Dinner (part 1)

3rd person POV

In the warm home of Kimberly and her husband, there was a very tensed atmosphere. There was a very akward silence which no one bothered to break until Kimberly decided to break the tension.

"So... Ummm guys, do you want to eat some dinner!" Said Kimberly trying to be cheerful. She didn't know why but she felt that there was something going on between her friend and husband.

Alaska and Alex awkwardly followed Kimberly with the tension slowly increasing by the second. Neither one of them, expected this situation.

They all arrived at a room with a grey wood table at the side of the room with 2 chairs on one side and a bench on another side. There was a centerpiece filled with fake fruits for plain decoration. On the other side of the room was a small kitchen with a bunch of green artificial and real plant combo decorated all over the kitchen. It made the kitchen look lively, and full of warmth.

It was very silent until Kimberly finally broke it free from it's chains.

"I'm going to umm take a bath and freshen up, why don't you two talk for a while and get to know each other." Kimberly said.

Kimberly then kissed her husband on the cheek with warmth, and smiled at Alaska full of warmth. She then slowly headed to the bath to give a long time for her best friend and husband to get along with each other. After all they are going to live in the same house.

"Umm how are you." Alex started the conversation.

"Good." Alaska answered dryly.

Akward tension threatened to fill the air as nobody was talking and they each other were pretty shocked to know they were living together. Alex was tapping his foot on the carpet which blocked the noise he was making. Alaska was biting her nails to drive the tension out.

Alex finally looked at her and thought, 'She still bites her nails like did in university, god what to do with her.' He then smiled and laughed at his own thoughts.

Finally after about what seemed like an eternity, Kimberly came out looking fresh and neat. She went to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and took out 4-5 food dishes.

Alex went to the kitchen to help her, and Alaska followed behind him so it would look like she wasn't a burden to them.

Alaska was trying to locate the dishes and then she found the cabinet. It was too high up for her to reach, so she tried to jump for. Right as she was standing on her tippy toes, Alex's hand went above her head for the dishes. Alaska's heart was beating erratically out of her chest as she felt his presence was to close. Little did she know the Alex's heart was beating in sync with her. He took the dishes and set it out in front of her.

"Thanks." Alaska cleared her throat and said quickly.

She was hiding her blush as best as she can as she set the rest of the dinner table with the plates.

'I can't fall for her husband, this is wrong!' Alaska thought firmly.

Little did she know how she affected him as much as he affected her.
