Episode five: Recruits II

Now currently facing the first threat in the dungeon, Sebastian is fired up and ready to go!

"It's a guardian, second only to the dungeon boss! at your utack! This will be a tough one!"

But then Damian charged at it, faster than their eyes could keep up with.

*BOOM!*

He sent it flying with a single heavy hit. It wasn't dead yet, but it sure was close, as the previous 7 foot tall beast that stood on all fours and had a rhino-like appearance was now looking like a beat up stray dog.

Jaws fell to the ground as the rest of the team witnessed what just happened!

"I-I-I'm sorry sir! Please have mercy!" pleaded Aria, shaking tremendously as she was obviously scared of loosing her life for previously insulting her extremely over powered superior.

"Ah... take it easy miss...errr.....ummmm.... don't tell me, don't tell me..." replied Ray trying to remember her name

"Aria!" interrupted Sebastian.

"ARRGGHHH!!!" Complained Damian

"This is what you would have faced should you have pushed the high captain Damian's buttons any further, you're lucky he is nicer than me." completed Sebastian.

"I would never repeat this mistake" Aria responded to Sebastian's words

"Very well then" said Sebastian as he moved further into the dungeon, "let us proceed with the dungeon."

"Yes!"

A few meters in and they started seeing other strange monsters, Sebastian had come to understand why this dungeon had it's ratings as a 3.5. Every single beast that poured out of the dungeon had immense strength similar to that of a Commander, and they poured out, thousands at once! Hence the battle through it was tough. Normally the strength of the boss would be determined by that of it's minions, and if the minions gave them such a hard time......what will the boss be like? These were the thoughts going through everyone's head.

Damian on the other hand, although he actually looked like he was putting in effort for the first time, wasn't looking too worried as he was simply wearing a carefree poker face.

"Damian", Sebastian called out "are you not in the least bit worried about what the final boss will be like?'

"Hm? Why would I be?" replied Damian "There are twelve of us here, we should be able to take him on, plus it's not very good to leave the morale of the team so low by worrying. As the leader of this hunt if you look worried, every one here will be worried as well. Learn control apostle."

"Yes!" replied Sebastian

' wait ' he then thought to himself ' why did I just do that? For a second it felt like he was a more majestic being than even the high lord himself perhaps even the Dage......*Pauses for a moment*.....*Sigh*...what am I saying? Our Dage is a legendary figure. Only ever seen once and said to have the power to destroy the entire continent with a finger. I'm imagining things.' and then out loud he says "Everyone! Soon we will arrive at the eye of the dungeon! Let's all get ready to obliterate this boss!!"

"YEAAAHH!"

***RUMBLE RUMBLE!!!!

"Here it comes***!"

"Prepare for combat!"

*Grrrrrrooowl*

"It's a black panther! Man it's huge!!"

Standing in front of them all was a panther at least three times their height!

It had a dark purple glow in it's eyes and sure enough it was ready for an attack!

"Take it down!!" yelled Sebastian and they began the assault.

The fight took about 10 minutes before Damian realized something.

"Hey!" he yelled out "How long have we been here?"

"Exactly 27 minutes and 56 seconds, counting! Sir!" replied Aria.

"So we've got about 2 minutes to dispatch of this guy! So far we've barely made enough damage to say we're gonna make it in time!" replied Damian "I hope William's ready"

"Worry not Damian, William is quite the powerhouse" replied Sebastian "We won't have to worry too much."

"I hope so"......

After the 30 minutes had been elapsed, there was a quake within the dungeon and all the monsters rushed towards the entrance with unstoppable momentum! While Damian and crew were still battling the panther. Eventually Sebastian landed a solid hit to the head! Sebastian was awakened with the ability to control earth as though it were a part of his own body. As he landed his hit, The panther stumbled backwards and fell on its back.

"NOW!!" YELLED SEBASTIAN "STRIKE IT ON IT'S STOMACH!!!!"

They did as told and the panther received quite the number of blows. It began looking quite pathetic really. Just as Krill was about to land the final hit, the panther let out a purple light and seemingly began a transformation!

It was taking a humanoid figure! Having the head and body of an actual person except with a few tattoos!

"Damn it!" yelled Krill "It evolved! This might not be an ideal battle anymore, we have to end this now" he threw his spear forward as he was a spear wielding awakened. With his spear he could create super destructive energy. Although he could do this without the spear as well, it was at least 3 times more destructive with it.

But the panther was impervious to such attacks as the spear just fell off his body.

**Hehehehehe* laughed the panther

"Foolish and pathetic humans! Do you wish to defeat me like this?! With your pathetic abilities?! Hahahahahaha.....Die*!"

By merely uttering his words, the pressure felt was enough to bring most to their knees. Only the 3 high captains remain standing! They all charge at him but get blown back instantly!

"Give it up fools! Let me let you in on a secret. Master Draco gave all of us this power and we will use it to bring this world to it's knees!!!!"

"So" said Damian in a rather low but audible voice "intelligent ones such as yourself have information regarding Draco?"

