Chapter 5 (Who is he?)

And so Mr. Yomo continued to tell the truth about him.

It was the time for Kashiwagi to know what happened. What was the thing that

attacked him and why he is being attacked.

-“ One day, while we were at the academy a very

strange man came to meet him.”

-“Ah, Mr. Yomo. You haven’t told me his name yet.”

-“Shut up. Just listen to me what I am saying. Don’t

just talk in the middle of the conversation.”

Hearing this, Kashiwagi stopped again.

-“His talent made him exceptional than the other

students in the academy and so the king himself decided that he should get

graduation at the age of 16 from the academy and start working on different

missions. As, your mom and dad were his homeroom teacher and his mentor too so

the king ordered them to be with him 24/7. And thus the journey of that boy

started where your parents were his mentor as well as his guardian.

He was the first youngest graduate from our Magic

Knight Academy. No one was so young ever graduating at this age. He had some

talents but above all he is so focused on learning new things and new new

magics and also practices them regularly with heart and soul so that he can

surpass your parents. I wasn’t nearly stronger like them but when your father

was in some kind of trouble he rushed to me for advices when he thinks our

thinking actually agrees then he goes to do the work. But in this case he acted

on his own.

Several days passed all I can remember it was

approximately 4/5 months. Around 1/3 of the whole year passed and I didn’t even

see those three around for that long. All I knew that they were going harsh

with that boy on his training and on the other hand the boy was enjoying a lot.

One day, Haru came to the academy and was searching

for me. One of the staffs came to my class to inform me that. I just rushed to

him.

-“Hey, buddy. How’s it going?”

-“What happened? You’re looking so tired.”

-“We were on a tough mission. The mission was to find

some magical orbs which were pretty rare. This mission was handed to us by the

king himself. Though it was a mission of the higher ups like us but he

personally asked me to take the boy with me. So, I took him with me and Sara.

The place was 35 miles north west of Tokyo. The king

ordered them to get there as fast as they can cause they were pretty rare orbs

and if the enemy gets them it would create a disaster to the whole world.

Actually, what the king tried to say was If the demons get the orbs first then

it would become a disaster as they always wanted to destroy the peace of the

world. On the other hand, his motive was to show that boy how higher class

demons can be. So, he told your dad to take him with them. On those days the

place were pretty rural area so the only way to go there was by using

teleportation magic or by foot. You father was genius but he couldn’t use

teleportation magic as it actually requires a huge amount of Mana. So, Sara

lend him some of his mana and that boy gave some of his, fusing all of them he

could create a portal which could lead them to their desired location in one

time but there was one problem. Fusing mana is not that easy so he told Sara

and the boy that he’s going there first and both of them to come as fast as

they can. So, using the portal Haru went to that place and Sara and the boy

were coming there by foot.

When Haru reached his destination it took him just 1

sec but the scenery of that place made Haru totally shocked. That place was

totally deserted leaving no trace of life. The scenery was like a graveyard. Up

in the sky crows are flying, body’s everywhere blood shed it felt like someone

came here just to massacre. But he saw that a old man was lying down who was

counting his last breath. He rushed to that guy and picked up on his lap. That

old man was rumbling, “ Water, water. Give me some water.” Haru had a bottle of

water with him so he gave that guy to drink it. After drinking the water Haru

asked that man what actually happened to this village? Why is dead body

everywhere and who did this? The old man was so near to death that he could

only say three words, “Earth Will Die.” Saying this the old man died. So, Haru

started searching for the clues who did this and also started for looking the

magical orbs. It was a very small village at a corner of Japan. So, Haru

thought that he could easily find the orbs as he had experience in finding

these things. But he couldn’t imagine that after searching for several hours

what he could find was “Nothing.” It made him stressed too. Meanwhile Sara and

the boy just only reached the village. Seeing the scenario Sara was shocked but

the boy was cold. He was neither scared nor he was saying anything. But still

Sara thought that it won’t be good for his mental state as he’s only a boy

seeing such a harsh thing. So, she grabbed his hand and pulled him towards her

and hugged in way so that he couldn’t see the massacre. And said,”It’s okay. I

know you’re a tough boy but sometimes you need to be scared.” Hearing those

words the boy didn’t reply a single thing but his eyes started glowing as like

he’ll burst out. While they were talking Haru rushed to Sara by sensing their

Mana. “Is he okay? I know he’s a tough one but seeing this type of scenario

when I arrived made me cry too.” “He’s okay. Just trying to make him realize

the cruelty of a world. We live in a kingdom where Tokyo is stated as the

capital. There are many other kingdoms too and the demons will inherit each one

of them so that they can make the Earth their own playground. Above all, you

came far more early than us. What actually happened?” “I don’t know either.

