Episode 9

Jane's POV

Looking up, I saw a little girl in a pink dress coming down the stairs. She must be six or seven years old, her brownish hair was in a ponytail and her blue eyes were glowing of amusement as she smiled at me.

" Hello, my name is Nora, what is your name? " she introduced herself.

It took me a moment to process her presence, I'm sure I had never seen this girl before.

" Jane " I replied. Wow, this is awkward, she will think I'm probably a crazy person with no shirt on.

" Hi Jane" She said, then peeked behind me. " She is cute, isn't she Nik?"

I turned around to see who she was talking to and I instantly felt the warmth of the blush as it crawled up my cheeks.

A guy leaning against the door frame. he was in black sweatpants and a short sleeve t-shirt, the white material exposed the ink that started on his upper arm and spread to his chest, an eagle. I instantly grabbed my shirt and covered my chest.

His hair was adorably messed up, he owned broad shoulders, I bet he could carry the world on them. What brought my embarrassment to its maximum was the mischievous smirk he had across his rosy lips, and his ocean blue eyes staring intensively. Saying I felt like he was undressing me with his eyes would be an understatement.

like seriously, this man exodus a very intimidating aura and he is probably arrogant. I bet he forces his reflection upon every mirror he crosses paths with, forcing it to show his handsome features.

I looked away trying to ignore his presence and hide my embarrassed figure. I wished I could dig a hole and bury myself.

He sauntered towards me, making my pulse rise in a blink of an eye, and without stopping, he went straight upstairs leaving behind his clean fresh cologne ignoring my presence completely, I repeat completely like he didn't just see me shirtless. Talk about rude.

" Are you grandma's friend? " Nora asked. I almost forgot she was still here. grandma? I clearly remember that Granny only has a grandson, not a granddaughter.

" Something like that, she is more like family" I told her putting on my wet shirt.

" If Grandma is your family, that makes you my family too right? " she mumbled cheerfully.

Granny came down with ignorant asshole behind her and she wrapped a towel around me while hugging me. " You need to change " She informed, something I clearly had to do.

I tried by all means to avoid the guy's presence, and for some reason his eyes kept wandering all over me, making me feel uncomfortable. Was I participating in a staring contest that I was not aware of or what?

Luckily, unconsciously Granny came to rescue me." Darling you'll find the umbrella there" she said pointing behind the door.

"Nana" he called grabbing the umbrella " I won't take long and please don't give her sweets while I'm gone, she gets hyperactive " He teased pointing at the little girl that started giggling then walked out.

" Granny who was the guy that called you Nana" I asked to quench my curiosity after changing.

" Oh, you mean Niklaus? I forgot to introduce you guys. Nik is my grandson and this little Princess is his little sister " So he was the grandson from England that she always bragged about.

"His father is investing in few companies here, so they are going to be around for a while " She added obviously loving the fact that she will spend more time with them.

"So they will be living with you? " I asked grabbing one of the cookies they were eating.

" No, unfortunately, they already have their own place " She informed me with a glitch of sadness in her voice.

" Don't worry granny, I'll visit you every day" Nora whispered to Granny making me smile at how innocent and sweet she is, not like her brother.

I'm just glad I won't have to run into him every time I come here.

The next day went by extremely fast maybe because I had plans with mom. So I dressed up and went straight to her clinic to pick her up. We were trying to spend some time together.

I was so happy to spend time with her it has been a while since I felt this close to her.

" I heard that Annabelle is dating Luke " she stated.

" They are, luckily for us Luke tamed her. Since they started dating she doesn't speak as much, whenever he is around she just blushes and be all shy " I smiled and took a sip of my hot chocolate earning a gasp from her.

"And you? " She looked at me expectedly, I almost choked.

" What about me? " I tried to sound clueless.

" Do you have anyone that caught your attention " This topic was not one of my favorites.

" No mom, I don't intend to like anyone" I defensively informed her.

" And now you are getting all defensive did I hit a spot " She whispered.

" You just eager to get a son-in-law ain't you ?" I teased and we both laughed.

I woke up with Annabelle in my face, like literally in my face, almost giving me a heart attack.

" Someone is living the good life, I see! Sleeping till this time " she murmured and I hit her with a pillow.

" Creepy" I whined with a sleepy voice.

" Get up and get ready we're all just waiting for you Ms. princess "

" Where to? " Standing up I grabbed my tower and Ailee walked in eating a sandwich.

"Anna I told you to make her shower, to use force if the situation required " Ailee said giving me a playful smile.

" I'm on my way to shower young lady" I immediately went to clean up.

I decided to go for a white dress and brown sandals, I didn't know what to do with my hair so I decided to let the girls decide.

When I entered the kitchen I found Annabelle sitting on Luke's lap kissing each other.

" Ailee please inform these people that there are some sensitive single people around" Luke smirked ignoring my comment.

" We are going to travel to Swakopmund, we will be back tomorrow so ladies be ready " Luke announced enthusiastically.

" And you lady, you need to fix your hair" Annabelle stood up and came to me.

" At least let me eat before you do something about it, please "

After eating Annabelle took care of my messy hair. We decided to stop by a store and buy some snacks before we hit the road.

" I hate crowded places " Annabelle whined as we entered the store that for some reason had a lot of customers.

We all took what we wanted and made our way to the cashier.

"OUCH!!" I cried in pain.

" What? " Luke turned around to face me " what is wrong? he asked concerned.

" Someone just pulled my hair " I informed him looking behind me, but I couldn't see anyone.

Ailee caressed my head, an attempt to ease the pain " should we hunt that person down " She played.

" I think we should " Annabelle said in a serious tone we all stopped laughing and looked at her.

" Someone cut a strand of your hair" she said holding my hair. " this morning when I did your hair there was nothing like this.

" Why would someone do that " I asked shocked.

" let's pay this and get out of here before someone else gets a hair cut" Luke suggested and we did just that.

In the car, I looked at my hair and couldn't help to think that no one would intentionally do that, right? Maybe I'm overthinking this, can't let this spoil my precious weekend.
