Chapter 3: It's You

*busy street… honking horns of vehicles, people walking in the sidewalk and streets

*in the Coffee Shop named "Amore"

*doorbell’s ringing as people enter and exits the coffee shop

*people in the coffee shop chattering (some laughing, some reading newspapers, some enjoying reading books)

Lane's P.O.V

Hi, my name is Lane Hale, an Omega, who is born in an average family. I dropped out of school ever since I confirmed that my secondary gender result is Omega.

I never thought that I could be an omega... because both of my parents and my younger sister were all betas.

As soon as my friends in middle school knew that, that I was an omega...

they treated me differently.

I was nearly assaulted by my closest friend Kiel, whom I thought... would understand and accept me...no matter what I am or who will I become.

I am currently working here at the coffee shop owned by my uncle Gayle Cohen, who is also an Omega like me.

He was the person who saved me from my darkest time when I became an Omega. He is mom’s younger brother, and she asked him to help me from my situation.

I never left my room... as I felt like I was dying every time my heat arrived…

my family couldn't understand me as they are all betas...

but I know they too are suffering and feeling guilty as I was born as an Omega.

*Gayle is busy preparing the coffees and pastries for the costumers

Gayle: Lane? Can you help me serve this to the costumer, I’m kind of loaded here?

*Lane at the counter waiting for costumer’s orders

Lane: Ah! Yes uncle.

Gayle: *smile

Lane: *was confused but still responds to a smile

No problem.

Meanwhile, in the president’s office, Edward was somewhat bothered of what the omega did to him that morning.

He left without giving reasons for what he was doing in the alley, and got nearly assaulted or even letting him know who he was.

*In the office, Edward was busy signing and checking the documents

*The secretary knocks at the President’s Office

*knock knock

Edward: Come in.

*Secretary is handing the documents to Edward

Secretary: Here are the documents you asked this morning, Mr. President.

Edward: Good.

*Search the pages of the documents and suddenly saw Lane’s profile

Edward: *talking to himself

Edward: So It’s you, huh? Mr. Lane Hale… you dare leave me this morning without notice or even expressing gratitude to me for saving you…

Omegas really are reeking of unpleasant pheromones and are cunning…

I detest them and their pheromones.

Edward: You may go now and send some of our men to send him here immediately.

Secretary: I’ll inform you immediately of their coming Mr. President.

*Secretary leaves the room

Little did Lane know that it caused great trouble for him in the future of what happened last night…

(The night Lane got nearly assaulted)

The coffee shop is a small, well-known shop because of its finest coffee and pastries.

It was established by a well-known pastry chef, which is Gayle Cohen, Lane’s uncle.

The business is doing well; however, the reason why Lane is living in a rundown apartment is for him to save it for his medicine and for his future plans.

Gayle asked Lane to live with him in his own house, but Lane wanted to become an independent person who is responsible for himself and he doesn't like to trouble his uncle anymore than he ever did.

*The outside environment is already quite dark because it's already 5 P.M.

Gayle left earlier from work because he needs to buy some ingredients for his new pastry dessert and he asked Lane to close the shop before dark.

Lane on the other hand did not leave earlier than what Gayle supposedly reminded him…

He is still cleaning the shop, and he then tosses the garbage bags in the alleyway of the shop.

The alleyway was quite dark and quiet...

while Lane tosses the bag of garbage, his heat suddenly comes and it attracts a lot of people.

In that dark alley, a random man smelled the Lane's omega pheromone in heat.

He lost his mind due to the effects of the pheromones produced by the heat. That random man attacked and gripped Lane’s arms and forcibly kissed and sniffed Lane's neck.

Lane was struggling and trying to get through that man’s force and pheromones.

Lane: Stop it! Ughh… Please noo!!… I don’t want this… *crying

*The unknown man maliciously laughed and smirked

Unknown Man: Hehehe… I know that you want this…*licks Lane’s neck

Lane: *begging and crying

At that time, Edward heard something in the alley, and he saw that a man was being assaulted.

Edward hurriedly goes to where Lane was.

Moreover, Edward saw Lane who was laying on the ground and his clothes were torn apart and messed up.

When Edward is about to ask Lane if he was alright and would ask him what was he doing in the dark alley, he suddenly smelled a waft of Lane’s pheromone and immediately reacted to it…

Lane pulled Edward’s necktie towards him and asked for Edward’s help in Lane’s condition…

Present time

Men in black suddenly enter the coffee shop and asked about Lane’s whereabouts and exactly Lane appears...

coming out from the kitchen, bringing with him the coffees and pastries Gayle asked him to serve to the costumers.

Lane dropped the tray full of pastries and coffees ordered by the customers in front of them.

He then suddenly remembered what had happened last night and thought that it might be the man who was seeking him.

Gayle heard the commotion and saw the tray Lane dropped and the men in black.

Gayle: Lane, what happened?!

* saw the men in black and were shocked

Gayle: Lane, who are they?

What are they doing here… are we in trouble or something? *worried and nervous

Lane: Uhmm… Uncle… I made a terrible mistake last night… a-and…

I think they were looking for me… *nervous

Gayle: *shocked from what he heard from Lane

Gayle: What?! What mistake?

Didn’t you say this morning you closed the shop yesterday and everything okay? Are you fine? Why are they looking for you?

*men in black suddenly interrupted their conversation

Men in black: Are you perhaps Mr. Hale? *poker face

Lane: Y-yes… I am. *anxiously answered

Men in black: We would like you to come with us in this instance, for the president was looking for you, and he commanded us to bring you to his office as soon as possible.

Gayle: Lane, what really happened yesterday? And why does that...

Their boss was looking for you? Are you in big trouble?

*worried and scared for Lane’s situation

Lane: *talks to the men in black

I’ll go with you, Sir.

Lane: Uncle… I'm sorry about what happened here...

I dropped the tray and caused a commotion...

Gayle comforted Lane by tapping his back
