Blood.

And other wounds.

Running up the stairs and the people who came with the ambulance went with Akaashi. Every step he took up had made him feel weak in the legs, but no matter what happens he must save Bokuto, whether it was a light scratch or a mere trip.

Sweat dripping down as he ran, he typed the pass code as quickly as possible and kicked the door open.

His eyes went from left to right and ran inside the hallway towards his room, turning the knob rapidly as the door was locked, he whispered...

"I'm sorry for doing this" And kicked the door open leaving the broken handle.

As the door opened hitting the wall he saw Bokuto on the floor.

Unconscious.

Pale.

Blood.

He was unconscious on the floor with his pale face, Just by looking at him you can see that he haven't been eating and sleeping properly. Blood was running down, dripping on the floor making a puddle of blood under his head and pieces of glass shards were on the floor.

At this point from what Akaashi saw he didn't move nor flinch, he froze. What he saw was unbelievable he blamed himself for what happened to Bokuto.

"GOD DAMMIT" Akaashi screamed in his head.

"Sir we will take the patient and deliver him to the emergency room"

Akaashi nod and followed them outside, taking his own car trailing the fast ambulance behind.

Emergency lights were flashing rapidly and the vehicles were moving in a fast pace.

Akaashi mind starting to go blank making him sweat nervously.

"He's gonna be fine..." A phrase that kept repeating again and again in Akaashi's head.

----------------------------

"I'm sorry" we're the words he remembered before collapsing on the floor. As he fell his surroundings became slower in time, his body felt light,  feeling at ease.

Not knowing what else to do as he was weak, he closed his eyes and let his body fall on the floor, until he saw a glimpse of an object making him shock.

Trying his best to move his arms and avoid this object he was to late to respond.

If you're wondering what the object was, it was a picture frame that contained Bokuto and a boy as the same age as him, his head was ripped out from the photo. Leaving a scratched, torn and incomplete picture.

Bokuto cherished this photo as it was old and thought that this was important, something valuable, so he placed in a glass frame.

However on that day when Bokuto felt unconscious his head had hit the glass poking and stabbing his head making blood drip out creating a puddle under.

Bokuto, himself who was unconscious knew that he collapsed, he could hear his surroundings but it was just fuzzy noises.

Black pitch darkness were the only thing that he could see, he couldn't move a single part of his body neither able to speak a word.

But what he only knew one thing for sure is that Akaashi came after him, he knew even though he didn't expect anyone would come and save him. Just by the presence of Akaashi he was smiling, slightly feeling joy inside.

But in the outside he looked like a dead man.

-----------------

Days had passed since that incident, it was reported in the news and known as "Attempt suicide". Akaashi who thought it was fake seemed real.

"Did Bokuto-san attempted suicide because of me?" Akaashi thought as gripping on the red scarf that he was holding.

Bokuto had still remained unconscious for weeks as the cuts in his head were quite deep making him unable to wake up anytime soon.

The doctors even thought that he might be in a comma for an estimated amount of years as Bokuto didn't show any consciousness during his stay at the hospital.

Akaashi was worried thinking that he was on the verge of death, but the most of he could think of right now is helping Bokuto wake up.

Akaashi once again visited the hospital, family members were unknown and was not reached nor found. They believed that Bokuto was an orphan and move out the orphanage making him live alone in his current home but he told stories about his family before he left to Tokyo in the past.

Walking in the white halls of the place he remembered the exact same incident happened a thousand years ago.

"Apathy-kun!"

"Don't call me that"

"What should I call you then?"

"Akaashi... Call me Akaashi"

Stepping up the stairs and heading towards Bokuto's room, he saw a doctor along with a nurse by his side.

That doctor then passed by Akaashi saying that Bokuto had woken up, a miracle had happened.

By these news he heard he was happy and cracked a smile onto his face.

Running towards the door, he slid it open to the side and looking at Bokuto. Akaashi, however did not expect a gloomy owl.

When the doors opened Bokuto didn't bother to look as he knew that it was Akaashi who rushed in to see him.

Akaashi was slightly dissapointed and closed the door behind him. Walking closer to the bed, Bokuto laid down and faced the opposite way of Akaashi towards the window.

He sat down on the bed of Bokuto and lightly touched his arm that was located in front of his stomach.

The presence and embrace of Akaashi had made Bokuto in ease; safe.

"What are you doing here?" Bokuto mumbled.

"I came to see a friend" Akaashi replied.

"Then go, go to that friend of yours. Why are you here when you're supposed to be with them."

Akaashi sighed as Bokuto thought that he wasn't forgiven of his mistake just yet. Finally proving it, he placed the paper bag that he was holding on the floor and hugged Bokuto.

Bokuto who was shocked at his embrace started to stutter the words coming out from his mouth.

"h-huh? Akaashi, w-what are you doing?"

"I wanted to give a hug to my one and only friend, showing forgiveness that he thought he sinned" Akaashi replied.

The owl head started tearing up, by the words of Akaashi he was relieved of what he heard and was ready to face him.

Slowly moving his head, he finally saw Akaashi, Akaashi smiled at Bokuto brightly and Bokuto cracked a small smile as well.

"Silly don't cry, I'm right here"

Akaashi said as wiping Bokuto's tears with his hand and thumb.

"Ne Bokuto-san, promise me something"

"What is it Akaashi...?"

Akaashi cupped Bokuto's face and moving his thumb making a comfortable touch to Bokuto's face.

"Promise me, to never leave me"

Bokuto then moved his weak arms to meet with Akaashi's hands.

"I promise"
