Episode 5

Richard:"Alright class we are going to need a representive for the annual school festival anyone wanna go for it?"

"Uh? I'm kinda busy lately I don't have a lot of time."

"Yea me too"

(Heh all of them just dodging the role, well not that I'm complaining why would anyone want to do something they have no interest in. Well pretty sure that sums up 90% of school anyways.)

Richard:"Alright then if nobody wants to do it, I guess we shall do a randomiser with the computer."

Michael:"You know man you should probably sign up"

Daniel:"What? For what reason, I have no interest in doing that."

Michael:"Well with all the high and mighty things you talk about this job would be pretty suited for ya!" Michael smiled as he gave me the most carefree look in the world.

Richard:"Okay, Daniel your up!"

Daniel:"WHAT!" I stood up from my seat with my mouth agape as the whole class lit up with applause

Daniel:"But why me? I don't even like this sort of thing."

"Well blame the computer not me" Ms Koto smiled at me with a face of pure happiness, I bet she's enjoying watching me work after that essay I wrote.

"Good for you man, do a good job for the class." Isaac smiled and congratulated me.

"Damn that charisma is hard to turn down, even for me. I can't help but be magnetised by by his personality, truly an embodiment of a perfect kid."

"Yeah, I hope I don't screw up anything." I laughed awkwardly.

Richard:"Please go to the meeting room after school for the committee meeting Daniel."

"Right thanks ." I said with the most fake smile ever. "I bet even some of the girls in this school can't compete with level of fakeness I'm putting into this smile right now." I awkwardly thought to myself

As the bell rang, Daniel walked to the meeting room he couldn't help but wonder why life had did this to him. He scoffed at the school system for these petty superficial policies to attempt to get students to bond but really just makes the situation worse for everyone involved.

"Woah!" Daniel accidentally hit someone while being too deep in thought.

"My apologies I wasn't looking straight." As he opened his eyes the same long flowing black hair greeted his eyes as the hair swayed past, the same bluish black eyes greeted him.

"Oh hi Jasmine." Daniel awkwardly waved

"How rude! I expect you to think with that self proclaimed genius brain of yours." said Jasmine with upmost confidence and that very familiar icy gaze.

It's like she's barely fazed by what just happened. As they both stood and picked up their dropped items Daniel couldn't help but notice a particular handout.

Daniel: "Committee schedule... you're on the committee as well?"

Jasmine: "Yes I was forced to by my class, honestly those people just pushed what their unwanted work on me."

Daniel: "Oh once again I'm in agreement Ms Jasmine." I jokingly said but was once again surprised at how similar she was to me.

Rosalia: "Oh Jasmine all the best for the committee meeting!" A familiar voice interjected from behind.

''Oh thanks I will do my best!" Jasmine smiled as if she had seen an angel descending from heaven.

Rosalia:"Oh Daniel... you're in the committee too huh?"

Daniel:"Yeah, not by choice though Rosalia."

"Well all the best to you two. Oh crap! I'm running late for my meeting with the teachers bye bye!"

Daniel:"She left as quickly as she arrived, typical Rosalia."

"Should we get going?" Jasmine interrupted.

Daniel:"Yeah."

Walking to the meeting room, this was the first time these two had seen each other or talk inside school grounds.

Daniel: "Brilliant performance I must say."

Jasmine:"?"

Daniel:"How you went from complaining about your classmates to suddenly turning a 180 when Rosalia showed up, that really impresses me."

Jasmine:"Oh that, well that's just......." Jasmine stopped, her eyes for probably the first time in forever lit up.

Why did I complain in front of him, I usually don't say that in front of anyone but myself so why?

Chris: "Yo! You there? We're gonna be late for the committee meeting."

Daniel: "Oh sorry about that let's get going."

Opening the door to the meeting room a few students from other classes were already there, some underclassmen as well.

(That's rare I don't recognise anyone here. Everyone here must be a loner of some sort to be put here or got sabotaged by their friends. I feel for you guys.)

"Please take your seats." A teacher entered and everyone quickly shuffled to their seats.

"Alright welcome to the student festival committee, I'm the facilitator."

"I'm the student council president Chris."

Chris: "First of we need to choose a president of the committee are there any volunteers?"

The whole room goes silent as people start whispering, looking away in an attempt to try and avoid being called.

Sigh... this is exactly the kinds of situations I hate to be in.

Chris: "How about you Sai?"

Sai:"Ehh! Me nahhh I can't do it, I'm honestly pretty bad at these kinds of things."

Daniel: "Sai from class 2-E..." Reading off the name cards on the table, Daniel observed her body language.

(Pfft, she's your typical popular girl, pretty, bossy and the fakest people in the world.)

Sai:"Alright alright if no one wants to do it, I will I guess. Sai smiles and raises her hand to accept the role.

Chris:" Alright then with that let's start the committee meeting."

2 hours later.

That was horrible, the discussion went on for way too long and Sai was as expected your typical popular high school girl. Not to mention the role i got "Student ambassador" in charge of communicating between class and committee huh? Most chances for awkward social interactions. What a drag! I have to get so much done before the next meeting that last for 3 hours next.

Jasmine: "You're still here?"

Daniel: "Oh hi Jasmine. What role did you get?"

Jasmine:"Executive committee planner"

Daniel:"Woah that's a huge role, not to mention all the things you have to organise before the next meeting."

Jasmine:"It's no big deal, I wouldn't mind.''

Daniel:"Someone's hardworking huh?"

Jasmine:"It's nothing, I simply just need to finish it with efficiency."

Simple? I don't think that's very simple. I thought to myself

Jasmine: "Anyways wanna head home?"

Daniel: "Oh? Sure we take the same bus right?"

Jasmine: "Of course we live next to each other."

Daniel: "Well there are different buses to take home."

Jasmine:"That's true well...."

"I just moved in, it would be better to follow someone who knows better. You should use your brain sometimes for other things too, rather than just for ranting about school."

Daniel: "Cruel as usual aren't you?" smiling as we walked to the bus stop.

This is bad, at least I probably will have some entertainment, why is life so cruel to so many?
