing and hoping the guy not get offended.She knew that it's getting weird right here, right know but she can't deny the fact that this is the very first time for her. In her family, it's forbidden to be like this. The action she make is limited. Growing up with the strict environment is very hard.

"You're gorgeous..."

That words calm her down. No. Her heart is pounding right now. She want to scream with happiness when Paulo came closer. She can't tell how charming he is.

No, you're the one who is gorgeous here!

She don't want to close her eyes. If this is the excitement the others say they feel then it is. She gasped when he touched the back of her ear.

"For you!" Paulo smiled beautifully. He's now holding the red rose came out from nowhere.

"How did you do that?" She can't hide the amazed tone.

Paulo chuckled. "Magic. Do you like it?"

"Kendrah!"

That's her sister voice. She never get a chance to answer Paulo when Karina grabbed her hand. Before she knew it the distance between him and her is too far. But she wants to see him once more. Just once. And here, she look back but no one's there. He is not there anymore.

That was a little bit sad.

"Not bad. I might say, he is nice. His mother working abroad as a factory worker and the father is a soldier," Karina commented when they stop at the front of the pink motorbike. "But the problem is... his parents separated a year ago so he is not the best choice for you."

Her eyes widened knowing those kind of personal information. "How did you know any of this?" Her sadness quickly change into shocked.

"It's easy for my husband to do a background check." Karina's husband was a private investigator. How could she forget that?

"Listen, Kendrah. You have to study hard. Find your future guy."

"Oh, Karina, are you abandoning me too?" Kendrah's voice cracked. She is the youngest in the family but she only get the least favor. Her parents stop supporting them financially when the eldest child in the family graduated college. That's her big brother Karlito---who takes all the responsibility in the whole six years but then decided to build his own family. And now, next is Karina's turn but instead of finding a job, she choose to marry a rich guy.

"Oh, little sis, please understand. I have three babies. I can't give you the attention you need. You're seventeen years old already. I think you can be an independent one as well." Karina say that reality to her face. "I'll rent a dorm for you. It's for the whole semester. Okay, hop in and we're going to check the place."

It's just ten minutes ride to be able to reach that dormitory. The place is neat and new. She can see a picture of herself living there and hoping that she can cope with the surroundings.

"I'll go ahead. Wait for me at noon. I'll get your belongings at home. Behave and stay put. Make sure you're not roaming around." Her sister nagged here and there but she's didn't mind. She just cherish this moment and loving the way her sister care.

She sighed the moment her sister shut the door. She feels bored. No, she's lonely. Maybe a little walk can help.

"Hey, you are the transferee, right?"

And there she go. Her heart is starting beating fast hearing that voice from the guy she just met.

She turned around and said while smiling."Oh, hi! Paulo with the u?"
