Liya awoke to the soft glow of dawn filtering through her curtains, the same pinkish sky greeting her like an old friend. It was 5:30 AM, a time when the world was still cloaked in quietness, save for the chirping of early birds. The room was a familiar sanctuary, and her routine was a comforting rhythm—one that, to many, might seem dull, but to Liya, it was a grounding practice.
After freshening up in the bathroom, she made her way to the kitchen, the aroma of her special smoothie blending with the morning air. It was a blend of fruits and nutrients she had perfected over the years. Feeling energized, she donned her yoga attire and headed to her aerial yoga class, where she found peace in the gentle sway and stretch of her body. It was her escape from the chaos of the business world, a chance to reconnect with herself.
Back home, she took a refreshing shower and prepared for the day ahead. Makeup was minimal—just a touch of blush and a swipe of nude lipstick

As she descended the stairs, the enticing smell wafting from the kitchen brought a smile to her face. Ella, her devoted housekeeper, was unpacking a batch of her mother’s special avocado pancakes.
“Morning, Ella!” Liya greeted, her stomach rumbling in anticipation.
Ella looked up, her warm smile infectious. “Good morning, Miss Liya! I just finished unpacking them. Would you like apple juice with that?”
“Of course!” Liya replied, excitement bubbling within her. She enjoyed her breakfast slowly, savoring each bite, feeling the comfort of her mother’s cooking wrap around her like a warm hug.
Once she finished, she grabbed her coffee cup—filled with apple juice, her guilty pleasure—and headed to the car. As she settled into the driver’s seat, she dialed her mother’s number.
“Good morning, my Li!” Sara’s voice sang through the phone, cheerful and bright.
“Good morning, Mum! The pancakes were finger-licking yummy,” Liya said, grinning.
“Of course they were! I made them. So, what’s on your agenda today?” Sara asked, her curiosity evident.
“I’m meeting Mia. Tell her not to forget—sharp at 1 PM at our spot, okay?”
“Okay! And remember, be safe. Don’t fire anyone today. And no more than two glasses of apple juice!”
“Got it, Mum. Bye, take care!”
“Bye, love you!” The call ended, leaving Liya feeling light-hearted as she drove toward SL Group.
Arriving at her office, she quickly dove into her work, her mind sharp and focused. As she scrolled through her phone during a brief break, she noticed the news trending about SL Enterprises and Mr. Ree. A smile crept onto her lips; the pieces were falling perfectly into place.
At 12:30 PM, she left the office, heading to La Amour Café, the cozy spot she shared with her best friend, Mia. The cafe was an intimate haven, a place where they could escape the pressures of their respective worlds. As she took her seat at their usual table, the owner, Marie, promptly served her Oreo cookie shake topped with marshmallows—a small indulgence she had come to love.
Waiting for Mia, the minutes ticked by slowly. At 1:15 PM, just as she began to wonder if Mia would be late, her phone buzzed with a message.
Mia: At the cafe in 5 minutes! Please wait—don’t you dare leave!
Five minutes later, the door swung open, and rushed in Mia, a whirlwind of energy. Her snow-blond hair bounced as she moved, and her icy blue eyes sparkled with urgency.
“Hi, Li!” she exclaimed, her adorable smile lighting up the room.
“Hi,” Liya replied, maintaining her poker face, though a smirk threatened to escape.
Mia flopped into the chair across from her, breathless. “Come on! I had an urgent surgery last minute. You know my hospital is hectic! And as the youngest head of the hospital in history, I’ve got a reputation to uphold!” She pouted slightly, a mixture of pride and exasperation.
Liya chuckled, unable to keep her straight face any longer. “You’re incredible, you know that? But you really need to manage your time better.”
“Oh, please!” Mia waved a hand dismissively. “Like you’re one to talk. You run an empire before breakfast! Now, tell me about your plans. Did you get any juicy gossip from the office?”
Liya leaned in, her voice conspiratorial. “You won’t believe what happened with Mr. Ree…” And as she launched into the details, the weight of the morning slipped away, leaving only the comfort of friendship and laughter.
