Sometimes its better to leave the thing unknown

*****   Few days later   *****

She calls Mr. Martin who was mentioned in the letter as she didn’t want to tell her other or Bryce about it because she didn’t want to make them worry.

“Hello Mr. Jeremy Martin.” Says when her call was connected

“Oh! hello Selene, how are you?”

“I am fine Mr. Martin I just wanted to ask you something.”  She said to Mr. Martin on the other side of the phone. And she told him about the letter she received a few days ago.

“You know Selene sometimes there are things that better left unknown. I don't think you need to know anything more than you know.” He says.

“But it's my life. I should at least know something about what happened to me in the past. And who wrote this letter, please Mr. Martin.”

He sighed.

“Trust me you don't, because I saw Selene one year ago and believe me, I don't want to see that Selene again. She was nothing more than a broken piece of glass, taking risks and she killed herself to leave her past behind. It was you who chose this life and trust me you didn't get it easily. So, don't think about what was in your past.”

She sat that in shock unable to utter a single word.

“I will tell you this much that in the past, you wore having mental breakdowns and were getting treatment for it. You even moved to a new city but despite of changing your place, your condition didn’t get better and in the results of your treatment, you lost your memories.”

“You choose that yourself and now you have what you wished for, I hope you well, bye dear.”

He ends the call after wishing her well.

After hearing Mr. Martin, she left speechless. There were were the exact same words in that latter as well. For some reasons, she trusted the one who wrote the letter. Taking a deep breath, she shook off the curiosity she was heaving thinking maybe it's good if she didn't know her past.

She was sitting at the writing table scribbling some lines on a page making so much effort not to let it get wet with the tears falling from her eyes.

“So, this is your final decision?”

“Yes.” Came firm reply in trembling voice.

“Thank you, Mr. Martin for your help.” Saying that she hands him an envelope.

“Selene maybe if you give a little time to this situation, you don't have to go that far.” Mr. Martin said concerned.

“No Mr. Martin, there is nothing that can make this situation right, I am not rushing. I tried so hard. I did everything I could but I can't make myself to hate him even a little bit.” Says in complete helplessness.

“Alright, if that’s what you wish.” He says sighing in

defeat.

How could I forget, his love runs inside my veins like blood, his touch, his memory is like oxygen for me, not able to see him, touch him or hear his voice, it's killing me. Meeting him, knowing him has become a curse, I can’t go on like this.

She recalls why she comes to this. what happened that makes

her lose half of her life.
