Episode 3

Armaan was heading downstairs, when he heard the noise of a child crying, his foot stopped there .

A servant was walking nearby, Armaan called him." Who is crying? " he asked .

" sir. Sir , its aria baby, the girl sir brought today " servant told him and he pinched his lips .he didnt think that the girl his mom talked about was so young .from the high pitched cries, Armaan could tell that baby wasn’t older than 2 years old .

Armaan forced his foot down, thankfully, his parents were there for dinner .he settled down and said " mom, the baby was crying ."

His mom sighed " i hired her previous nanny, so that it would be easier for the baby to settle, but the baby keeps crying on small things .i have called the doctor also. Nothing is wrong, she is just irritated."

His father didnt make any comment, Armaan was disturbed but he stopped thinking about it and got busy in his stuff.

Armaan loved his younger brother, but they weren’t attached, maybe because of the age difference or because his brother was a total nerd , who preferred reading then any other thing.

Next day, after coming from school, Armaan headed towards his room”.He again heard the voice of her crying. Her room was the one infront of stairs, whereas armaan's was at the end of the corridor .

He freshened up and decided to head down. The baby's cries were now full on wails .armaan couldn’t hold it anymore .he opened the door and saw a middle aged woman sitting beside the baby's cradle and trying to quieten her, but tiresomeness on her face was clear .

Armaan went near and saw the baby girl. She was red from crying, tears streaking her cheeks .armaan picked up the baby, without a second thought, his heart had constricted seeing her weeping so badly. He didnt understand , how the lady was just sitting beside her.

Armaan cradled the baby in his arms , and started rocking her. Soon she stopped crying, but her breathing was still irregular from crying .

" why was she crying? " armaan asked the lady in strict tone .

" mam used to handle her, i only took care of her feeder and other things .she is not getting used to me, she starts crying after every few minutes" the nanny told him, talking about aria's mom.

Armaan's heart melted, thinking about the small baby missing her mother ." How old is she? " he asked .

" she is only 10 months old" nanny said .

The baby was relaxed now , her face hidden on his side .armaan kissed her head and laid her back. She looked at him with curious eyes .

Armaan smiled and touched her cheek .he turned to leave, his mind was thinking about his actions. It was NOT him smiling and caring for a baby.

He was close to the door, when aria started crying again ." Is she hungry? " armaan asked and picked her up. “no ,i have fed her just a while ago " she said.

Armaan also understood that she wasn’t hungry as she stopped crying immediately after being cradled in his arms .

Armaan was hungry also, he decided to take aria down with him. He sat with aria in his lap, she was quietly looking at him in fascination.

She opened her mouth as if wanting him to feed her, armaan turned towards her nanny," can she eat it? " armaan said pointing towards his rice plate.

" rice are spicy, you can give her some mashed potato " she said and went away .aria was a cute baby, but only a job for her nanny. She couldn’t give the love or attention aria needed. Aria was used to her mom's loving ways.

Armaan took some potato and fed her .she ate less , but make a mess more .armaan was chuckling and cleaning her face again and again with his napkin.

After eating , armaan played with her for sometime. Her eyes had started going droopy, armaan rocked her in his arms for sometime, and soon she was asleep.

Armaan placed her on her bed and headed outside .it was around 5 pm.

Rafay and musa were waiting for him." Where were you? " they asked.

" i forgot to check the time .lets head inside now " armaan said, they had come to watch a football match.
