The mountaineers

They group reached their destination earlier than expected.Yokujo was weirdly quiet.

"Something bothering you?", the bear asked. "You seem.....uneasy?"

"Leave me alone Karmic.....I'm fine."

ɪ sᴜᴘᴘᴏsᴇ ɪᴛ ᴍᴜsᴛ ʙᴇ ᴇxᴘʟᴀɪɴᴇᴅ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴇᴀʀ's ʀᴇᴀʟ ɴᴀᴍᴇ ɪs ᴋᴀʀᴍɪᴄ......ᴋᴀᴇɴ ᴄᴀʟʟs ʜɪᴍ ɢʀɪᴍ,ʜᴏᴡᴇᴠᴇʀ.

They traveled on past the towns and villages, up through the mountains. As the sky darkened, Kaen sensed a evil presence nearing them. "There is something out there...i can sense it.Whatever it is ,it is big...."

Before Kaen could finnish her sentence, they heard a yell. "Hurry! we must help!!"

What they found were two men surrounded by a hoard of Yallis.....dark life-sucking skeletons. These creatures would look their victims in the eye,and if there was fear, they would easily suck the very soul from them. The key was to behead them...which required a fearless warrior.

Karmic and Yokujo instantly took out their weapons...Yokujo her sword and gun, and Karmic his long handed sythe. Kaen stood back and readied a powerful light spell.

With a mighty roar that penetrated the forest and mountain side, Karmic swung his blade, beheading 15 skeletons in one sweep.But there seemed to be a never ending amount of the Yallis.Yokujo was above jumping from tree to tree, shooting some and slicing some."I see the source thats been replinishng them." she said. "There is a huge mother Yallis up ahead at the base of the hill."

Kaen had secured the two men somewhere safe so they could be questioned. "Stay here, if you try to run ill break your legs with one snap of my fingers."

The two men nodded.

"Kaen!!! I need a little help!" Yokujo shouted.

"Dont you think i know that?!" Kaen retorted.

"Grim I need you to clear a path so the mother Yallis is in my direct line of fire...Yokujo i need you to get the guarding yallis away from the mother.

"On it!"

Karmic broke the line with several mighty blows."Yokujo! Your turn!"

Yokujo had managed to position herself in a tree behind the mother Yallis.On the que ,she jumped down and clashed hard on the new Yallis surrounding the mother. Hearing the shrieks of pain from the Yallis set Yokujo ɪn her more primal wolfish killing moods. She ripped them apart with a savage smile and a rabid look in her eyes.

Meanwhile, Kaen was preparing for her attack. Taking some black dust called Vixen blood, she covered her fingers in the fine powder and positioned herself in direct line of fire of the Yallis mother.

"Ready!!!! " Karmic shouted.

"Jaakuna moon wa nageki kanashinde horobiru," Kaen chanted. "Subete no aku wa shinu."

A fiery light came shooting down the path Karmic had cleared, hitting the Mother Yallis directly. Yokujo was brought back to her senses at the sound of the blast.She looked stunned. "What the hell just happened ?"

Once the smoke cleared, they saw the mother was dead. With Yallis, once you kill the source of a hoard, then the whole offspring dies that were created from that particular source.

They all looked on in awe as the entire patch of forest in the fire line was leveled to dirt.

Yokujo turned to the two men."Who are you, and why were you travelling here unarmed?" she demanded.

One spoke up, " I'm Shi and this is my friend Nozomu . We were armed but we have never fought those things before, and our weapons broke."

"Seems downright stupid." Yokujo commented , as she glared at Shi. She instantly hated him. But then again, she usually hates anyone she meets at first.

Shi had white hair and a kind gentle face.He was a very handsome young man of about 17. Nozomu had brown hair and green eyes. Kaen was very unsure about his aura.....But she was nice. "You can travel with us till we reach the next town."

"Heck no...let themtake care of themselves." Yokujo said.

"Dont be like that Yoku. You two can travel with us.But dont cause any trouble or in will kill you myself." asserted Karmic.

In a town called Arues , a lone visitor came by. She looked normal, but then she didnt.Something was off and those who new anything at all were instinctively careful and kept their distance. Still, no one knew what was different....they just knew something was wrong. Her long hair and golden eyes ,seductive looks ,and overall attitude made all those around her who had any sense at all, very uneasy. "Who is she?" were the words on everyone's lips. They watched as she adjusted her loose jacket and walked into a quiet lounge. All eyes turned to her as she entered.Some even got up and left. But anyone who made direct eye contact with her could not look away. Some being dragged out by their friends, speculated that she was a death angel of sorts.Some said she was an enchantress. Some said otherwise. "Whoever she is, she does not belong in this town.We need to find a way to get her out." but no one would go to face her.

So they went and told the mayor that there was an "undesirable presence " in town.

"Sir, we sense an evil aura coming from this stranger, yet we dont know how to get her to leave the town. "

"Just go tell her to leave." the fat mayor chuckled, sipping his tea. "Sounds like a jolly good plan, eh?"

"But sir, no one wants to face her. When they do they just stand there silently staring ."

"Hahahahah! " the mayor boomed, " Sounds likely you boys are just scared to talk to a lady."

"No sir it isnt like that. We sense that she-"

"Enough ! " said the mayor. " Go deal with it , and dont interrupt my lunch again! And you there sirrah!!!! bring me some cookies."

Meanwhile the stranger was still in the town. Looking around her, she saw a group in the distance. She licked her lips.

" Huum.....this should be interesting ." she said.
