And survive.

Do that, then win. Win for mankind.

Taking out both of her swords, Charlotte rushes to slice her opponents head off. Success.

"Charlotte! To your left!" One of her close comrades, Emilia Stanford, shouted from a not so far distance.

Charlotte was surprised by the sudden attack.

A class 10? Seriously?

Was what she thought. The creature was small and weak. It was nothing compared to Charlotte or any of the slayers.

She looks at it's head, her eyes widening at the sight.

No

When she had stepped a foot forward ready to swing her blades, she stops at her own tracks.

Brother?

The older sibling that she had not seen for 10 years, appeared right before her eyes.

No. That's not him.

She knew that. And yet, why? Why does her tears still fall? Because she hadn't seen him for long? No. Maybe?

"Charlotte!!" Jin Casper shouted as he rushes in to save her. He spins 360° for style and slices off the creature's head, killing it.

Both Charlotte and the creature dropped onto the ground.

"What are you doing!?" Jin shouts scolding her, holding her shoulders, shaking her. "Snap out of it! That was a class 10 and yet you were almost killed! Charlotte Heavenhart come back to your senses, nobody will have the time to save you if get yourself in trouble again!!" He shouts still not getting through her.

Jin stood up and kicked Charlotte in the face, hard enough to make her mouth bleed.

"The battlefield is cruel. You have comrades to fight alongside with, but not everyone will be willing to save you. That class 10 creature just now, did it look like one of your siblings? It was a boy, perhaps it looked like your brother?" Charlotte flinched hearing those two words. Jin took it as a yes. "Don't let it deceive you." Jin said coldly, turning his back on her.

"Survive. Survive.  And survive. Then win." Were the last words Jin said, before going back to the battle field.

Right..

Charlotte stood up with fiery eyes.

My brother's dead.

She ran towards one of her comrades and saved her from the creature who approached from behind.

These things killed him.

"Ah, thanks Charlotte." Her comrade said.

"Be careful next time Emily, I don't want your twin, Emilia, losing her shit just because her sister died." -Charlotte

"You too, we wouldn't want Jin losing his shit too right?" Emily said smirking.

"Wha..?" -Charlotte

"Charlotte! To your right, five class 8 approaching!" Emilia shouts "Emily, help her!"

"Right!" Emily shouted back as both her and Charlotte moves.

They took down four each without any casualties.

"Emily, you almost forgot to stab their hearts again. You know those things will stay alive unless you stab them right through their hearts." -Charlotte

"Hehehe sorry, I did stab it in time though so.." Emily smiled scratching the back of her neck.

"AI sharpen." Emily comanded her *AI bracelet and it sharpened her sword.

(*AI Bracelets are 5042's advanced technology that slayers use as their assistant during battle.)

"Everyone we're clear here and ready to move!" Jin shouted. "Yes sir!" Everyone saluted and got on their horses.

"That was another record!" -Emily

"Huh?" -Jin

"Well...for us atleast, we finished them much quicker than before since they were weaker than usual." -Emilia

Charlotte looked back at the lying corpses. Jin noticed her but payed no attention.

He really does look like my brother.

"Shouldn't we go back for now? We already cleared the area we were suppose to clear." Emily said yawning.

"Are you dumb or something Emily?" -Emilia

"We only killed twenty, and the reports said there were fifty." -Emilia

"Ah! Right. Sorry." Emily said not really meaning it.

"We could rest for now though." Miles Davis, their vice leader said.

Jin sighs, and agreed.

They all stopped for a while as they drank water and regained energy.

                               Jin's Flashback

                        ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ

"Mom.." Jin calls his mom pulling a part of her shirt, his mom looks at him.

"Hm?" -his mom

"Why do people love?" Jin innocently asks.

His mom was taken aback by his question so she asked him where he learned that. Jin was eight at the time.

"I heard two people say 'I love you' at the park, you and dad say that to me too and I say it back but, I don't really know what it means..." -Jin

"Well love is something you say to people who are important to you." -his mom

Jin looked at her confuse and she laughs. "When's the moment you've felt the happiest?" His mom asked.

Jin stared to space for a bit to think. "When dad comes home and then we're all together!" He said smiling

"Then, multiply that feeling by a million." -his mom

"Mul...tiply...? But I hate math..." Jin poutes, his mom smiles.

"Then, just feel what you wanna feel. You'll know what love is when time comes." His mom said patting his head.

"When will that be?" Jin asks. "Who knows?" His mom replied.

"Mom!" Jin runs down strairs calling for his mom. "Mom look-" His eyes widen.

Dad...why...why are you hurting mom..? Don't you love her?

"You're useless!" His dad shouts as he slaps her hard enough to make her fall onto the ground.

Jin's p.o.v

I grew up in a family that treasured each other.

We were happy. I was happy.

Dad would come home from work, mom would cook meals, and send me to school on her way to work.

We'd go out to eat, we'd always spent time together whenever we could.

It has always been like that - but ever since that day, my world crumbled and my life changed.

Mom who always cooked meals for us, didn't even bother to anymore, she'd cook but just enough for herself.

Dad who always came home every weekend, never came back.

And the word love that I never fully understood, didn't make any sense anymore.

A year after that, a horrible tragedy happened.

                              Emily's p.o.v

"Jin? Hello...?" Charlotte waved her hand infront of Jin who was staring into space.

"You okay? We need to get going before the sun sets remember?" -Charlotte

Jin was confused at first as if he was wondering of what was happening.

"What?" He stared at Charlotte who stared back at him. "Oh- right yeah. Let's go." Both Charlotte and Jin rides their horses and so did everyone.

"Everyone let's go!" Miles shouted as everyone rides off.
