Episode 12

AVYANNA'S POV

The whole of this afternoon, I have been out training with Rhysand, Hunter and the rest of the wolves. Today has been pretty intense, Hunter has not been easy on us but anyway we pulled through. I am in my office sorting out some paperwork before I had out for dinner and then sleep. I wonder what the elderly she wolves prepared today. I always get excited for meals because of their cooking, they are very good at their cooking.

For the past months here, I have grown to like the people here and vice versa. We have come to an understanding and compromise, I guess what I am trying to say is that we have finally met half way. I have made a couple of friends with willing she wolves, before it was just Marissa and I but now , I guess its now Avyanna and the three musketeers. Yes that's right , I have made two more friends, Summer and Winter, they are twins. Ironic right? They are twins and they have opposite names but I guess it suites them because they are two whole different characters. You will see what I mean soon.

As for the previous pack leaders, I can say things are good but it could be better. As usual Alrik is the friendly, bubbly and flirt self, who has grown on me and I on him. He has been quite a good friend to say the least. Then Brian and his mate, Mia have adopted to the situation a bit, they still can't stand being of lower rank especially Brian, Mia is just concentrating on her pups, she is also good acquaintance. I can't say she qualifies to be a friend just yet and for Brian he has grown a bit of a soft spot for me ever since he learnt about the reason behind my bitterness and vengeful demeanor, although he begs to differ on how him and everyone else had to be involved in this "love crisis" as he calls it. However, all in all we have been doing good here.

"Avy?" There is a visitor for you." Says Winter as she walks into my office.

"Really, I did not expect a visitor. Tell them I will come after five minutes, I just need to finish off here." I respond.

"He said he wants to talk to you now, its urgent." She says to me with pleading eyes. Wow, I wonder who this person really is.

"He?" I ask as I raise an eyebrow.

"Yes, I think its best you come see for yourself."

I sigh as I pinch the bridge of my nose. What is up with all this mystery.

"Okay, lead me to him."

I walk down my hallway, in the direction of my lounge area. I take a left and follow Winter down the hallway. She was a bit edgy and walk with urgency. She looked like she was going to shit bricks if she continues like this. As we get closer to the lounge, I hear two voices of males arguing. It sounded pretty serious and heated to the extent that I picked up my pace a bit faster to see who it was.

When I enter , I see how there is everyone here Hunter, Marissa, Summer and the previous Alphas. When my head lands to the center of the room, Alas! To my surprise in my lounge there was the one and only Alpha King Aedion who was challenging Rhysand. Both men were on the verge of ripping each other's throats. I could see both of their monsters, were out as their eyes glowed a bright yellow. Looking at Aedion, I was caught in a state of awe. He looked so sexy when he was angry and territorial. His hair was a sexy mess that made me want to run my fingers through his hair. His neck and hands had visible thick veins that just made him extra attractive, than when he is calm.

A shatter of glass, broke my mesmerized state and got me back to reality. I run over to the both of them and stand in the middle as I shout"Stop!!"

Silence fills the room, which only has noises of harsh breathing. I face Aedion and glare at him.

"What in the world is your purpose here at my pack?" I ask him.

"Are you forgetting I am the Alpha King? This place technically belongs to me and I can come and go as I please." He says as he smirks at me.

I lowly growl at him.

"State your purpose now." I have noticed the other half of our audience is his beta and some of his warriors.

"I would like to talk to you in private." He says the last part as he glares at Rhysand.

"No, you will not. I will not leave her alone with a monster like you, even for a second." Declares Rhysand.

I place my hand on his and whisper to him" its okay, the sooner I talk to him, the earlier he leaves."

Rhysand looks at me as he mentally debates with himself and then reluctantly nods as he gives me a kiss on the forehead and leaves. In which everyone else follows the lead.

A low growl emits from Aedion. I look at him.

"Really, you are now acting territorial, what a hypocrite. Now talk , what do you want?" I say as I pour myself a glass of whiskey.

"Might I remind you that you are speaking to the Alpha King, so I suggest you torn it down a little and show respect." He demands as his patience is slowly running thin.

I stare at him and roll my eyes.

He sighs and talks

"I have a proposition I want you to come with me on a short trip."

I open my eyes.

"For what and why?"

"He scratches the back of his neck as he utters the next words " To look for a witch that can break the bond between us."

