Episode 10

OMG! I stared at the huge house, mansion, castle....whatever. Liam kinda stopped at the huge wrought iron gate. He sat there on the bike, still as a statue. I looked around and back at him. Now what the hell is happening?Just then, he kinda revved up the engine. Liam just drove in and there were many luxury cars parked at the gravel lawn. I hopped off the bike and stared at the huge canopies and people in pretty cocktail dresses and sports jackets milling around drinking champagnes and eating canapes or whatever those tiny dainty looking delicious things were in the trays brought by the many servers. I hesitated. Liam took off his helmet and took mine as well. Then he took my hand and pulled me along with him.

I followed Liam and looked around the beautifully manicured lawn. There were many, many rich -looking people around, it kinda unnerved me. I was consciously aware that I was severely under-dressed.

Liam entered the huge house through the huge entrance. I looked at the interior of the house/mansion/castle and gaped. Luxurious is seriously undermining it. Liam's family is definitely loaded. Just then, we entered a large sunny room. All the doors and windows were open. There were books lining the walls and some quirky looking paintings dotted the creamy walls. Liam gestured for me to follow him. We ealked through the open door and was greeted with a few richly-dressed guests. It was the same scene as before. Then I saw the huge pool and some kids were swimming in it. Liam walked to a blond middle-aged woman who was talking to a group of similar aged women. He greeted her and she seemed very pleased to see him. Very, very pleased. She was hugging him pretty tight. And wait, was she crying?! I walked over slowly. I caught Liam's eyes and he looked somewhat embarrassed.

"Oh my God! You came! I can't believe it! My baby's home!" Liam's mother cried and hugged him tight. i just watched the scene before me, a little curious about what's happening in front of me. Liam hugged her tightly with his eyes closed. I could see that he missed her too. I felt like an intruder witnessing such an intimate scene.

"Happy birthday Mum. Here, I got this for you." Liam said as he handed her the pretty gift bag with the scarf in it. She took it with a huge smile on her face. She looked into the bag and pulled out the gorgeous scarf. She looked at it in awe and quickly wrapped it loosely around her neck. The scarf matched her tan outfit perfectly. She cupped Liam's face and kissed him smack on the lips. Liam struggled free and said "Aww, mum!" He sounded annoyed but I know he liked it.

"It's gorgeous. I love it! Thanks honey!" She said happily as he held her by the shoulder. He smiled down at her. I thought they looked sweet. Made me miss my Mom.

"How've you been? God, I miss you so much! You look thinner..Have you been eating-?!" Liam's mom was about to get hysterical. Liam gestured me to come closer and I did. He took my hand and pulled me beside him, in front of his mom, who immediately stopped talking when her gaze fell on me. I walked timidly to her, Liam's hand on my arm. I smiled at her shyly.

"Mom, this is Hannah. Hannah, my mom." Liam made the introduction. I smiled and held out my hand to shake hers, but she grabbed me and hugged me. Tight. I hugged her back and was instantly comfortable with her.

"Hi, so you're his girlfriend. You're very pretty!" His mom said as she put her arm around my shoulder.

"Mom, she's not my girlfriend. We're just friends." Liam said, shooting an apologetic look at me. I just smiled.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Here, have you had something eat? Liam, go bring Hannah to the buffet. Both of you get something to eat first, ok." Mrs Henessy said as she smiled. Just then, somebody she knew came to her and she went to greet them. Liam pushed me gently to the direction if the buffett table.

My eyes widen at the huge selection of food. Liam gave me a plate and took one for himself. Since we weren't that hungry, we just took some tiny canapes and I took a tiny square of cheesecake. Just as we were about to eat, a young guy came over. Liam perked up.

"Hey, man! You back from the dead!" The guy said as they bro-hugged. I just stood there, smiling. Then he turned to me with a curious look on his face.

"Who's this? Cute..." The guy said with a flirty smile on his face. Liam put his arm around my shoulder, a little possesively I might add.

"This is Hannah. Hannah, this is my younger brother Sean." Liam said and Sean took my hand, and kissed it.

"Enchanted..." Sean said with a smirky smile.

"Hello." I said shyly. He didn't let go. Liam cleared his throat and pulled my hand out of Sean vise-like grip.

" Hey, come on. I thought you told mom she's not your girlfriend. Jealous, much?" Sean grumbled and I giggled at Sean's pouting face. Liam rolled his eyes as he held my hand in his and slapping Sean's creeping hands which were aiming for my arm. Seriously, Sean was shameless. I totally like him. He's fun.

"Err, did you see him?" Liam asked seriously all of a sudden.

"Nah, you know he doesn't do family stuff. Not his thing. Probably screwing some slut somewhere in the city. I couldn't care less. Why did you come back? Because of mum?" Sean asked, a little serious suddenly. Liam stiffened as he glanced at me. I looked at both Liam and Sean. I felt I was intruding.

"Um, I gotta get something to drink." I said as I stepped away. Once at the drinks section, I glanced at Liam and Sean who was talking seriously to each other.

"So, you know Liam?" A voice suddenly chimed behind me. I looked over my shoulder and saw 3 gorgeous girls standing behind me. I frowned and looked at them curiously.

"Um, yeah. We go to the same college." I said with a tiny smile. None of them smiled back. The prettiest one smirked.

"Oh, ok. I'm Madison. And Liam and I go way back. Our famies are old friends." Madison said as she looked at me. She suddenly fingered my top like she was disgusted by it.

