Episode 6

As usual, Lilia stood at the school entrance already, waiting for Aims' arrival. As soon as she alighted, Lilia hugged her and asked

How was your weekend dear? Hope dad is not disturbed with what happened at the garden the last time?

Aims replied, No dear, everything is fine at home

Dad is already in the farm , busy as always.

But hey, how is the family doing ? Is mum gone ?

Lilia: No dear, she got things to do here so she is going to stay a little longer but hey u got to help me out with something.

Aims: you crazy girl , what are you up to this time? I know you when you start sounding like this.

Lilia shyly , you know, I told you about my crush on Mart, hummm. ..

I want you to help me propose to him.

What!? tell me you are just joking

No am not Aims, am serious here.

She held her hand, begging. She didn't know what to do but she was her best friend so she couldn't let her down.

OK dear, tell me what can I do for you?

She happily hug Aims, yes! ohk so ...

The bell suddenly rang.

oh shit

ohk will tell you what to do later but hey thanks. Let go before Miss. Precious comes around,

you know what it means right?

They both giggled and set off to their class.

They met Mart at the entrance about to enter the class.

Aims: hey Mart!. .

Lilia froze instantly , blushing.

Mart: hi, Aims and Li, how are you?

They got to the entrance and Aims pinch Lilia from her day dream.

Ouch .... she shout, Aims what is that for?

why did you pinch me so hard?

Aims turned to Mart and answered, fine Mart and you?

Never mind, Lilia , Let get in before our teacher comes in to meet us here..

They all smiled and settled in their desk respectively.

Lilia turned to Aims and said ,

Aims don't forget, I will get back at you for the pinch.., that was so embarrassing.

Aims looked back at her teasingly and settled in her desk.

Their teacher soon arrived and the class went silent .

In an hour time, the bell rang for lunch break.

Teacher: class is over but don't forget next week is cultural heritage so from tomorrow, you will be divided into groups to prepare. bye.

Everyone became happy with this announcement and started jumping all over the class.

Cultural heritage is one of our annual school programs, where we dress in our various traditional attire, perform and exhibit our various cultural values like, dance, traditions etc.

There is going to be activities like ,poetry recitals,

drama and dance.

Is so much fun to witness these activities. I can't wait to be part of this next week, said Aims.

Suddenly , Lilia came pulling her out of the class happily.

Aims, you promised to help me out with my proposal.

Yeah, yeah , I did but take your time. What is the rush for?

Soon they got to the Canteen and sat down on one empty table.

Lilia ,so what is your plan?

OK, so this is what you do

Tell Mart to come to volleyball court after school.

And then give this card to him.

I will take it from there

Aims: Is that all you need?

yeah, she nods

Okay dear, I will do it for you but you owe me an ice cream for that.

Aims teasingly held her cheeks .

Let eat now am starving.

After eating , they went back to their class.

Aimscious went to Mart on his desk, gave the card to him and went back to her desk.

What is this ? , he cried out

I don't know, someone ask me to give it so you. And hey, I nearly forgot, please kindly excort me to the volleyball court after class , will you?

He happily respond , yeah I will dear.

Aims didn't know why he was so happy about that but became glade , at least he made he made her work so simple.

Soon school was over, Aims went to Mart who was packing his stuff into his bag.

Aims: Mart , shall we?

Yeah, he quickly replied.

She turned to Li who was watching her and blinked. Lilia quickly went out.

Mart followed Aims to the volleyball court. When they got to the entrance , she asked him to take the lead while she excused herself.

VOLLEYBALL COURT

Aims stood in one corner of the court, watching him. He stood at the middle of the court confused. Suddenly Aims saw Li approaching him with a parcel. She watched them quietly.

Lilia shyly: hi Mart, am glad you came.

Mart confusedly: hi, but I don't understand anything now?

It was Aims who asked me to escort her here so how come you are here.?

Lilia: yeah , I asked her to bring you here.

I just want to express my feeling towards you.

I ... love... you ... Mart.

The court was suddenly silent for sometime. Mart slowly broke the silence

Mart shocked and surprised, I understand how you feel Li. But am sorry to tell you this,

I don't feel the same way you do towards me. I only take you as a friend and a sister..

Its Aims I love , Li, not you.

With shock, Aims quickly dashed out of the court and joined her siblings to for the bus. Lost in thought of what she just heard and witnessed;

She never knew that all along Mart had a crush on her. She now understood why he was so happy to accompany her to the court.