My whole mood just drops from a hundred to zero. I'm destroyed. Well I mean, this Alpha King has always been a jerk but that does not mean I was never affected by his actions towards me. He could reject me , humiliate me and all other things but breaking a bond? He must really been disappointed with the Moon Goddess' choice of his soulmate.

However, in this very moment I keep a blank expression and ask him "Do you know who to look for or what to do for this " mission" of yours?" I question him trying to keep a straight face. Bit I swear to the moon goddess my heart is already in pieces. I don't know why but I feel hurt about this whole situation even though I should not be, I mean come on, this idiot has been a nightmare in my life for sometime now. Well, I guess this is what they mean when they say love is blind.

"Yes, I have everything. I just wanted you to know because you are coming with me."

"And why is that?" I ask as I stand and look out the window, watching the sunset.

"Because, it takes two to break a bond." He nonchalantly shrugs.

I sigh.

"Okay, I will go with you. We leave at dawn and I will tell one of the house help to show you your guest room." I quickly state as I stare at his reflection in the window.

"But I have one question." I say as I turn around and look at him straight in the eyes.

"I'm waiting." He responses.

"Do you really hate me that much?" I blurt out.

He looks at me for a while and then silently looks away without responding. I guess, I got my answer. I then leave the room. Now I know him and this mate ship is a lost cause. I have always wanted to follow my heart and want to be with him low key. But I can't force anything, if that is what Aedion wants , then he shall get. I have dignity. After all, my grandpa has always said that follow your heart but take your brain with you.

"Woah, Woah, Woah, Woah, wait. Is that even possible Avy?" Summer asks me.

"I don't know , he seemed persistent about it, so maybe it can happen." I said as I shrug. I am sitted in my bedroom, right now, with Winter, Summer and Marissa. I vented out my feelings to them after they continually pestered me why I was crying in my room after talking to the Alpha King. They could not let it go and kept on asking and they were quite adamant about not leaving until , they get answers.

"Oh I'm so sorry Avy." Marissa sympathizes with me as she gives me a hug.

"He is such a butthole, well I know he was cruel but not to this extent. So what now , did you agree?"

I look at her and nod.

"What, why do this to yourself?" Winter, jumps into the conversation.

"Its for the best, I won't force it. What is meant for me will stay, and what is not will go. It can gladly leave my life."

They all remain quiet as they nod in agreement.

"Well okay, you are right. After all you have that hottie that is always around you, what's his name again? Oh yeah, Rhysand." Summer states as she wiggles her eyebrows, with a wide grin all over her face.

"No,no don't get that idea , he is my friend only and besides after this whole disappointment. I have decided to stay away from love for sometime. I guess Rhysand has to wait." I quickly start to defend myself from that assumption.

"Mmmm, we shall see." Marissa replies as the rest of the girls laugh.

"Seems like sleeping beauty has finally decided to join us." I say as Aedion walks to the front porch, where everyone else is standing to bid us farewell for this unexpected trip.

"More like sleeping beast." He corrects. I roll eyes and turn to hug my girls and give them a goodbye message. I then move on to Hunter and Rhysand who I explained to ,the whole situation last night and were very reluctant to let me go alone. After some convincing they finally agreed, which brings to our current situation right now. Rhysand takes my bag and puts it in the SUV that I'm sure belonged to Aedion.

From the corner of my eye, I see him talk to a man who I assume is his beta. Probably he would be left in charge of his kingdom. As for me, I have Hunter and Rhysand for that, hence no worries.

I walk to the car to claim my place in the passenger sit as Aedion does the same in the driver's seat.

"Avy" Alrik calls my name as he pants probably from running. The silly guy is always never on time.

"You cannot leave without saying goodbye, can you?" He slyly states with a playful smile on his face.

I roll my eyes and walk over to him to hug him. As I was walking, a rough hand pulls mine and prevents me from approaching Alrik.

"Do not touch her." Aedion protests.

I shrug his hand away and raise an eyebrow at him.

"Please don't you ever do that again, I am not yours and you are not mine, therefore you do not have a right to tell me who to hug or not to hug."

He glares at me and turns around to go to the driver's sit whilst grumbling under his breath.

I face Alrik and mouth a "sorry" to him. I get into the passenger sit and wave to my companions, one last time as the ignition comes to life and we drive away to possibly the new chapter of my life.
