Episode 9

Sophia' POV

Earlier after getting home I had tried calling Nadia but for some reason she hadn't picked up, causing me to worry since it was so rare when she wouldn't pick up the phone when the girls or me called.

Maybe she's seriously hurt from that incident with the wolf then I suddenly shake my head thinking that couldn't possibly be it she would have said something right?

She might just need some time alone honestly I can't even remember the last time she took a break off school or hanging out after what happened, she even stayed with me all night after school guarding me from outside although, I didn't mention that I knew that though. I only knew from one of the nurses who brought in some stuff I liked and asking how she got it saying she got it from the foreign looking girl who sits outside the door every night, precisely saying "Our manager allowed it without a hint of disagreement she must be an important part of the hospital".

After that incident she hardly mentioned staying up so late during those nights nor did she ever get a break because she got busy when Cristian and Jimmy arrived and she would actually join us each time we went out since the boys would nag for her to come causing me to get curious since she usually ignored nagging but maybe they had something on her that we just didn't know about, eventually I begin to get annoyed by my own thoughts and decide to take a nap , maybe she would call back later.

By the time I woke up it was late in the afternoon and had decided to check the time as I did so I suddenly got an unknown call making me a bit nervous and waited a while before picking up saying in a quiet voice " Hello..?"

A familiar voice replied "Hey? Is this Sophia?" making me reply quickly

"Yeah, Cristian? How did you get my number-" as he cut in quickly saying

"I wanted to talk to you about something. Can we meet up?".

I shake my head from my daze over hearing his voice on the phone and replied.

"Oh sure, Where should we meet? Do you mind picking me up I can't drive yet..."

After that he replied with a quick sure and told me to wait 20 minutes then hung up quickly before I could ask if he needed my address so I sent him my address when he suddenly replied on text.

"I know." making my heart skip a beat.

After getting excited to have Cristian's sudden call I shook my head and got up in a hurry to find something good to wear, after about 15 minutes of searching I had decided to wear a white mini skirt with a cotton crop top and my favorite grey knit sweater . I threw on my outfit then grabbed my bag pulling it over my shoulder as my phone buzzed in my pocket causing me to grab it to see Cristian' text saying "I'm outside",

I smiled then shoved the phone back in my pocket heading downstairs to the kitchen. I see my mom cooking lunch and smile saying "Hey ma, I'm heading out to a friends house for a while I'll be back for dinner I promise." after that she only nods when a car horn honks making her laugh and telling me to go. I quickly head out the house slamming the door behind me limping to a familiar jeep and getting into the front seat I finally notice it as Nadia' vehicle and ask him,

"Why are you using Nadia's jeep?" when I really wanted to ask if he was with her before he came for me, suddenly he interrupts my thoughts replying to my question

"I just came from her place, her father has done something that she blew up over so I went to comfort her for a while and decided to take her back home from where she ran away to and she asked me to pick you up so she can speak with you"

"Oh so she's your master now .." I say under my breath unconsciously then bite my tongue. he then starts to laugh and says

"It isn't like that, her controlling me is a huge no. I just felt she uh really needed the comfort anyways every time I speak about her you get kind of bitter, is there a reason for that?"

I didn't know how else to reply then say " I guess I am just worked up over something with her but that doesn't mean I don't still love her, she's everything to me... she saved my life and took care of me while I was out of it in the hospital I have nothing but gratitude towards her it's just I wish I could do something more for her'.

"Just because she's an immortal doesn't mean she doesn't have desires for the little things in life, she is a girl maybe not an ordinary one but a semi-living one. Show her you're grateful instead of making a lot of bitter response that could deeply bother her at one point'. he said in a cold tone.

After that we didn't speak to each other, he seemed mad at my rude remarks from these past few days now I feel pretty guilty. I wonder what went down at Nadia's I wonder if she got into trouble because of me... I sure hope that isn't the case.

We finally made it over to Nadia's place by the time we made it she was already walking outside I assume she spoke to Christian before hand telepathically. We stopped and parked in front of the house then Christian got out of the jeep first all the while Nadia stepped in and opened my door helping me out carefully.

"Hey Sophia I'm glad you could make it, I would've gone to pick you up but I had something to deal with here, well anyways I'm so glad you came I have something to discuss with you let's get inside first yeah?"

I bit my lip and nodded smiling and replying "Sure!" then she led us inside holding my arm helping me walk without hurting my foot.

Cristian' POV

We end up sitting down in the living room so I sit next to Nadia and let Sophia sit next to my brother since she clearly seems to loath me. As I did so she stared hard like she wanted to say something but Nadia cut in on time.

"So Sophia my father is having some trouble latelyand he's having me help him in some of his work. I'm being taken out of school and being home schooled so I can manage the duties he gave me and my school work together." Nadia says biting her lip I put my hand on her shoulder gently. Sophia then replies with a bit of anger,

"What that is ridiculous you shouldn't be taken out for adult responsibilities you're just a-"

"Sophia I am not human so before you say that word think clearly not with your emotions please" Nadia says with a frustrated but calm tone. After that Sophia looked down at her hands starting to fidget with them, and after a while she sighed deeply asking

"Who will be around in your stead knowing how you are, you've already chosen someone to protect us from anyone or anything and someone truly trustworthy".

Nadia smirks then looks at me and grabs my hand fixing my pointer finger to point outward and pushes it at me.

"I will leave Cristian and his darling brother to stay at your side till I can do it myself ".

