Episode 12

Claire tossed away the blood soaked pendant. The winning trumpet broke the awkward silence. The officials from the brunette's clan were staring at their precious lady's corpse.

A satisfactory smirk was printed at Zen's face. Claire was climbing the stairs towards the Luna's crown.

But an unrelenting groundhog day was awaiting that no one fathomed.

"You people killed her!" suddenly the official cried out.

Claire stopped. His outraged scream drew back everyone's attention.

"You.Killed.Her," he said with fury while looking at Claire.

"She asked for it," Claire replied. She was calm and composed than before. "Actually, no. You asked for it. You refused the proposal."

Claire came down again and stood in front of him. "Was it you who planned it? " she asked him mysteriously.

The guy became unprepared for a moment. He quickly collected himself and said, " What are you trying to imply? " the guy asked again.

"Enough of this !" Zen spoke up. " Claire won the conclave fair and square. We are sorry for your loss. But you brought this upon yourselves."

Zen gave that man a calm yet very cold glare that sent chills down his body.

"And now! It’s the moment," Zen raised his voice again and turned everyone's attention to him and continued, "It's for what we had been waiting for all these years. The wolf spirit that the mystic spring seeks is here, among us."

He paused for a moment and took a glance at me, then his eyes found Claire and he said again, "Now we have the most fitting vessel for that wolf too. You people may wonder what is making us wait?"

A chill went down my spine. I knew what he was saying. My body was going in a hypothermic state. My palm was cold as ice.

"But our oracle can't predict the accurate time for opening of the moon fountains. In the past we didn’t look for Ella's wolf because we didn’t know about her wolf being an alpha. But the oracle was right. Her predictions were true. Ella's wolf is an alpha that is the key to that spring of power and reign. The spring rejected all the female alphas till now. We never assumed a breed can be a alpha as well. And maybe we would have given up till now if the oracle hadn’t told us about her perception," Zen said. He looked at me and smirked.

"But Ella's body is definitely not the type that we can use for the ritual. To control a strong wolf like hers, we need a strong body as well. If we merge Isabella and Claire's wolf together, there will be. 001% possibility of rejection by the spring. And Claire sure proved her worth today. We need Claire's body to be the vessel," The oracle explained the rest.

"Get off my face you donut ! They are talking about my wife! " Finally Ed got the chance to open his mouth.

The bull sized guy was struggling to shut his mouth again. Edward bit his hand when he tried to cover Ed's mouth.

"Let go off him," Zen ordered.

"Your arm tastes worst than bricks," Ed spitted and looked at the guy in awe who was sending him death glares in return while rubbing his bitten area.

I couldn’t keep myself in control. I jumped into him and hugged him crying.

"People are not here for a Romeo Juliet movie," Zen said.

"Why not? They are already watching a Ghengis Khan one," Ed replied.

"You have got a daring mouth. Do you know what position you're exactly in right now?" Zen asked.

"If you don't want a sarcastic answer then don't ask," Ed replied.

"You know if you ran like your mouth, you would be mutilated, fed by the dogs and turned into shit," Zen said coldly. "Do you realise your position now?"

"No need to make it gross. I ignored your question fine first time," Ed replied back.

Zen didn’t know what to say. Cat got his tongue. The whole arena was shocked. The guards got confused.

"We need to run Ed," I whispered. "I can't run too fast, so we have to hide," Ed only nodded and squeezed my shoulders.

"Guess what? I would love to fuck off, with my wife. You wait here," Ed replied.

He tried to get away from there with me. We tried to use the milliseconds that the arena needed to proceed what was happening. I didn’t know if I could turn anymore. My wolf had stopped connecting with me a long time ago.

But before I could turn Zen already felt what I was thinking.

"Get them!" he ordered sharply.

The guards came back to their senses. Before we could make a run, a huge wolf pinned me down on the ground. Edward was caught by the guards as well.

"Put the girl in chains, and kill the guy," Zen ordered.

"No! " I screamed. "You can't do this! Just put a finger on Edward and you will not even get my ashes," I warned Zen.

"Like hell you will get fire for that," Zen replied.

He took Claire's hand and lead her towards the throne. The arena was cheering again, they were excited, the oracle began the rituals already for taking out my wolf from my body.

I didn’t see Alex anywhere. Suddenly the whole chaotic situation was paused by the sounds of war drums coming towards our pack.

Everyone got silent. Confusedly they were looking at each other. It was a war break. No way the Sapphire's were breaking the rules again.

Zen was looking at the direction confusedly. The sound was getting closer and closer.

"Where is the guy from the Dead Alpha female's pack? " he shouted and asked.

The corpse of the brunette was gone, so were the officials who came with her.

They took the chance to run away when Zen was distracted with us.

The army was getting closer and now they were visible in the moonlight. First it looked like fogs. Then when it came closer, it was actually an army of more than ten thousands. Our alliance was broken. All the allied packs had left. Only the visitors from a few non fighter clans were still at the arena. They also started to run away wherever they could. The rest was from our clan.

Our pack had thousand wolves hardly. About eight hundreds of them were fighters. With the allied clans it was more than twenty thousands. But the alliances had now started a war against us.

"I can't believe they broke the alliance and now attacking us," Zen murmured.

I was thinking quickly. There was no way our pack would survive this attack. They were getting closer. We had no time left. I believed the Sapphires still didn’t know about this. If they had known they would use the advantage.

'' You shouldn’t have killed her," the oracle looked at Claire and said.

" What?" Claire laughed a bit. " You think they are breaking the alliance over a loser's body? Are you blind? Can't you see? They wanted this. They planned it. They killed their princess to take a lead on us," Claire said.

She looked at Zen. "It's you against whom they are rebelling. They want a new war commander," she said.

"We have to do something, Clair," Zen replied calmly. "We can't wait for them to come here and kill us," Zen said.

"I can help you out of this," I finally spoke.

All of their gazes turned to me in surprise.
