Feels like Forever (1)

Minutes after they ate, Fei Zuo who was seated on the grass let out a small burp as he pats his stomach, with the amout of what he ate earlier you could see his bright eyes and huge smile that he was satisfied " That was the best food I've eaten in my entire life!" Fei Wanrou who was seated behind her little brother let out a chuckle and said " Don't worry, in the future you'll have tons of those and not only that, you will have to taste different cuisines!" hearing that Fei Zuo who still can't get over of what he ate earlier was awakened when he heard "you will have to taste different cuisines" and with that he look at his elder sister excitedly

"Really? I couldn't wait! " Fei Zuo eyes shined brightly as he gazed through his sister's eyes "Zou'er come here!" a tall man stood in front of them as he softly wave his hands gesturing for Fei Zuo to come " Father!!" quickly ran and then tightly hug his father's thigh who was like a giant in his eyes

"Father, Why are you here?" he ask with a confused expression "Well, don't you think you have forgotten something?" looking like a doting father, Fei Zhen lightly pats his son's head and with that Fei Zuo's cheeks flushed red as he receives his father's affection "Well.." feeling flustered, Fei Zuo ask himself if he really forgotten something which unconsciously made him more adorable.

"Look at you, you're all now dirty lets go home now so that you can freshen up and sleep. A growing child needs more sleep" his father reminded as he pick him up with his embrace, then looks at Fei Wanrou who was . Fei Wanrou noddded in response as she stared at her father's fleeting back.

When her father and brother's figures vanished, she turned around to be greeted by someone

"What a lovely family you have" the coachman praised as he look at the direction where her father and brother left. Fei Wanrou didn't talk but stared directly at the man. Sensing her stares the man swept his gaze to the petite young girl and smiled " You should protect this precious family of yours " Fei Wanrou stood as her heart starts to beat quicker , confused why is he telling her about that "What do you mean?"

"Nothing..Its just that this kind of family most likely end up being destroyed" the coachman sighed as he eyed the young girl one last time then left.. Feeling weird, she shrugged in response and kept his words in her mind.

The day ended up pretty quickly as the sorroundings slowly darkened. One by one, the villagers let out some lanterns that provided light in the village.

Fei Wanrou decided to hurry and left before it became completely dark.

The villagers also started to wrap their things up while others are going back to their homes.

Fei Wanrou walked silently as the cold breeze engulfed her slim body, her hair swaying, her snow white skin and malnourished face that was illuminated by the moon. The feeling of getting shivers down her spine somehow made her relax.. The area was awfully quiet making even smallest sounds stand out.

Hearing the leaves crisps as her feet stepped on them made her close her eyes for a little while and let the darkness take over her when suddenly

*crisp* *crisp* *crisp*

She opened her eyes immediately as she heard some crisp of leaves in the woods, being unable to see who was out there made her alert.

She immediately ran behind a tree for her to take cover but because of that the person who was around the area also heard the sound she made. Fei Wanrou couldn't help but curse. The unknown man shouted "Who's there?!" the man directed the lantern towards her direction

Fei Wanrou didn't move as she tried to hold her breath but the unknown person walked closer and closer. Fei Wanrou felt her heart beat faster, cold sweat trickling down her temples, she could barely breathe... anxious, afraid, confused....

" I know you're there" the man said. His voice, destroying the stillness of the night. Fei Wanrou felt it, hairs on theback of her head started to stand, she felt like the man was staring at her, directly at her, even though the large tree was between them, she felt him smile, coyly, as if teasing her "Don't be afraid, I won't you hurt you", she heard her lips smack together, as if he was wetting his dry lips with his tongue. His voice was low, raspy, cold... Again, Fei Wanrou heard the cracking of the dry leaves, and as the sound got nearer, everything around her seemed to stand still, she couldnt breathe, her hands were shaking uncontrollably, her heart was beating as if it was gonna go out of her chest... She was afraid.. Dread filled her when the sound stopped, her world stopped..

A loud clang was heard as the metal sword went against the tree's bark. The man with low raspy voice has struck behind the tree.. The tree a few meters away from where Fei Wanrou was hiding... A soft purr can be heard as the startled cat quickly ran towards the forest... and the man went after it, went away from where Fei Wanrou was hiding. She suddenly felt drained, the tears stopped flowing, her hands still shaking, her feet wobbly.. Unable to walk.

"F*ck this, I will hunt you and its a good timing that I didn't have my dinner yet" she heard the man cursed as he went deeper into the forest.

When the man finally vanished, Fei Wanrou felt as if her lungs has been taken away from her while her whole body was shaking in fear. There are so many questions ran through her mind that What if she didn't hold her breath that what if she can't hold herself up a little longer, what if the man didn't pick the wrong tree and so many more but then she took a long breath when she finally ran towards the huts direction to be greeted by her younger brother that was waiting for her in the door

"Sister! Your finally here!" her brother smiled sweetly as he hold his sisters trembling hands, Fei Zuo frowned at her sister's pale looking face. He was about to ask her when a loud sound was heard in the sky.

Fei Wanrou and her little brother looks up to see a bright light flashing through the darkness. Fei Zuo who was still a child couldn't help but admire the flashing light through the sky "Wow, sister did you see that?" Fei Zuo swept his gaze to her sister that turned even more pale as if she realized something. Fei Wanrou stood a few minutes, taking a few deep breaths then finally spoke. Looking at her young brother, she slowly kneeled in the floor as they stood in the same height and whispered "No matter what happens, sister will save you. "
