chapter 1

Today yet again the neighbours heard the sound but he was again silent and his mother actually not his biological mother but his step mother and the poor boy's name was Daniel aka dan or so as his neighbors called him.

When he was nine years old was the time when his mother died, after his wife passed away,  Dan's father Mr Louis became a drunkard, he never had time for his son so when the step mother stepped into the house she controlled the house according to her.

After the beating Dan came out, his cheeks were stained with tears of pain and the tears were continuously rolling down his cheeks and wetting his clothes. Coming out from his room he sat down on the steps 

"Hey brat come in and take your food" this venomous voice belonged to his step mother. He stood up, rubbed his eyes and went in to take his food. 

As usual the same food, he came out with the plate and sat on the steps. 

Just as he was going to eat the food, sands were falling down on his food plate, he looked up and saw both step brothers showing their teeth. Dan threw the plate away and covering his face he started crying.

Then a pair of hands grasped his hands softly, he immediately looked up but because of the tears his eyes were dizzy after that he took his hands back and rubbed his eyes and looked then a smile spread on his lips.

Yes she was Carla, she knew that whenever Dan sits on the stairs it means that he is either beater by his mother or he hasn't eaten anything.

She softly said "what is it Dan has your mother beaten you again?"

He nodded silently looking down.

"why don't you say anything to your father" she said 

"I tried" Dan replied

"and?" Carla looked at him 

"my father stays drunk and-" Dan was cut off by a roaring voice 

"CARLA! CARLA! " Carla got scared hearing the voice.

"my uncle is calling me Dan I need to go" saying this she gave a packet to Dan and left.

Dan looked at her then opened the packet. He saw two buns with cheese.

Dan was just eleven years old and Carla was nine 

Some say time is powerful and it has wings, nobody knows when the time passes 

Today Dan is a nineteen years old, the small and timid boy has grown to be a handsome young man 

Dan's beautiful blue eyes made all the girls his fan, girls never missed a chance to cling at his broad chest and sometimes the girls really loved his height 

Which was 6'2 inches. Dan was just another word for perfect.

It was night,

The whole house of Louis was asleep, it was one hour before midnight when the door bell rang, Dan knew exactly who it was

He opened the door and supported his father like every other night Louis was a mess and wasted

He stumbled and Dan caught him 

Then Louis looked at Dan and smiled

"I am s- *hiccup* -o sorry my *hiccup* my son"

Whenever Louis was drunk he would always say sorry to Dan but Dan always asked why Louis always said sorry.

Dan slowly took Louis to his room and laid him down on the bed, after tucking his father he heard their dog melody barking, Dan always took great care of melody, he raised melody up.

Dan closed the door of his father's room and went out, he opened the gate and started peeling out.

He saw melody barking at an alley, the alley was a little dark so Dan walked towards it out of curiosity and went in.

Next morning, 

Chaos has erupted in the neighborhood, the siren of the cop's car was blaring, the people were peeking from the windows, the cops were picking up two dead bodies.

Dan who had slept much late last night couldn't wake up yet but the blaring sounds of siren and the chaos woke him up, he yawned and sat upright in his bed, he was still hearing the noise outside.

Dan rubbed his eyes and went towards his window,  he saw the next alley had chaos, he saw the cops carrying the second body.

After that Dan went inside the bathroom.

In the hall, 

"mom-mom where are you" a high pitch voice was heard in the hall

Then Mrs Kent,  stepmother of Dan yelled from the kitchen "why are you trying to make me deaf" 

"Mom David and Jimmy have been murdered" James and Henry also yelled, they were panting.

"what um what happened where were you two end why are you panting" Mrs Kent said coming from the kitchen 

"mom David and Jimmy are dead,  they were murdered, the police are taking their bodies" James repeated himself 

"have you gone insane what are you talking about" Mrs Kent scolded the two, her eyes were wide and brows furrowed 

Ring…..ring…. .ring, the phone rang so Mrs Kent picked up the phone 

Dan went to the roof climbing the stairs and in front of the railing supporting his hands on the railing and stared at the alley just then his eyes went to a girl who was glaring at the bodies and a sly smirk on her face.

The girl was wearing a black overcoat and her hat covered most of her face, her hair hung down on her shoulders and had a height of 5'7, her heels were sticking to the ground in a firm manner, there was a weird glint in her eyes, her pale coloured skin was shining under the sun, her eyes as sharp as a hawk

Then the girl looked at Dan's house then continued Her walk 

Mrs Kent received the call and in a serious voice said "hello", she was still shocked hearing the news of david and Jimmy 

"it's me dear"

"who is this idiot!" she spat
