Episode 17

Abyad was on the point to go back to South Africa, he had no reason to stay back. He was preparing his luggage when Rania barged into the room. "where do you think you are going?" asked the devilish witch. "it's none of your business!" replied Abyad coldly. "of course, it is of my business, remember our deal?" she replied with a smirk. Abyad clenched his fist and left the room. Rania was enjoying the situation, it was a treat to see Aayat and Zinat hurt and if by that she was to destroy someone's life, she was willing to do so. Abyad sigh and remembered his past with Aayat.

*3 years back*

Abyad's P.O.V

Aayat would always hang around Irshad and Izza during chemistry class, while for physics she would stick to Rabia who unfortunately for her, sat next to me. With her sitting close to me, it was hard to concentrate, but it was a good opportunity to make her hate me. I deliberately started to flirt with Rabia in front of her and as usual, Rabia would ignore me as her attention was always on a guy sitting in the front row.

A month passed, Aayat's jealousy subsided, she finally befriended Jannah. Though seeing me talking to Jannah would make her angry, she plastered a smile on her face whenever Jannah communicated with her. Sometimes I would lose control over my emotions and go close to her or compliment her. This made her extremely confused. After a bunch of trials, I managed to get a good hold on my emotions, I was completely cold towards her, but my sweet cousin, Jannah, and my best friend, Izza, forced her to sit next to me such that we can solve our issues.

However, their attempts failed, as she royally ignored me. She spent her whole time talking to Jannah and clicking pictures with her. How dare she? I could not let her ignore me like that, so I decided to photobomb her picture. As soon as she saw me in the background, she was shocked, the mumbled "Idiot". However, I knew she kept the picture because she posted it again on Jannah's birthday and tagged me in it.

By the time we reached near our finals for A-level, she lost her weight completely, she became skinny again and was usually absent as she was sick. Then one day she texted me saying that though she tried to ignore it, our indifference was affecting her life. I hated myself for her condition but I knew that it was the best I could do for her. I was scared that her innocent mind would be destroyed with someone like me. Thus, I kept on pushing her away.

The next day when I saw her, I acted like she was invisible, I was sick as well. While entering the class, I threw my jacket on my seat but it landed on her. She struggled to get free but she failed to do so as she was extremely fragile and weak. In the end, Izza removed the jacket from her face and gave it back to me. I smiled and thank Izza and looked at Aayat's red face. She was still trying to catch her breath. If it was not for that I am sure she would have slapped me that day.

A few seconds later, I heard Izza scolding her for ignoring me. I felt bad and made a paper flower. I interrupted Izza and gave it to her. This made Aayat rolled her eyes in annoyance and look away. Izza smiled at the flower and stopped scolding Aayat. When I reached home that day, I noticed that Aayat blocked me from everywhere. I had finally succeeded, but I was not happy.

Aayat was sleeping soundly, she was having a beautiful dream but soon the dream turned into a nightmare. "Abyad..." she screamed as she wakes up. She was breathing heavily as she recollected her memories from the dream. She was on the beach enjoying the cold breeze against her skin. When she felt a hand wrap itself around her. She smiled as if she knew the owner and leaned into his muscular body.

" I missed you" he whispered. Soon, the person revealed to be Abyad and they enjoyed on the beach until she heard a gunshot. Blood started oozing out of Abyad's mouth and he fell on the sand. She heard Rania's laughter. Aayat screamed and she woke up. Aayat was sweating badly. Zinat and Aditya rushed into her room hearing her scream. Zinat was well aware of Aayat's nightmares. She started having them after Zinat's accident. Then the case worsens after Zubair died.

Zinat instantly hugged Aayat and tried to calm her down. Aditya felt sad seeing his best friend's sister like this and wished he was here for her. " Can I have Sana?" asked Aayat. Zinat sighed and gave it to her. Aayat instantly hugged her teddy bear and cried her heart out. "Zinat you remember when I got this?" asked Aayat, smiling at her teddy. " It was one day before I engaged with Zubbu, you walked on us and he turned into the overly possessive brother he was. I spent hours convincing him to let you go on that date and not to reveal anything to your parents" replied Zinat smiling at the memory. Both Zinat and Aayat wished they could relive those beautiful days.
