Chapter 20 - The Hidden Relationship

It's been a few weeks since Eric started to live with me. His every day presence in the house makes me feel happy that he's there. Evicted from his apartment, fired from his job, life hasn't been smiling upon him. Hopefully, I can be that sun ray that lights up his life a little.

Each evening, I stay back at school ate for my tutoring sessions. He always waits outside for me with either a small cake in hand or a can of fizzy orange. We walk back home together and sometimes even go out for dinner if the mood is right.

He promised me to never leave my side unless telling me first. Therefore, I let myself be a little more generous with my feelings. But I told him that if we are to be in a relationship, nobody can know about it. I didn't want to tell him one of the reasons; that my tutoring clients would feel intimidated by me. But he nodded and agreed, for the price of a kiss, which to his surprise I glady gave him on the spot.

I've been working hard to not only support me but to support Eric too. Buying food for two people is more expensive than for one. Luckily I got a lot of money from his father thanks to tutoring him so everything is fine. Then, one morning, while we were having breakfast, he got a phone call. I don't normally hear his phone ring, actually, I believe this is the first time that I've even seen it.

He snarled and didn't pick it up. "What's wrong?" He grumbled. "Nothing. Eat up your breakfast, we're going to school." Just as we left the door, I then froze as I saw a very expensive car in front of my house with Master Jackson's assistant in front of it.

"Young Master, the Master requires a little bit of your time." He sneered. "Tell him I'm too busy to deal with him right now. Sorry, you should be used to that answer by now." What's wrong with Eric? He seems... really angry. "Miss Davis, this is a family matter. Please move along and we'll sort out a compensation fee-" "Like hell she is! The ones that should be leaving are you!"

Then, the window opened a little. "Remember who is paying for her education, Eric." His eyes tensed as he clenched his fists. What does he mean? Oh right, he's the main sponsor of the school so technically he is paying for my tuition. I watched him as he angrily walked towards the car. However, before walking in, he turned around and winked at me. "I'd like roast pork tonight, is that okay?"

I smiled and declared "Okay." He then stepped into the car and disappeared. He didn't come into school that day, nor did I receive a phone call from him either. I put the roast pork in the oven, even if it did cost me a small fortune, and I sat at the table, waiting for him. I felt so guilty... I know the only reason why he's there is because of me and his father's pressure on my position in the academy.