When I came here everything was already in a bad shape. Just found an old man

who was counting his last breath.” “Did he say something?” “Not very much, but

his last words were ,

-“ Earth Will Die.”

-“The earth will die? Did he mean that the demon will or

someone from us will?”

-“I don’t know anything. He told me these three words

and then passed out.”

-“Then lets start searching for the orbs. We don’t have much time left, I

guess.”

After that the three of them started searching for the

orbs again. But there was no luck either. So, they decided that they should

split up and search inch by inch in order to get them fast before anyone else

get them. While searching the boy got up with something after a few minutes

later. He saw something written on a wall of a building still standing.

-“You will fear. Fear will devour you. You can not

live neither can die you will suffer. In the end, you’ll be the most sufferer.”

He was never scared of anything. But those words made him tremble. Sensing his

trembling Sara rushed to him in order to stop the situation that occurred. But Haru

was still searching and he found something in a place where hadn’t gone when he

was searching the first time. It was a white orb, round shaped. It was

transmitting some kind of energy that he also didn’t sensed. So, he decided

that he should wrap it up in some kind of anti-magic scarf. He realized that he

had brought one with him while leaving the kingdom. The king directed him that

he should bring the orb with great care as the orbs transmit a higher level

mana.

After wrapping up the white orb he found he instantly

rushed to the place where Sara and the boy was. After getting there he asked

Sara,

-“Is he okay?”

-“Till now, yes. But we need to go to the kingdom as

fast as we can. It’s not safe here now. By the way, did you find the orb?”

-“Yes, it’s with me. But…”

Before Haru could finish his words a person suddenly

appeared in front of them.

-“Oh my, my. You guys have done such a splendid job for

me. Now give me what you’ve got.”

-“ Who are you? What business do you have here?”

-“Oh my. You don’t know me? I guess my appearance has deceived

you guys too. Let me bring out my real face now then.”

After the woman used the word “ 変換” ( Henkan is a Japanese word which is meant

transform ) her appearance just changed suddenly. She was a blonde short hair

girl and now she suddenly changed into a demon. She was a high class demon who’s

eyes were three. From each eye she can use three types of magic such as fire,

water and air. And her mana was pretty high. But your parents can not actually

hand over the orbs. So, Haru instantly said,

-“If you’re

after the orb then let me clarify one thing. You will not ever get it until I

am alive.”

Hearing this the

demon laughed as like Haru said a joke or something.

-“Oh My, my. You

think that I came to get this nothing but useless thing?”

-“You think this

is useless? A whole village was massacred and you say it’s for nothing?”

-“Oh my, my. I

guess I have pissed you off. I actually came for that boy you’re hiding with

your wife.”

-“He has nothing

to do with it. Get out of my sight or else I am ready to fight. As you’re

standing in front of the greatest magician of Japan here.”

-“ You think you

can win against me? My My, you’re so innocent Haru Musuko. Just leave it r be

ready for the consequences.”

-“Let me clarify

this again. He’s my son and I will never ever leave him alone.””

Hearing this from

Mr. Yomo Kashiwagi was totally shoked.

-“Mr. Yomo, did

you just say that father mentioned that boy as his son in front of that demon?

Or it was just my misunderstanding.”

-“No, that is

actually Haru and Sara’s first son and your elder brother.”

Hearing the

words from Mr. Yomo Kashiwagi was shocked. His eyes were lost in thought as if

everything was going dark. He couldn’t think anything.

Judging the situation

Mr. Yomo asked him,

-“I guess no one

ever mentioned anything about it to you. Fair enough otherwise you would come

to a dreadful ending before you could enjoy your life.

Always remember

Kashiwagi. God gave us one chance. In this one chance either you become a demon

or you wish to die by sacrificing yourself towards humanity. If you choose humanity

over devil then even after your death people will remember like Haru and Sara.

Now the choice is yours. I know your age is just 14 in this age it’s not eligible

to say something like that but as your life is now at stake it’s your duty to

choose.”

-“Umm, Mr. Yomo.

I guess it’s pretty late. You should go home. Tomorrow I also have a test. And

if I fail I guess you’ll scold me again. So, can you just leave I have to study

and also sleep to get up early.”

After that Mr.

Yomo put a sacred barrier around Kashiwagi so that no demon could sense his

presence.

-“Kashiwagi, no

need to overthink. Just focus on tomorrow’s test.”

-“I will.”

After that Mr.

Yomo left the house.

Kashiwagi went

to his table to study. But he couldn’t concentrate on his studies. The one

thing that was coming to his mind was,” I actually have a brother? What is his

name? And how did actually my parents die? Was it actually a rouge magician or

some demon?”

A lot of thoughts were coming to his head so he couldn’t concentrate on his studies.
