Meanwhile, in another side story, Kevin, who had just arrived in Phils City, lost his way to his father's house. Before that happened, his stepmother called him upon his arrival to escort him home, but he insisted on finding his way himself as he didn't like to engage with his step family. His attitude led to a great disaster when his phone was stolen. "AHHHH!" he shouted out loud with anger. Everyone was looking at him, but he didn't care at all, nor did he bother to look around or call for anyone to help. He walked his way to the taxi station, carrying his baggage. "I guess these things are useless," he said to himself. "After all, I'll be staying for just three days, and then I'll leave this damn place." When he got a taxi to take him, he felt a bit of chills as he had no idea where to go or stay. "Wer ar u going into sir?" the driver ask, and he replied with a bit of attitude and sarcastic manner"I don't know dang it! Just take me to the nearest hotel." The driver took him to the nearest hotel, and Kevin, still in a frustrated mood, checked into a room without saying much. As he entered the room, he threw his bag on the bed and slumped into a chair, feeling a mix of anger and helplessness. The events of the day had left him drained and irritated. As he sat there, his thoughts wandered to the promise he made to himself to fulfill his obligations, but the recent events had shaken his resolve. He couldn't shake off the feeling of being alone in a place where he didn't want to be.
The room felt suffocating, and Kevin decided to take a walk outside to clear his mind. The night air was cool, and the city lights twinkled in the distance. He walked aimlessly, lost in his thoughts, trying to make sense of the chaos that had unfolded since his arrival. As he walked, he passed by a small park where a group of children were playing. Their laughter and joyous shouts brought a flicker of warmth to his heart. It was a stark contrast to the turmoil he felt inside. Kevin found a bench and sat down, watching the children play. In that moment, he realized that amidst his own troubles, there was still beauty and innocence in the world. The night breeze carried a sense of calm, and he felt a glimmer of hope stirring within him.
He took a deep breath, letting go of the anger and frustration that had consumed him earlier. As he looked up at the starry sky, a sense of peace washed over him. Maybe, just maybe, there was a way to find solace in the midst of chaos. And with that thought, Kevin closed his eyes, letting the night embrace him with its quiet serenity.
Before returning to his room, he went to the hotel's reception area and asked if there was an available telephone to use, as he had lost his phone. The staff kindly assisted him and told him that there was a phone available in his room. He didn't notice this, as he was lost in thought when he arrived at his room. Back in his room, Kevin sank into the chair, the weight of his situation pressing down on him. He had a phone call to make, a crucial one, but his phone was gone. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration bubbling up again. He got up and started searching, his eyes scanning the room. The phone was nowhere to be found. He checked the nightstand, the desk, even under the bed, but it was as if it had vanished into thin air. As he was searching he stopped, his eyes falling on the small, unassuming phone on the nightstand. The one the receptionist mentioned. He hadn't even noticed it before. He picked it up, the unfamiliar weight of a phone a small comfort in the chaos. He dialed the number, his finger hovering over the green call button, "please answer the phone I have a favor to ask you" he said while pressing the button again and again, the phone ring loudly which filled the room with its noise.
"Hello?" a voice answered, a familiar voice that brought a wave of relief washing over him.
"It's me, Kevin," he said, his voice a mix of relief and desperation.