"What's it to ya pretty boy?" replied the panther

"I will squeeze the information right out of you!!!!!" said Damian in a voice like thunder!

Once again his eyes glowed in a bright blue color and so did his hair and a mysterious rune on his forehead.

"All who worship Draco must die!!!" roared Damian!

A massive lightning field covered his surroundings as he levitated about 12 meters off the ground.

"Hahahaha you just look a tad shinier and you think you can take me on?! Think again moron!"

Meanwhile.....

Outside the dungeon.....

"There's someone under that massive rock over there!!".

"I found another one!"

"Assault team! How are you doing with the remaining beasts?!"

"We've got it under control high captain William, Sir!"

"Good! Keep it that way! I'll come over once I'm done with this big guy!"

*Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh*

"What was that?!" asked William "Sounded like it was coming from over there! Any free hands?!"

"That's a negative sir!"

"Damn it! *SOLAR FLARE!!!* "

Upon yelling those words it was as though William exuded a powerful explosion from his body.....as you should be able to tell already, he is a fire based awakened one. With the explosion he used, he got rid of the beast he was battling but was left a little bit drained on Mana.

He rushed over to where he heard the scream coming from and saw a little girl trapped under the claws of some greenish yellow beast with a body similar to a wolf but without a tail or a head. Try to imagine something that came out of "Ben10".

"Hey!" he yelled out "Let go of her!" and to himself he thought 'this is the first time this is happening. Aside from awakened no other people have ever had contact with these beasts. This could prove troublesome later on. I wonder how much longer we can hold on.'

Back at the dungeon.....

A fight is now going on between the vicious panther and the enraged battle frenzied Damian. They lash at each other with intense amounts of fire power while the others just stay afar and watch, completely helpless.

"You're pretty strong, I'll give you that! But you waste it with these humans. Join us and experience true power!!!!!!"

"Shut it" replied Damian to the panther that was getting on his nerves even more.

After about half an hour of fighting the panther started to show signs of tiring itself out.

' Damn it' it thought to itself ' how could I be loosing to this human! How did he get so strong and why do I feel he isn't even in the least bit exhaust, while I'm running on fumes?!' and out loud he exclaims "I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS!!!!!!"

In the middle of his speech, Damian threw a compressed lightning bolt into his wide open mouth and punched his mouth close! Forcing it to swallow the bolt which tormented him from the inside. But that wasn't all, after doing this Damian then proceeded to detonating the bolt of lightning whilst it was inside it, completely destroying the beast!

"You actually did it!" yelled Sebastian in amazement.

"Sir! Thank you!" expressed Aria, still with a scared look on her face.

Out of all the captains she was the only one still conscious.

"Nicely done mate" said Krill as they began to head for the exit of the dungeon. "Aria, carry the rest of your companions."

Now Aria is a wind based awakened so this was quite easy for her as she just helped them glide through the air.

They arrived outsiders to see it in a serious mess, with a few monsters past the barrier set to keep them away from the non-awakened citizens.

"This is bad" said the two high captains and Aria together.

Damian on the other hand could process the gravity of the situation but kept his comments to himself.

"Oy, where is William" asked Krill "Haven't seen him around these parts"

"Oh, he went off to aid someone attacked by a monster outside the barrier" replied one of the witnesses

Damian and crew dashed to the scene to see William severely injured, with a dead monster next to him, in his arms was a little girl unconscious.

"Don't worry about me I got everything under control here" muttered William "Go fend off the few left at the entrance" with that he passed out.

The dungeon "raid" is over now and Damian picked up a lot of talents along the way. The first was Aria and the second was the little girl saved by William. According to William's story, the monster did not beat him to that extent, it was infact the girl's awakened ability that went out of control and killed the monster before he even had a chance to strike. Damian spoke to William and the girl, promising to have a way to quickly stabilize her condition, on the condition that she works directly under him. William does not see a problem with this so he let's it be.

"Now I have two talents working for me. Things aren't turning out too bad. Now if only I could convince that Fernando kid. He is quite bothersome."

Damian set out to find Fernando. Since they shared the same surname, he went home first and asked about any distant or close cousin he had that went by the name "Fernando"

Jonathan: "Hohoho there are many of them boyo! Hahahahaha!!!!!"

Damian: *disappointed but not surprised*

Hannah: "But there is one hot headed one, he doesn't live to far from here" Hannah said gesturing west. "Hope you find him."

"Thanks Mom!" said Damian with a huge smile on his face.

"Aww would you look at that honey, our son cares so much about family now. Like me when I was still little." said Hannah as they watched his run off.

As Damian arrives he sees his target practicing with doll targets...

"Yo hot head!!" yells Damian "mind if I chat a little bit with you?"

"What do you want Damian?"

"To give you a job offer into the Apostles!" replied Damian trying it sway him to his side.

"And how will you do that?" replied Fernando.

"I have been made the high captain of the apostles. I'll take you directly to the seat of a Captain on one condition" replied Damian, and then with a smile creeping in on his face he says..."work directly under me.'
