Understanding Love

Kei decided to walk together with Rika to school and also after school, but frustratingly, Kei couldn't leave his two other friends, Taisei and Ryouma for walking home with Rika, even though,he knew his absence wouldn't effect anything to them

Kei patiently waiting Rika infront of her house

Rika: Kei! I didn't thought you'd come this early! Come in first, have a breakfast with my family! *Rika shouted while brushing her hair*

Kei: It's okay, I accidentally arrived too early, I'll just wait outside

Rika: Hm okay then sorry for the waiting!

Rika closed the door

After a while,

Rika opened the door back,

Rika: Kei! My father insisted you to join breakfast with us, he said he accidentally cooked lots

Kei: *seems like I can't refuse* well, Okay!

He then nervously walked inside her house, the door closed.

Rika's father: Have a seat, Kei, isn't?

Kei: Yes I am, thank you, Mr Minami-san

Rika's father: I heard you were her ex boyfriend during middle school? She often mentioned your name

Kei: *silent* I was and being with her was truly enjoyable *he tried to control his nervous*

Rika: Oto-san! *pull the chair out and sit* you just made my friend nervous, poor him, we are nothing like lovers right now, we are as good as being friends *take a bite of the breakfast that her father made*

Rika: Oishii! (delicious) Kei, what are you waiting for? start eating

Kei: Gomen (sorry) I thought we were waiting for your mother *he starts eating*

The situation turned silent for a while

Kei: Its taste really good, you are a great cooker, Mr Minami-san

Rika's father: My wife is dead, it's been two years, I -i just want to let you know, so that you wouldn't mention about her mother infront of her again, I think that might hurt her *softly looking at her precious daughter that is one and only*

Kei: I'm sorry, that was my mistake,

Im sorry Rika,

Rika quickly wiped her tears that falling down her cheek without letting anyone noticed.

But, she failed because Kei already saw she's crying silently

Rika: what a bad atmosphere you have created this morning,Dad! You shouldn't start that!

Kei noticed the way she talk sounds like someone that just finished from crying

Rika: Kei, don't feel bad, I should've let you know, silly me! Eh, Kei look at the clock! We are late!

Kei: But it's n-not

Rika: Bye dad! I'm off to school, see you tonight!

Rika's dad: Take care, sweetheart! *while waving her hand*

Kei look at Rika's dad

Kei: sorry for earlier Mr Minami-san, Im going now,

Rika's dad: I trusted you with her, she never mentioned anyone's name except you since she transferred here, It's fine if you want to be her boyfriend, I can see that you are a good kid

Kei:*smile* Thank you for trusting me,Mr Minami-san, Bye

Grab Rika's hand

Kei: I'm sorry for earlier

*Rika turned around, facing Kei*

Rika: It's fine, lets get going

*As they both walking, Kei realised that he seems to know nothing about Rika after these three years*

They finally reached school

*Rika smiled*

Rika: We arrived! Our first day to school together!

Kei: Recess together?

Rika: Sure can!

The class begin but Kei couldn't stop himself from looking at Rika, he noticed Rika isn't paying attention to the teacher but its common for Rika to do so since she do not care with her study,

*they eating their lunch together at the top of school roof*

Suddenly, Kei breaking the silence

Kei: As how you always care for me, I want to do the same to you, I told you before isn't?

Kei: feel free to talk about anything with me, you said we both close right?

*slowly hold her hand*

She began crying slowly

Rika: I m-miss her, I miss her so much Kei!

Kei pull Rika closer to him and hug her

Kei: I'm here, cry all you want, it's better to let it out right?

Rika: T-The person who close with my mother always brings up how kind my mother is, its really hurting me, I wasn't a good daughter when she's alive

Kei: *Kei glad she cried with him and trust him to open up so he listened every of her words*

Kei: *wiped her tears* *worry*

Don't keep it all inside next time okay? It's fine to cry, it's fine to let people know you are sad, but it's not fine to bottle up all inside, its hurting yourself,

Rika smiled

Rika: Thank you Kei, your words means a lot

Kei: compared to you, I did nothing

Kei: now, lets head back to class, soon the class will begin

*Rika nodded*

*Inside the class,*

Kei remembered that there was a picture of her with her mother at the hospital hanging as a frame at her house,

Kei: All I can assumed, her mother was sick, I shouldn't ask further, but what will happen if she knew something that I meant to keep it all alone? I-I just don't want her to be sad...
