Shonun-Birth Of Martial Arts
IN AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE
Shonun , a boy mere 10 years old, had to witness the death of his parents in front of his eyes . While he was hiding in a nearby trunk, his parents were getting brutually murdered by a group of thugs and bandits. Little did he knew that this day will change his life entirely.
Forward 7 years into the future , now shonun , a 17 years old handsome lad is on his way to china after years of travelling all around the world . There he sought after mental peace as his soul has been dried up since the day his parents were murdered. The year was 1508. As he roamed through the streets of a peaceful town in china, the images of war wounded and devastated images of his own country kept swaying around his head. He has never returned to his country, India, after that ill fated night after which he left his country for good .
As far as he could see , there where kids playing around and people busy in their daily chores. He wandered whether this is the place where he would find what he was looking for . Suddenly a priest looking saint crossed the road in front of his. As if there were magnets attracting him , Shonun developed an itch to follow the monk . After a few minutes of following him, shonun reached a series of stairs above of which lied a temple looking structure. As he climbed the stairs , he went upto the temple and asked around about what was that place. But none of the monks seemed to mind his presence at all. Inside the temple was a huge statue of Gautam Buddha beside which sat a monk meditating.
Shonun sat there waiting for the monk to complete his meditation as he fell asleep from hunger and tireness. As the monk completed his meditation he saw a young boy sleeping on the floor of temple. He woke shonun up and tried to communicate with him but upto no avail as both didn’t understood a single word which either spoke. So the monk tried to ask shonun using hand signs which he quickly followed and said that he was hungry. The monk offered shonun with some food and asked him to sleep in a spare room using his hand signs. The next day shonun woke up and started helping around the temple in their daily chores. He would sweep the floor , wash clothes of other monks and even cook food for them. He found great joy in these things. As a month passed by, one day as he was sweeping the floor when he heard the disciples of the temple practicing kung-fu. One of them was the same saint which he saw that day who crossed the road in front of him. As shonun tried to approach that monk, another monk tried to tell him something. The other monk punched repeatedly in the air looking directly in the eyes of shonun. This monk was Shourya who tried to get shonun to follow him. So shonun understood and started practicing with those monks . As days went by, shonun mastered all of the techniques that kung-fu had to offer in a mere short period of 3 months. All the monks in the temple were shocked to see a 17 year old boy master all of the techniques of kung-fu in such a short time. This didn’t go un-noticed by the head priest as well. The head priest was the one whom shonun met while he was meditating near buddha’s statue. The priest called a local translator to the temple the next day who could understand and speak both the languages. The priest spoke to shonun in a mild , timid voice. He said that shonun is not a normal human being. There hasn’t been any person who has mastered all of kung-fu in such a short time. NO single person has ever even mastered all of kung-fu in their entire lives. The priest went on to say that shonun should enquire more about his family background as he doesn’t seemed to be a normal human. There were no ill intentions in the priest’s words but Shonun was not able to interpret the priest’s intentions and got angry and stood up and yelled that the priest was jealous of him as he had mastered all of kung-fu and the news of which will bring shame on the monks as a foreign boy mastered all of which no other monk had been able to, before. He said that he didn’t wanted to stay with the monks any longer as they will only try to hinder his learnings and that he will never return to the temple again.
