The sun that was shinning out from the window through the curtains had caused Akaashi to wake up, squinting his eyes from the sun he sat up straight and looked around.
So it wasn't a dream Akaashi thought.
Standing up from the bed and continue his day like nothing happened last night. Not even wanting to do anything he knew he still had to take care of himself. Looking at himself in the mirror of his bathroom he observed his face, not even the slightest changes from the past 1025 years.
Clenching his fist and biting his bottom lip he mumbled "So this curse really is immortal"
Cursing at himself, he continued to take a bath. The cold running water falling from the shower had made his body less tense than before, more assuredly he's calmed down. Walking out and wrapping the towel in his waist and using another for his hair he noticed a text message popped out of his phone.
"Bokuto-san?!" He doesn't even need to look closer the contact was. He was sure that it was Bokuto who messaged him.
[Bokuto]
Akaashi! Sorry you didn't get to visit me yesterday, I didn't feel good that's all!
I hope your doing there as well because I am!
Looking at the messaged Bokuto sent Akaashi smiled, and once he realized he composed himself Keiji why are you smiling you look like a literal idiot. But Akaashi can't help it at all, just reading the message made Akaashi felt like he was there saying it personally.
[Akaashi]
I'm doing well Bokuto-san, and I'm glad your alright.
Putting his phone rushing to take his clothes and make breakfast. Akaashi was never as exited or hyped up like this before in the morning. His mornings were filled with dread and exhaustion but it seemed like today was different.
Grabbing his bag and placing his phone inside, he then rushed to the door and slid on to his shoes, he paused as he forgot to bring something. Walking to the kitchen grabbing a paper bag big enough to fit the item, he folded it neatly and placed it in, and in no time Akaashi was already out the door driving his way to the hospital.
The car ride was silent and he was slowed by traffic again, sighing, he played some tunes that was in his car. This song again? Just when he was about to press 'next' a part of the song made him not to.
I have died waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years...
I love you for a thousand more
Understanding the lyrics he heard, he retorted his hand back to the steering wheel and hummed to the music. Akaashi had to admit, the song was nice describing how he felt. I didn't know there'd be a song similar to what I feel.
The song from start to finish was soothing and calming, never thought that he'd actually have a love song as one of his favorites. He didn't even notice the traffic was gone, he was listening too much and vibing with it that he didn't realize the traffic had faded.
The hospital was near and he could already see it from the corner of his eye, entering the underground parking lot he parked near the entrance and hopped out of the car. Grabbing his back bag and wearing it behind him, he also brought the light brown paper bag.
Walking to the hospital doors, Akaashi was welcomed by the scent of the hospital. As much as he didn't want to pass through the white walls and corners of the hospital, he was eager to meet Bokuto even if his life exchanges with it.
Looking for his door number, there were no guards nor doctors not even a nurse could stop him from meeting Bokuto again, slightly trembling on grabbing the door handle, he slid it open just to see two people who seemed familiar from before.
"Akaashi!" Bokuto exclaimed.
"Oya~ So this the Akaashi you were talking about" The bed hair man added.
"Ohayo" The pudding head who was seemed busy on his video game seated beside the bedhead.
Kuroo and Kenma? He thought.
"Akaashi meet two of my friends"
"Kuroo Tesurou"
"Kenma Kozume"
Akaashi bowed down at the two guest and sat beside Bokuto as there was empty chair beside the bed. Bokuto who was busy talking with Kuroo and Kenma who ignored the annoying rooster beside him gave Akaashi the familiar feeling.
This is similar back in high school... as well as Bokuto with Kuroo in his past life.
Kenma who placed his phone down looked at Akaashi. "Akaashi-kun, can we talk?" Akaashi who was startled and slightly nervous about what was he about to tell.
"Sure" Akaashi replied.
"Privately"
Kuroo who heard our conversation shifted their heads towards us. "Kenma? Where are you two going?" Kuroo asked. "I'll just have a little chat with Akaashi that's all" Kenma replied.
The both of them stood up, Kenma averted his eyes to the door signalizing to talk outside. Ok this is mad serious.
Kenma opening the door, the two stepped outside making Akaashi close the door behind him. Kenma looked around from side to side if anyone was in the hallway. He sat down on one of the chairs that was just slightly in front of Bokuto's room door. He crossed his hands and gazed at Akaashi.
"So what are you going to tell me Kenma-san?"
The air stiffened which gave them more of a serious atmosphere.
"How many years are you living on Akaashi" Kenma not showing a bit of his emotion and showing his straight serious face.
"What?" Akaashi who was confused and shocked that Kenma knew about his condition.
"You know what I mean, mine is at 1026"
"You... you have it too?"
Kenma who nod his head slightly in response. "1025..." Akaashi finally answered Kenma's question.
"It's hard isn't it?" Kenma asked.
"Yeah..."
"Where did you meet him"
"At his grave"
"Huh, same"
A momentum of silence filled the air, Kenma sighed deeply then looked at Akaashi.
"I didn't expect yours would happen so soon"
"What do you mean?"
"Do you really think that Bokuto would stay here that long because his head hit the floor?"
Now that Kenma said it, Akaashi was thinking twice on Bokuto's health. What if Bokuto does die like before...is he really going to die?
"Akaashi, you might be thinking your thoughts right now but it's going to end soon. Trust me"
"What do you mean it's going to end soon?"
"Your going to find out soon, mine starts at the moment I get your number." That being said, Kenma took out his phone and gave it to Akaashi.
"W.. why are you doing this to yourself? Shouldn't you be happy that you can prevent Kuroo's death...?'
"Akaashi, I'm sick and tired of being stuck in this immortality shit"
"If I would then how would this curse end then? Nothing would change even after!"
"Akaashi, you really are clueless about the curse huh." Kenma's pudding hair, he tucked it behind his ear revealing three white stars trailing from the top to the bottom behind his ear.
"See these three stars? It will slowly fade away one by one if your soulmate is going to be on the verge of death. The last star is for you, once the star fades you'll die and that's the end of your immortality."
Akaashi who watched Kenma demonstrate he touched the three stars behind his ear, surprisingly he can feel it, the ends were sharp and thorny. Why haven't I noticed this before... was I that careless of my body?
"You still have three stars left, but the first is fading. I noticed it earlier when you came in"
"How... how do you know all of this?"
"Remember Daichi and Iwaizumi? They are also living with the curse, we're all on the same stage Akaashi and you're the first. Everything is just like a massive loop going over and over except you living through dimensions"
"What do you mean by first...?"
"Let's just say, prepare for whatever comes. Things are going to happen soon especially that your first star is fading"
Kenma who stood up from the chair and held the door knob, but before he opened the door he said to Akaashi "Wish you the best" and opened the door.
"Oh Kenma! What did you guys talk about with Akaashi?" Kuroo asked. Kenma who looked behind at Akaashi and smiled lightly.
"We were talking about Christmas and snow, that's all oh and I asked for his number as well"
"I see"
"Well thank you for your time and letting us visit you Bokuto-san, we have to go I still have a meeting in an hour"
Bokuto who's hair somehow deflated pouted at the two. "Alright, take care..."
"Sorry bro, I'll have to visit you in another time" Kuroo apologized. The two walked out and shut the door behind them leaving Akaashi and Bokuto left in the room.
"Akaashi"
"Ne? Bokuto-san?"
"What is that brown paper bag over there?" Bokuto asked while pointing out the brown paper bag. Akaashi then took it placing it beside Bokuto.
"It's for you Bokuto-san"
"For me?!" Bokuto exclaimed while opening the bag. Once he opened it, it reveal the insides and there were three things that Bokuto used to love the most.
