Ethan was in a foul mood.

His father had preassured him about his behavior towards Lara while his mother won't stop whining about Lucas gaining more favour from their father.

"Each and everyone of them, They're all disgusting" he distastefully said.

To him only Emma was pure and lovely, she didn't hate Lara even after she had been continuously humiliated, Emma even saved him when he was almost stabbed and was hurt instead but she didn't even ask him for anything as compensation.

"Why do I have to marry that Bit*h to improve our family relationship just because I'm told to? I even have to break up with Emma? No way in hell. And that ba*tard too he thinks he's better than me just because he's starting to gain father's favor?"

"Do you want me to help brother?" Cecile who had been silently sitting and watching him rant finally spoke.

Ethan would've lost his temper if the person speaking someone else, but knew what his sister was capable of. Even in the past he had managed to suppress Lucas time and again with her help so he didn't waste any effort and made a gesture of agreement.

"Why don't you just agree to peacefully marry her?"

At her words Ethan sat up and had a very ugly expression on his face.

"haha your face is scary" Cecile laughed "brother you should listen till the end first before giving me such a look. I can help you secure your position as the next CEO as well as get rid of Lara, you know"

"Speak" he demanded

"Alright.., as I was saying, you should stop going against father so openly. If you keep doing that I'm sure father would be very much obliged to hand it over to the more capable bastard child"

Ethan frowned at her words "Just get to the point"

"You can pretend to act obedient to father stay low, you just have to follow my plan.

At the day of your engagement, we can slip a drug into Lucas's drink, and put him together in a room with Lara and later pretend to catch them in the act with all the guests.

That way Father's and everyone's view on Lucas will change, and Lara will have to marry Lucas too because her parents won't want her image to be ruined.

But since Lara will hate Lucas she'll support you even if you didn't marry her while you can play the pitiful 'my fiancee slept with my brother' card.

No-one will even feel pity for Lara but only disdain"

This time Ethan was already smiling, he ruffled Cecil's head.

Although he felt that it was disgusting to even think about being together with Lara, he can bear with it if it's Just a few weeks.

It was tiring trying to act like a fool blinded by love but Lara spent an entire month following Ethan around and pestering him without cracking her mask and breaking out of character.

She kept up with her daily schedule of acting out a jealous and spoiled young miss and didn't miss out on making unreasonable demands and ridiculing  Emma.

The days ticked by slowly for Lara. How she wished she would get away from the suffocating place.

About their son's unfavorable behavior It looked really touching with Mrs Vozen trying to coax Lara and Mr Vozen scolding his precious son? What a joke..... She'll play along anyway.

Just like that,the date which she had long awaited finally arrived.

Everything was the same, the decorations, invited guests, the laughter and music.

Slipping into the blue evening dress embedded with sapphires, her red lips held a small curve.

This was the same dress she had worn in the very same party her last life.

She had ordered the designer to make the color of the dress aqua blue to match The Vozen's, or to be exact Ethan's eye color.

But maybe due to someone messing it up intentionally or unintentionally the color, as if by fate, closely resembled the pair of blue eyes Lucas had.

The dress held a precious memory for her now so no way in hell she'll complain and sue the designer like she did before. She knew that Cecil's plan was to get a temper tantrum out of her, too bad she won't be getting any.

And Maybe she should thank Cecil for the gift?

Running her fingers through the smooth fabric she sighed.

Her parents won't be coming tonight due to some urgent business, she already knew. Why? If you're asking, then it's because she was the cause of it.

If her parents are here then surely they won't let her suffer injustice so she had to keep them away since she had to suffer this time.

Taking one more look into the mirror she finally went out of the room.

She couldn't mess things up now.

The stair she was ascending had a luxurious red carpet draped over it and paired with the gold railing it gave a vibe of a royal debutante ball, for a princess.

As she took light steps approaching the bottom of the stairs, she could feel the eyes of everyone lingering on her, most of them admiring her beauty while the others looking at her for gossip. So far so good.

Unfortunately she can't be the main character here tonight.

Halfway through, her bathing in the attention and dazzling spotlight, the entrance dramatically opened and a tall handsome man with aqua blue eyes and golden blonde hair wearing a silver grey suit strodded in along with a woman in pure white dress with short brown fluffy hair and eyes.

They didn't actually link arms together but one could see the affection bubbling between them.

'Can't wait to make me fall Eh?'

Lara smirked at the drama which was about to be unfolded.

They came a bit earlier but I should be happy for their dramatic entrance.

This way everyone present here can bear witness the events that pass today.

Feeling gazes on her so she finally began her act.

Seeming to tremble furiously due to the humiliation Lara clenched her fists hard and bit down on her lips.

She was standing at a place where one couldn't be spotted easily. But she herself was quite visible as all eyes had already been on her.

All eyes were sneakily darting back and fro between the two sides and the invisible tension shot up a few more levels.

"Did you see?The young miss Dwane is without a partner because her fiancee is with another girl" someone whispered.

"That vixen with Young master Ethan looks like a pure girl but to think she was able to seduce the young master who had such a perfect fiancee, she's absolutely shameless. I feel bad for Miss Lara" another voice whispered.

The whispers grew and became noticeable.

"Everyone, thank you for coming tonight." Ethan stepped towards the raised platform and spoke to grab everyone's attention making them go silent

"As you've all heard this party was actually thrown to make the engagement between I myself and Lara official, and that's the truth."He seemed really sincere saying this.

"And about the rumors between this young lady, Emma and I, they're false.

Emma is a very good friend of mine who saved me and I'm really grateful to her. I won't forgive anyone who spread false rumors about my benefactor seducing me to gain a position." The already silent spectors once again grew heated and resumed to their previous gossip.

"So to make it clear....." Ethan smiled sweetly towards the direction Lara was and called out to her.

Lara stood still as if shocked, and Ethan made his way to her and finally stopped at the corner Lara had stood.

"I love you Lara. Will you make me the happiest man alive by becoming my wife?" Ethan got down on his knees and took out a small box containing a tear shaped cut Ice Sapphire ring. Everyone was shocked at this scene. They could all see the sincerity he had, well maybe you couldn't, but the ice sapphire was worth billions and giving it to Lara as an engagement ring, that alone was enough to prove his sincerity.

Their previous views took a 180° turn with just that.

Tears streamed down Lara's face.

Smiling while wiping her tears she nodded her head and held out her slender fingers.

The blue ring slipped into the pale white fingers and looked really magnificent as if it was made to be worn just by Lara.

Everyone bore witness to the very touching sight yet nobody had made out the deep malice both sides had for the other.
