Episode 5

I craned my neck to see Trey over the huge crowd. The only reason I would be in a basketball game is because of Trey. I hate sports. I hate playing it and watching a game could kill me. But basketball was the exception. Or rather, a game where Trey was playing. Watching him in action is the best. I would never miss a game, ever!

Amy, Dan and I were there to watch a game against a rival team. The game hadn't started yet. I saw Trey and Ryan warming up at the sidelines. Trey caught my eyes and waved. I waved back. He smiled and Ryan winked. Some girls squealed and waved at Trey and Ryan, thinking the guys were waving and winking at them. I laughed and shook my head in amusement. Just then, I saw another familiar face. Liam? He's playing, too?

When the game started, it was evident that Liam was good. Like, really good. Waaayy better than Trey and Ryan put together. I watched him, grudgingly mesmerized at the way he flew all over the court. The girls were swooning in wonder of the new basketball star. Many were screaming his name. Dan was busy calling his twin's name, cheering him on.

"Oh my God, Liam, I love you! Go Liam! Go!" The girls were wild. I really liked watching him. He was graceful and slam dunked with ease. Like he didn't look like he was even trying. Trey and Ryan were soaked through, but he hardly broke a sweat. Well, well, well...okay, he may be a basketball ace. Doesn't mean I like him. He's still the douche who called me Fat Ass Bitch.

"Ho, wow! Liam is so hot! He's really good! We could win this!" Amy cried as she watched the game intently, chewing her nail as she did so.

"Well, he should be. He's a star player in his previous college. We actually stole him..heh heh.." Dan said with a chuckle. Okay, so that's why he transfered.

"Go, Trey! Go!" I cried when Trey had the ball. He aimed towards the basket and took a shot. It looked like he might miss until Liam came and nudged the ball towards the net. It went with a smooth 'woosh'. And the buzzer for halftime went. Trey and Liam high-fived. The players went to the sidelines and took a break. The girls around me were gushing over Liam. They were all wondering who he was. Urgh, people are so shallow. Just coz he's gorgeous, tall and plays a mean game, they all want a piece of him. If only they knew that he's a twat. I glared at him. He caught me glaring at him. He gave a small wave and a nervous crooked smile.

"Oh my God! Liam just waved at me! He really did!" The girl behind me said. I almost laughed. Gosh, these girls were pathetic.

"Hannah, I think Liam waved at you....hmm..interesting.." Amy remarked as she gave me a sideway glance.

"Humph, that's just out of guilt," I said under my breath, but apparently it was loud enough for Amy to hear.

"Guilt? You mean for calling you..uh..yeah..probably..But I think there's more to it than that. Are you sure there's nothing going on Hannah?" Amy asked. I was saved from answering when the buzzer for the 2nd half of the game blared. The crowd went wild when the players started to jog to the centre court.

The 2nd half was a blur. Man, that boy literally flew across the court. Pretty soon, everyone was chanting his and Trey's names. When the final buzzer blared, the crowd went wild. We won! The players celebrated and Liam was hoisted and carried across the court. He looked happy but visibly embarrassed. Trey was jumping around like a Duracell bunny. I laughed and started to walk out of the gym with Amy. As usual, we would wait for the guys at the parking lot.

When Ryan, Trey and Liam finally came out of the gym all fresh from a shower, a few girls ran up to them. Trey was comfortable and even let th girls hugged and kissed him on the cheek. Ryan was the same. Liam looked shy and uncertain, which was weird. With his looks, he should be a smooth-talker with the ladies. He was smiling awkwardly as the girl crowded around him and gushed. When the girls finally left, the guys walked over to us.

"Hey, congratulations man!" Dan cried and hugged his twin. Trey went to me and hugged me, as usual.

"You did great Trey!" I said, beaming as Trey casually slung his arm over my shoulder. I felt my stomach churned from being so close to Trey.

"Hey, it's all thanks to this guy over here! Damnit Liam, you were so cool!" Trey cried excitedly.

Liam just smiled and he looked embarrassed. His gaze flickered towards me, but I pretended to look elsewhere.

"Okay, the Kappas are having a party in our honour. Let's go!" Dan said excitedly.

"Trey! Liam! Ryan! Wait! Come ride with us! We're going to the Kappa party too!" A group of girls cried behind us. I looked behind me. They were all blonde and gorgeous.

"Sure ladies, it'll be my pleasure! Hey, we'll see you there, ok! Come on Ryan, Liam!" Trey cried as he walked away from me and slung his arm over a tiny blonde's shoulder. Ryan followed suit.

"Hannah, I'll see you there, ok? Liam, come on!" Trey called.

Liam hung back and just scratched the back of his neck. He looked over at me and then shook his head.

"I'm gonna ride with Dan. We'll meet you there." Liam said and Trey went off.

"Alright, let's go!" Dan said as we all walked towards his truck.

"Shotgun!" Amy screamed out of nowhere and ran towards the front seat. She looked back at me and smirked. Her eyes fell on Liam, then on me. She smiled an evil smile. Damnit Amy! Way to make me uncomfortable.

I was forced to sit with Liam again. In the car, Dan and Amy were talking about the best breakfast diner around campus. I was too disappointed to participate in the conversation, although breakfast is my favourite topic. I hated that Trey ditched me to go with those bimbos. He always does that. He looked like he liked me, by being all physicaal and touchy-feely. But next thing I know, he's off with some blonde, sucking face and swapping spit. It makes me so angry. It kinda made me feel like he's only nice to me to keep his grades up to keep his basketball scholarship.

"You like him, don't you?" Liam said suddenly. My head whipped around to look at him.

"What?!" I snapped. I looked at Liam with narrowed eyes. He'd better watch what he says.

"Trey. You like him, right?" Liam said as he glanced at me. I was annoyed and embarrassed that the new guy could read me easily.

"What's it to you? What, you're gonna laugh at me?" I challanged him.

"No, I can help you. Get Trey to like you." Liam said as he looked at me.

"What?! Get real!" I scoffed.

"Really, I'll help him notice you." Liam tried to convince me.

"Now, why would you do such a thing?! And this doesn't mean I like him, ok!" I Said to him rather roughly.

"Look, I want to make up for being an ass..you know, for calling you..THAT..I'm really, really sorry. Let me make it up to you. By helping you get Trey to notice you. Deal?" Liam pleaded. I looked at him and sighed. He seemed sincere.

"Fine," I said simply. ANd then we went quiet. I felt Liam looked at me from time to time.

Just then, Dan parked the truck near the Kappa house. The street was filled with cars parked waywardly and kids partying.

"Alright, let's go!" Daniel said as he got out of his truck. We all ambled out of his truck and walked towards the party.

"Look, Hannah. When we do this, you have to trust me okay? And just follow my lead. Alright?" Liam said suddenly as we neared the house. I glanced at him.

"You better not make me do crazy stuff Henessy. And no unnecessary touching or I'll break your fingers. You got it?!" I warned him. He blinked his eyes rapidly from surprise and nodded his head. I sighed and marched into the full house. What am I getting myself into??
