Chapter 2: Chase

As Orinsky continues her trek, small whispers were heard. Some felt close, like they were whispered in her ear. These disembodied whispers started to dishearten Orinsky, but she continues. Then, out of nowhere, a scream echoes from within. Orinsky jumps at the very sound and cover her ears. The scream sounds like a cross between a man and an animal. As soon as it was being sound, the scream died down. Orinsky stood on the very position, and shook her head, shaken by the scream. Then, after regaining her composure, she decides to continue her way to find an exit. After a while, she sees a reddish glow coming from a nearby room. A sudden urge to investigate take hold of Orinsky, and makes her way toward the room. As she slowly poke her head out, her eyes widen. The sight was horrendous. In the middle of the room, is a surgical table. Lying on the table, is a figure of a man. His arms are spread out. Needles, filled with a glowing green liquid, prodded throughout its arms. Its eyes are wide opened, blood red and in shock. Its mouth was gaping wide open. The corpse look fresh, as if it was just been experimented on recently. Terror stricken by the sight, Orinsky fell back, away from the doorway. Not wanting to think or look at the corpse any more than she has to, she continued her way. After a couple of yards from the room, she hears a slow paced shuffle and slow hoarse breathing behind her. But wanting to look behind, Orinsky picks up her pace, but the shuffle picks up and becomes more frantic. When she finally look back, the corpse that she saw back at the room, was chasing her, his arms hanging swaying about, and his eyes stuck on to her. Struck with fear at the sight of the creature, Orinsky ran in full speed, trying to get away from the animated corpse. Coming to a dead end, Orinsky looks for a way out, and comes across an entrance to another room. When she got in, she found herself stuck, another dead end. Not knowing what to do, she began to panic. Just as she was about to give up and accept her fate, she comes across a large surgical blade. With a weapon now in hand, she hides in plain sight, waiting for the corpse. When the horrid being comes inside the room, searching for her, Orinsky jumps out of her hiding spot, and plunges her blade on the back of its head. The figure started to howl in pain, and started to flail its arms around. The creature then slumps over, and fall face first, giving one last twitch of life, and dies. Orinsky stands over the creature's body, checking to see if it's dead. Confident, she retrieves her weapon and decides to keep it for further emergencies, so she puts the blade in her jean pocket. She then retrace her steps and comes across an entrance to a staircase. On the left side of the entrance, is a map of the entire complex. Orinsky takes the map down and start examining. Now with an escape route planned out, she fold the map and puts it away. Then, Orinsky starts to make her way down the crumbling staircase.