"Um, nice top." Madison said, making the word nice sounds like the most disgusting word, ever. I decided to watch my back. This girl could bite, hard.

"Thanx! It's my favourite!" I answered happily, feigning ignorance. Madison and her minions looked at me and tried to keep from laughing. You think you're tough, beeyotch. You ain't seen nothing yet.

"Oh, honey, I'd skip the cheesecake if I were you. Don't need all that fatty cheese and sugar. I'm telling you this as a friend." Madison said patronizingly. I looked at her. Girls like her seemed fierce, but their confidence is as thin as onion skin. They are so easy to crack. And so much fun to mess with.

"Aww, so we're friends now. Well, in that case, as a friend, I want to tell you that you might need to rethink those eyebrows..they're kinda iffy..ooh, and that mole..wouldn't hurt to get that checked out. Well, your old friend Liam is calling me. He probably misses me already. Honestly, he is so possessive! Well,toodles! Nice meeting you!" I said cheerfully as I sashayed towards Liam and Sean who were talking. I smiled flirtatiously at Liam and he perked up, probably wondering what I was up to. I took his arm and pressed myself against him, our lips mere inches apart. He didn't even flinch and just looked at me. He looked a little amused but he hid it well.

"Your girlfriend Madison is looking over here. I hate that delusional person and am doing this to piss her off. Work with me ok?" I whispered against his lips. Liam smiled and pulled me close that our lower bodies melded to each other. He moved his head to my ears and spoke.

"Great. Pissing off Madison is my favourite sport." Liam said against my ear. I giggled. From a distance, it looked like Liam was nuzzling my ear. I looked over at Madison and I saw her go red in the face and looked like she wanted to storm over to us, but thought better of it. She just turned and marched out of the room with her two minions in tow.

When she was gone, I let go of Liam and pushed him away, giggling. Liam chuckled as he shook his head. Sean looked confused but he smiled anyways.

"Okay, what the heck was that?" Sean said in confusion. He looked from Liam to me, back and forth. Liam and I glanced at each other and said in unison, "Nothing!" And started laughing again. Sean rolled his eyes and slunk off, bored with our antics.

Just then, Liam grabbed my hand and pulled me with him urgently. I looked over my shoulder, trying to see what made Liam run away from there. I caught sight of a man who looked like Liam, except older and wearing a suit. I frowned. Is that his father?

Liam took me up the winding staircase. I followed him as my eyes took in the surrounding. It was bright and very airy. Liam took me to a door and opened it. We walked into the room and Liam closed the door. He exhaled and looked at me standing in front of him, wondering what the heck is happening. He hastily smiled and took off his leather jacket. And walked to the middle of the room. I just realized we were in a bedroom. I walked around slowly and looked around the room. It was huge, with a king sized bed in one corner, a walk-in-closet, some instruments, an overstuffed sofa, a study table, a flat screen and other stuff that I would never be able to afford. Even though it was huge, the room was cozy. I went to the bay window and looked down. People were still downstairs enjoying the party. Then I turned to Liam who was pushing some clothes into a leather overnight satchel. I went to him and sat on the overstuffed sofa. I watched him changed his watch and pulled out some drawers to look for something.

"So, what's the deal? You haven't been home for a while? Are you avoiding somebody? Your dad?" I asked and Liam looked up at me, not answering my question. He then proceeded to take off his t-shirt. My eyes widen and looked away when he stripped. He sauntered into the walk-in-closet casually, not bothered about me seeing him topless. He came back out wearing a gray t-shirt that hugged his gorgeous body comfortably. He came to me and sat beside me heavily.

"My dad is the biggest asshole I've ever met. We don't get along. And last month, he threw me out and kinda disowned me when I transferred to another college. For the basketball scholarship. He wanted me to take Business and join the ivy league rowing team. I couldn't think of anything worse. I'd rather have fire ants up my ass. So, I rebelled and he disowned me. I came back today because of my mom, not that asshole. " Liam explained as he looked ahead. I sighed. I totally get it it. I'm no stranger to having a tumultuous relationship with my dad. Our relationship has gotten worse since my Mom died a few years ago. He looked troubled. Trying to lighten the mood, I inched closer to Liam's side.

"Okay...now tell me about Madison...What's your deal ...with...that?" I said as I cringed. Liam chuckled as he looked at my disgusted face.

"She's my first girlfriend. We got together when we were 16. She was the bossiest girlfriend ever. I broke up with her after almost a year. It was the most horrible year of my life. Actually, I wanted to break up with her sooner, but she threatened to tell my parents that I was gay. So, I suffered for that whole year. It was a shitty year for me. And when I dated another girl, she told my current girl that I gave her STD. Then, the said girl screwed my dad's driver. Madison's been trying to get back together with me but, no way am I going there again!" Liam said as he took his bag. He looked over to me and shrugged with a smile .

Just then, there was urgent knock on the door. Liam got up and opened it a little. It was Sean and he looked a little scared.

"It's dad. he knows you're here and is now looking for you with a 9 iron in his hand. I suggest you leave now before he finds you and kill you," Sean said urgently.

Liam grabbed his jacket, bag and me. He pulled me to the huge window and we walked out to the balcony. We were on the second floor. Liam went to the balcony and threw his bag and jacket to the ground below. Then, he looked at me. I looked at him, wide-eyed. He's not asking me to jump, is he?! Like, is he crazy?!
