Kim Namjoon also known by his stage name rap monster or rm was born on 12 September 1994 at sangdo-dong, seoul but moved to Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea when he was 4. He's family includes hias mom dad and a younger sister. He is a part of the lejindary korean boy band BTS and is the leader of the pack aka group.

He's mom didn't support his career as he was good at his studies so he decided to set music aside and fo us on his studies. In order to convince his mother he asked her if "she wanted to have a son who was a first place rapper or a 5000th place student" (which i probably think will use someday in the future) He use to often write poetries and get awards and even uploaded in internet roughly. When he was 11 he started to get interested in hip-hop after listening to Epik High's 'Fly' in fifth class. He learn English with his mother through watching'FRIENDS' n it's a great tip for us yo learn Korean by watching dramas and movies too.WOW!!! In 2006 she went to New Zealand to learn languages for 4 months. He release his first solo mixtap 'RM' was released on 17 March 2015. On November 13 2017 he wrote a message on the group's official fan cafe that he'll change his stage name from 'rap monster' to 'RM' which could mean 'Real Me'. He selected the name 'Rap Monster' during his time in idol trainee. His name is oftenly mistaken that it means 'raps like a monster' which is probably not true! It was originally derived from the lyrics of the song he wrote, inspired by San E's 'Rap Genius'. The lyrics includes a segment where it mentioned ylthat he should be called a 'rap monster' as 'he raps non-stop'. He adopted the stage name as he thought it was 'cool'