I quickly respond "What? Nadia we never agreed to this!" She looks at me with a pouty face

"None of my members would ever protect humans come on please I will owe you so whenever you want something I will give it back in return for each day I must have you protecting them". I laugh and pinch her cheek but I cause a crack in her skin letting go.

"My bad, alright I will do it but one condition" I then turn to her and whisper in her ear.

Nadia then nods her head sighing "Alright I understand I agree to your condition", when Sophia sees her expression she gets curious.

Sophia asks, "What is the condition?" with a strange look on her face.

Nadia sighs then looks at Sophia sternly "Inform the rest of the girls please I have to travel abroad by 8 tonight for some hospital business" ,then she got up and went upstairs cuing for me to take Sophia home.

"Lets take you home I'm sure she isn't the only one tired after today" I say smiling and helping her up when she quickly pulls away and uses both her legs to walk upstairs quickly and angrily.

"We aren't finished talking Nadia come back out here an-" she suddenly is cut off as she falls back after a misstep on the stairs falling back too suddenly for my reflexes. Then in an instant Nadia is there grabbing hold on her and unable to land properly becoming her cushion as they fall. I quickly run to them in panic with my brother.

"Nadia! Are you hurt?" I say in a quick tone but she only lifts Sophia off her and tells me to take her home immediately. I respond hastily

"No! You come first this time." then she glares and snarls

"Stop being a mutt and take her now!" she says angrily.

I only nod picking up Sophia bridal style and taking her out the house and putting her in the front seat quickly getting in and heading on our way.

Nadia' POV

After I know they are far distanced I instantly let out a scream of agony as I try to stand unable to hide the pain in my wounds causing Jimmy to rush to my side and help me gently as I cough up blood. Jimmy says,

"Why do you hurt yourself for humans especially that one, if you keep doing this you won't survive for long" I only lightly chuckle wiping the blood away from my lips,

"Death must be more pleasant than this but as an immortal I don't die because dying means going on somewhere beyond this plain of existence in which our soulless body's cannot do, but thank you anyways" then he laughs along lifting me up in his arms carrying me to the couch and laying me down on my stomach.

"Let us resew those opened wounds again, sadly werewolf wounds don't heal like human inflicted wounds I'm sorry these were actually my doing" he says gently making me smile crossing my arms under my neck.

"I can't forgive you just yet fix me first and I'll think about it, although what do you know about something like this?" he then chuckles lightly responding after grabbing everything and sitting beside me on the couch.

"We also get hurt but unlike you we do not have quick healing flesh we are only humans with wolves as our spirts that we can shift into after all." I nod responding gently,

"Right well anyways thank you I'm honored to see a gentle side beside that playboy act of yours" he only smiles and lifts my shirt up sighing and grabbing a cloth dunking it in a bowl of alcohol then wiping my back down softly to the point it felt soothing instead of burning. We stay silent enjoying the quiet humming of the forest outside, then he finally finishes my stiches as Cristian walks in quickly and sees us.

"You let my brother help you I don't know if I should be jealous or feel sorry" he says jokingly and comes to crouch beside me as Jimmy tells me to lay down for a while.

"I would say feel sorry but he was so gentle I almost swooned so instead you should be jealous for I might fall for this youngster" I say chuckling then I stop and ask for the time. Jimmy replies

"It is six nearly seven shall I pack your bags for your flight?" Jimmy asks I then nod responding

"Please I know both of you will jump me if I don't relax some way before I leave" so I lay still as possible while Cristian sits beside me on the floor .

I decide to make small talk and smirk as I say " So Cristian, I'm sure you can sense how Sophia feels toward you. I know you aren't that slow so why have you been sticking close to me making her misunderstand you? " , I feel him lightly chuckle as he replies with a sigh,

"So you caught on to that too huh seems she's the only one that's slow witted. If you really wish to know then, I don't feel anything towards her never have since we met."

I only listen to his heart as he says that since I cant see his whole reaction, then I notice a subtle hint of unsurity in his heart. "Gotcha" the little voice in my head says as I reply,

"I sure hope that while I'm gone I will hear a clear answer instead of your unsure one. " slowly I get up and stare down at him while he's gotten lost in thought.

I gently tap his shoulder as he stands obviously out of his thoughts and stares at me intensely.

" Actually the person I have felt something towards is-" I quickly cut him off

"Don't say anything, you will still feel unsure even if you say what you think you feel right now" I call for Jimmy to bring my luggage and he notices the atmosphere.

He scatches his head and clears his throat, "Everything alright between you two?" I only gently nod and smile.

"Of course, he just doesn't like the thought of babysitting a few teenage girls." Jimmy nods and sighs saying "Neither do I, please come back as soon as possible or even I may lose my head."

Cristian smirks and cuts in while he grabs his brothers neck playfully,

" Come on, how hard could it possibly be if even an Immortal can handle it huh?"

The poor soul doesn't even know what he's getting himself into, I gently pat both of their shoulders smiling "Keep that comment in mind while I'm away."

I quickly grab my luggage and head out front as my fathers personal assistant waits and takes my bags to put in the car while I say my goodbyes.

" This is a time for you both to find something you might have not seen as a possibility and Cristian, you can borrow my jeep while I'm away but make sure to not break her." I get into the back seat and wave them off as they stare at the car leaving.

Alright, seems it's time to get down to official business. I take out my phone and check the text from my father.

"If you want your friends alive, remember what you need to do for them to not notice we've been found out. This rests in your hands, please be safe."
